Introduction. VPNs primarily establish encrypted tunnels for network traffic and mask users’ IP addresses; they do not inherently block malware, phishing, or denial-of-service attacks. Yet advertising content often portray VPNs as comprehensive security solutions, blurring public understandings of what these tools can and cannot do. This exploratory study examines how YouTube influencers in Taiwan frame VPNs in sponsored content and communicate cybersecurity risks. Method. This study employs qualitative content analysis of sponsored VPN videos published by top Taiwanese YouTube influencers. Data include 20 videos and 99 close-watching observation notes documenting narrative strategies in promotional contexts. Analysis. Using open coding and iterative qualitative analysis, we examine influencer narratives across four analytical dimensions informed by risk communication frameworks: technical accuracy, risk translation, metaphorical strategies, and audience engagement. Results. This study identifies several recurring strategies in VPN-sponsored videos, including simplifying technical descriptions, reframing risks as consumer disadvantages, and using metaphors or everyday scenarios to make VPNs more relatable. While these tactics increased accessibility and entertainment value, they also risked obscuring the conditional and limited scope of VPNs. Conclusion. The findings show how vernacular metaphors and promotional framings shape public understandings of digital security, extending cybersecurity communication research beyond news or policy discourse.

Data mining is the process of analyzing large datasets to discover hidden patterns, trends, and valuable information. This study utilizes data mining to address a social issue, specifically estimating divorce rates in the Religious Court of Grobogan Regency. The method used is multiple linear regression, with the dependent variable being the number of divorces and independent variables including 'cerai talak' (divorce initiated by the husband), 'cerai gugat' (divorce initiated by the wife), and 'dispensasi kawin' (marriage dispensation). The objective of this research is to test and develop a data mining method to estimate divorce rates, thereby aiding the Religious Court of Grobogan Regency in formulating more effective policies, based on divorce data from 2023-2024. The research process includes data collection, pre-processing, algorithm implementation, and result evaluation. The analysis shows that the multiple linear regression model provides reasonably accurate estimates, with a Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) of 6.505 and a Relative Root Squared Error (RRSE) of 0.070. Further analysis reveals that 'cerai talak,' 'cerai gugat,' and 'dispensasi kawin' significantly affect divorce rates, with 'cerai gugat' being the most dominant factor. These findings provide a solid foundation for developing strategic policies to handle divorce cases in Grobogan Regency. To improve model accuracy, data enrichment and additional variables are needed. Collaboration between academics and the Religious Court of Grobogan Regency is also crucial to ensure the successful implementation of this research’s findings.

Building on the transactional stress model, this study examined the moderating effect of leader humor and employee coping humor on the stressor‐appraisal relationship, and the role of cognitive appraisal in predicting innovative behavior. We collected data from 353 members of 43 teams in Mainland China. The findings indicated that leader humor and employee coping humor predicted the stressor‐appraisal relationship. Specifically, leader affiliative humor and employee coping humor strengthened the challenge stressors???challenge appraisal relationship. The hindrance stressor‐hindrance appraisal relationship was strengthened by leader aggressive humor but weakened by leader affiliative humor and employee coping humor. Challenge appraisal mediated the positive relationship between challenge stressors and innovative behavior, while hindrance appraisal mediated the negative relationship between hindrance stressors and innovative behavior. We have extended the literature by investigating the mediating role of cognitive appraisal in the relationship between job stressors and employee innovation.

We introduce linear regression using physics-based basis functions optimized through the geometry of an inner product space. This method addresses the challenge of surrogate modeling with high-dimensional input, as the physics-based basis functions encode problem-specific information. We demonstrate the method using a proof-of-concept nonlinear random vibration example.

MYB transcription factor (TF) is one of the largest superfamilies that play a vital role in multiple plant biological processes. However, the MYB family has not been comprehensively identified and functionally verified in Cajanus cajan, which is the sixth important legume crop. Here, 170 CcR2R3-MYBs were identified and divided into 43 functional subgroups. Segmental and tandem duplications and alternative splicing events were found and promoted the expansion of the CcR2R3-MYB gene family. Functional prediction results showed that CcR2R3-MYBs were mainly involved in secondary metabolism, cell fate and identity, developmental processes, and responses to abiotic stress. Cis-acting element analysis of promoters revealed that stress response elements were widespread in the above four functional branches, further suggesting CcR2R3-MYBs were extensively involved in abiotic stress response. The transcriptome data and qRT-PCR results indicated that most of the CcR2R3-MYB genes responded to various stresses, of which the expression of CcMYB107 was significantly induced by drought stress. Overexpression of CcMYB107 enhanced antioxidant enzyme activity and increased proline and lignin accumulation, thus improving the drought resistance of Cajanus cajan. Furthermore, Overexpression of CcMYB107 up-regulated the expression of stress-related genes and lignin biosynthesis genes after drought stress. Our findings established a strong foundation for biological function investigation of CcR2R3-MYB TFs in Cajanus cajan. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.

Abstract:This article uses 2012–18 China Family Panel Survey (CFPS) panel data to study the impact of government transfer payment receipt on extracurricular tuition expenditure for children of urban families requiring aid. Findings have shown that government transfer payments increase extracurricular tuition spending for children and have a positive impact on total family expenditure with regard to children's education. Heterogeneity tests indicate that the impact is significant in the central and eastern regions of China, among children above seven years old and children in one-child families. The authors attribute the positive effects to parents' increased awareness of the importance of education and to increased opportunities for children from assisted families to participate in extracurricular tuition classes. This article proposes policy recommendations to improve the government transfer payment system in urban China.

Externalizing problem behaviors significantly affect adolescent mental health. This study adopted a cross-sectional design based on the multifactor system model of personality and individual differences to explore the relationships between callous–unemotional traits, externalizing problem behaviors, moral disengagement, and emotion awareness. Survey data were collected from 1,080 adolescents in China. The results showed that callous–unemotional traits were significantly and positively correlated with externalizing problem behaviors, and that moral disengagement and emotion awareness mediated this relationship. Our findings provide guidance for the intervention in and prevention of externalizing behavior problems among adolescents.

As time goes by, mass media has become a need that is almost inseparable from humans, one of which is television. Television has now become a means of entertainment for some people, many TV stations are competing to create programs to meet the entertainment needs of their viewers, not infrequently many violations are still broadcast in order to pursue TV program ratings, one of which is the exploitation of women. This research was made based on the many cases of exploitation of women's bodies that occurred in mass media such as television, especially the reality show program 'D'café' trans 7. Seeing this problem, the formulation of the problem in this research is; how women's bodies are exploited on the variety show program D'café on July 1 2021. This research aims to find out cases of exploitation of women, especially in the variety show program D'café trans 7. This research uses a qualitative content analysis method where researchers use data such as images from this verit show program to strengthen the results of this research. In this research, researchers used commodification theory. In the D'café broadcast on July 1 2021, Aspiration and Doctor Boyke were invited with a chat topic about sexual fantasies. The results of this research confirm that the beauty of women's bodies has always been used as a commodity capable of accumulating capital or generating profits. Because women are a very large market in the media industry which is believed to be able to attract many viewers to generate high ratings.

Introduction: Norovirus infection (NVI) is a highly contagious disease that is most common in children and entails significant health care costs. Objectives: To analyze and describe epidemic spread patterns of norovirus infection in the Sverdlovsk Region in 2009–2022 and to examine its determinants using statistical modeling techniques. Materials and methods: We have analyzed statistics on the monthly number of NVI cases and newborns, publicly available data on weather factors and population migration in the Sverdlovsk Region. Negative binomial regression was used to assess contribution of natural and social factors to disease incidence. The statistical analysis was carried out in the R environment. Results: A long-term increasing trend in NVI incidence that stabilized on a relatively high level in 2016–2018 was observed. The epidemic season usually started in October or November and lasted until April–May. Children under 6 years of age were at highest risk of the infection. Distribution of the disease incidence across the Sverdlovsk Region was uneven; relatively high rates were registered in some municipalities. The results of statistical modeling showed a negative correlation between weather conditions (mean temperature and relative humidity), high COVID-19 rates, and NVI incidence. The amount of precipitation, atmospheric pressure, sunshine duration, and external migration were found to be statistically insignificant predictors. In addition to the above, the level of herd immunity is likely to affect the NVI incidence, although it is hard to estimate the extent of its impact due to the lack of trustworthy data on the duration of immunity to noroviruses. Conclusion: Norovirus infection is a regional health care challenge, especially among preschool children. Ambient air temperature, relative humidity, and social distancing due to rising COVID-19 incidence rates proved to be negative predictors associated with a decrease in the number of NVI cases in the study area.
