Perceived Overqualification, Leader Integrity, and Proactive Customer Service Performance

Drawing from social identity theory and social cognitive theory, this study investigates the mediating role of organizational identification in the relationship between perceived overqualification and proactive customer service performance, as well as the moderating role of leader integrity via leader mindful attention. Results from a two-wave, two-source field survey of 204 employees and 90 leaders indicate that organizational identification mediates the relationship between perceived overqualification and proactive customer service performance. This indirect relationship is strengthened when leaders exhibit higher levels of integrity. Moreover, the moderating effect of leader integrity is accounted for by leader mindful attention. These findings deepen our understanding of how employees’ perceptions of overqualification shape customer-related outcomes and offer practical implications for how organizations may foster proactive customer service performance among employees.

A study of the readiness of primary school teachers for the formation of subject learning activities

Background. An education professional is, first of all, a specialist who is able to form a level of key academic competencies of students, at which they will be able to master any other field of knowledge independently without a mentor. By implementing the full path of subject-based learning (or self-change), students, under the guidance of a competent teacher, learn to plan their actions, set goals and achieve them, as well as reflect on all learning activities. The teacher's professionalism is manifested, among other things, in the self-improvement of pedagogical skills without relying on stereotypical traditional models of lesson construction. The creation of conditions for active educational and cognitive activity in a system-activity approach is a modern regulatory requirement. That is why the issue of the current state of professional readiness of primary school teachers for the formation of subject-based learning activities becomes relevant. There are no relevant studies directly examining the formation of the subject activity of younger schoolchildren. Recent works, mainly focusing on the theoretical side of the issue, were published more than 10 years ago and do not analyze the problem of primary school teacher training. That is why the scientific novelty of the work lies in the study of the actual professional readiness of teachers of primary general education for the formation of subject learning activities. The author describes the analysis of a survey conducted by practicing primary school teachers aimed at ascertaining their current state of readiness for the formation of subject-based learning activities.
The purpose is to analyze the current state of readiness of primary school teachers to form the subject learning activities of younger students.
Materials and methods. The main methods of work are: the study of normative documents, analysis and synthesis of psychological and pedagogical literature, questionnaires and analysis of the results obtained from respondents, and work experience at a university.
Results. The results of the study are presented in the form of an analysis of the results of an online survey of primary school teachers in the aspect of the problem under study. Based on the synthesis of the survey results, conclusions are formulated regarding the current state of readiness of primary school teachers for the formation of subject learning activities. The recommendations for the faculty of higher education in the preparation of future primary school teachers are described.

The sociotechnical politics of digital sovereignty: Frictional infrastructures and the alignment of privacy and geopolitics

This article examines how digital sovereignty emerges not solely through state mandates but via unpredictable alignments of infrastructures, institutions, and imaginaries. Drawing on Science & Technology Studies (STS), it conceptualizes digital sovereignty as a hybrid black box —a provisional assemblage of technical, legal, and cultural components that stabilize sovereign claims in the digital realm. Through a case study of Threema, a privacy-focused messaging app headquartered in Switzerland, the article analyzes how the platform co-produces digital sovereignty in interaction with Swiss public institutions. Using semi-structured interviews and document analysis, it identifies three frictional dynamics—privacy, seclusion, and territorialism—that periodically destabilize the hybrid black box, revealing how sovereignty is negotiated and reconfigured in response to competing legal, infrastructural, and geopolitical pressures. The analysis is rooted in grounded theory coding and builds on literature in infrastructural media studies and post-traditional sovereignty theory. In doing so, the article contributes to current debates on digital sovereignty by showing how non-state actors, like secure messaging platforms, can enact infrastructural practices that perform sovereign functions, thereby reshaping the contours of statehood and autonomy in the digital age.

هدفت الدراسة إلى الإجابة عن عدة تساؤلات؛ هي: ما العوامل التي هيأت لمجاهد هذه الريادة بين المفسرين؟ وهل كان لتفرداته أثر في كتبهم من بعده؟ وما مظاهر ذلك التأثير؟ وكيف شكلت تلك التفردات ملمحا بارزا يستحق أن تفرد له الدراسات؟ وما الأسس التي ارتكز عليها مجاهد في تلك التفردات؟ وتعتمد الدراسة على معطيات المنهج الاستقرائي القائم على تحليل ما تفرد به مجاهد، وجعل من تفسيره مجالا للأصالة والتفرد. وجاءت الدراسة في مقدمة تلاها تمهيد تضمن الوقوف عند مصطلحات الدراسة وإطارها التنظيري، ثم أربعة محاور في الإطار التطبيقي؛ هي: الأول: تفردات تفسيرية مرتبطة بأسباب النزول واللهجات. الثاني: تفردات تفسيرية تبعا للحسي والمجرد. الثالث: تفردات تفسيرية في الأخذ بالرأي. الرابع: تفردات تفسيرية وفقا للغة. وتوصل البحث إلى أن كثيرا من المواضع التي قد يظن أنها من تفردات مجاهد التفسيرية، ليست له، وإنما هي عن شيخه ابن عباس. ووقف البحث عند تفرداته التفسيرية المرتبطة بامتلاكه ناصية اللغة؛ مما جعله يجنح إلى المعنى القريب الواضح في الذهن عن البعيد الذي قد يكون غامضا قبل ذكره، وتحتمله قواعد اللغة؛ مما ويكشف عن قدرته على الابتكار والتجديد والتوسع في شروح المعاني.

INTEGRATING PROBLEM-BASED LEARNING SESSIONS WITH DIDACTIC LECTURES IN ANATOMY: A CROSS-SECTIONAL STUDY.

Background:
Anatomy is a very essential science. Knowledge of anatomy is significantly associated in situations with nearly every characteristic of medical modules. Therefore, it is required to be educated and mastered competently by medical students.
Aim: The chief objective of this research is to note and examine the outcome of teaching methods for example problem-based learning and seminars when integrated with educational lectures by first-year UG students.
Materials and Methods:
This is a cross-sectional study carried out at Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India in which 150 students from the first year were included. They were divided into 2 categories, 75 students in each category. Categories 1 and 2 are again subdivided into three categories. Both of the categories undergo seminar and problem-based learning in four chosen topics in the anatomy of the abdomen. An autonomous assessment was done to acknowledge the desired methods.
Results:
In topic 1 the average difference between the case-based learning and lecture in both categories is 4 ± 1.18 and 3.4 ± 1.4 respectively. In topic 2, the average difference between the case-based learning and lecture in both categories is 3.9 ± 1.7 and 1.8 ± 1.3 respectively.
Conclusion:
In this study, it was evaluated that problem-based learning is more efficacious in relating to critical thinking. However, problem-based learning and seminars both are required with didactic lectures.
Recommendation:
Problem-based learning and tuition classes along with conventional lecture sessions are very effective in helping students understand anatomy in a better manner.

Este estudio describe las características del diseño de instrumento que ofrece mayor eficiencia en la evaluación del aprendizaje, particularmente en la Carrera de Enfermería, de la Universidad Técnica de Comercialización y Desarrollo. El abordaje metodológico corresponde a un estudio de tipo descriptivo y bajo un diseño multimodal mixto (DEXPLOS derivativa). Para el levantamiento de los datos se consideró el empleo de una entrevista aplicada a 10 docentes y un cuestionario a 70 estudiantes, quienes estuvieron expuestos al sistema deevaluación. Las experiencias de los docentes muestran que la evaluación es llevada a cabo de manera tradicionalista. Desde la experiencia de los educandos, el aprendizaje se obtiene mediante una evaluación estratégica de manera continua. Las características del diseño de instrumento que ofrece mayor eficiencia en la evaluación del aprendizaje se dan con base en una buena comunicación de los objetivos de la evaluación, una perfecta concordancia entre un enfoque curricular, el programa, el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje y las estrategias de evaluación; así, el diseño de instrumento sirve como herramienta de aprendizaje al estudiante y de corroboración de la calidad de los procesos de enseñanza-aprendizaje. Las mismas no se dan en la evaluación por parte de los docentes.

A Site-Perspective on the Second Sophistic of the near East and Its Impact on the History of Rhetoric: An Overview

This essay introduces and examines the impact of the Second Sophistic in the Near East on the history of rhetoric. Although the overall impact of sophists is apparent as early as the Classical Period of ancient Greece, this work emphasizes the renaissance of sophistic rhetoric during the so-called Second Sophistic, a movement that flourished slightly before and throughout the Roman Empire. The Second Sophistic provided an educational system that proved to be a major force spreading the study and performance of rhetoric throughout the Roman Empire. This essay examines and synthesizes scholarship that employs conventional historical approaches, particularly research that often focuses on individual sophists, in order to establish a grounding (and justification) for concentrating on what is termed here as a “site-perspective.” That is, this essay stresses the importance of the sites of sophistic education and performance, arguing for such an orientation for future research. This essay also advances observations from the author’s own experiences and research at ancient sites in Greece and Turkey, as well as other sources of archaeological and epigraphical research. Such work reveals that artifacts at archaeological sites—epigraphy, statuary now held at museums in Greece and Turkey, and a range of other forms of material rhetoric—provide contextual insights into the nature, influence, and longevity of rhetoric during the Second Sophistic beyond examining the achievements of individual sophists. A site-perspective approach reveals that a symbiotic relationship existed between the educational achievements of the Second Sophistic—in which rhetoric played a major role—and the social and cultural complexities of the Roman Empire. Such observations also reveal the benefits, but also the need, for further fieldwork, archival research, and the development of new methodological procedures to provide a more refined understanding of the impact of the Second Sophistic on the history of rhetoric.

Monitoring of Early and Late Age Hydration Products of Volcanic Ash Blended Cement Paste

One of the major concerns of concrete industries is to develop materials that consume less natural virgin resources and energy to make sustainable construction practices. Efforts have been made and even implemented to use the waste/by product materials such as fly ash, slag, silica fume, and natural pozzolana as a partial or complete replacement for Portland cement in concrete mixtures. The deterioration of concrete structures in the existing hot and cold climates of Gulf Cooperation Council countries, along with chloride and sulphate attack, demands the use of pozzolanic materials for concrete construction. Volcanic ash incorporated cement based concretes are known for its better performance in terms of strength and durability in harsh marine environments. Understanding the cement hydration process and characterizing the hydration products in microstructural level is a complex and interdependent process that allows one to design complex mix proportions to produce sustainable concrete materials. In this paper, the early and late age hydration behavior along with micro- and pore structure of cement paste samples prepared with locally available ordinary Portland cement (OPC) and volcanic ash (VA) obtained from Saudi Arabia was monitored using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), thermogravimetric (TGA) and N2-Adsorption analysis. The hydration progress of cement paste samples with different combinations of OPC and VA (0%, 15%, 25%, and 35%) at a w/c ratio of 0.45 after 14, 28, and 90 days were discussed. The qualitative XRD and SEM of cement paste samples showed no new phases were formed during the course of hydration. The disappearance of portlandite with increase in VA content was due to both pozzolanic effect and dilution effect. This was further confirmed quantitatively by the TGA observations that the samples with VA contain less Ca(OH)<sub>2</sub> compared to the control specimens. N<sub>2</sub> adsorption experiments after 90 days of curing showed larger hysteresis as the VA content increases. The studies show that the incorporation of volcanic ash certainly contributes to the generation of C-S-H and hence the cement hydration progress, especially in the later ages through pozzolanic reactions. A 15−25 % volcanic ash blended cement paste samples showed compact and denser morphological features, which will be highly detrimental for the durability performances.

هدف البحث الحالي إلى تحديد دور مهارات القيادة الاستراتيجية في تحقيق المواءمة الاستراتيجية لدى منظمات الأعمال، وللوصول إلى هذا الهدف تم اختيار عدد من المصانع الانتاجية في محافظة دهوك بغية اختبار فرضيات البحث فيها، أما بالنسبة لطبيعة أسلوب جمع البيانات فقد اعتمد على استخدام استمارة الاستبانة لجمع البيانات من عينة مختارة من المديرين في المصانع المبحوثة، ومن مجموع (38) استمارة الاستبيان الموزعة تم الحصول على (30) نسخة صالحة للتحليل عن طريق استخدام البرنامج الاحصائي (SPSS). وتوصل البحث الى جملة من الاستنتاجات من اهمها: هناك علاقة معنوية بين مهارات القيادة الاستراتيجية والمواءمة الاستراتيجية، وهناك تاثير معنوي لمهارات القيادة الاستراتيجية في المواءمة الاستراتيجية. وقدم الباحثان عددا من المقترحات اهمها تعزيز الوعي بمهارات القيادة الاستراتيجية على جميع مستويات المنظمة عن طريق فتح دورات تدريبية وورشات عمل تؤكد اهمية مهارات القيادة الاستراتيجية ودورها في تحقيق المواءمة الاستراتيجية.

The Political Significance of Spotify in Sweden – Analysing the #backaspotify Campaign using Twitter Data

This article discusses the political significance of the streaming music company Spotify in Sweden, taking as a case a coordinated campaign in late spring 2016, known by the hashtag #backaspotify (translated as “support Spotify!”), which was mainly played out on the social media platform Twitter. The campaign is analysed using a set of data retrieved from Twitter, examining both the content and the interactions in 1,791 messages. Results show that the main political issue concerned the lack of access to rented apartments in central Stockholm, and that the main actors in the campaign were predominantly associated with public affairs consultants and the youth wings of political parties belonging to the centre-right. The campaign, however, was very short-lived and had diminished significantly already after two days. We conclude that Spotify transcends its role as a streaming music company, and additionally can be used as a point of reference in political campaigns to promote issues that are of wider scope than the music industry alone.
Cavitation-Assisted Micromixing for Polymeric Nanoparticle Generation

The high-throughput generation of polymeric nanoparticles (PNPs) with tailored size and narrow size distribution is key for applications as relevant as sensing and nanomedicine. Here we show how cavitation bubbles in a microfluidic channel can induce rapid nanoprecipitation of PNPs with user-selectable control. Specifically, we used two tip-electrodes perpendicular to the flow to induce electrical breakdown of a polymer solution and a miscible non-solvent. As a result, a plasma is formed causing cavitation and rapid mixing of the fluids, yielding nanoprecipitates of polymer. We demonstrated mL/min generation of PNPs with a diameter as low as 150 nm and polydispersity below 0.15.
Comparación de tres métodos de infiltración utilizados para el cálculo del balance hídrico del suelo, en la Cuenca del río Suquiapa, El Salvador

La infiltración del agua en el suelo juega un papel fundamental en el ciclo hidrológico. Dependiendo de las condiciones geológicas, puede permanecer en el suelo en forma de humedad; escurrir como flujo subsuperficial y aflorar como una naciente efímera; o recargar el acuífero, entre otros. Aquí presentamos una comparación de los valores de la recarga potencial para una misma cuenca, con tres métodos de infiltración comúnmente utilizados in situ: doble anillo, Porchet y permeámetro de Guelph. Observamos una correlación buena (r2=0,74) entre los valores obtenidos por medio del método del doble anillo y el permeámetro de Guelph; la correlación entre el método de Porchet y estos otros dos métodos es mala (r2 inferior a 0,02).Los valores de recarga obtenidos muestran que no hay una variación significativa entre estos métodos de infiltración, obteniendo resultados dentro del intervalo de confianza

Este projeto aborda as diversas estratégias para um ensino de Química significativo e teve como objetivo mostrar alternativas para aulas de Química, tornando-as mais dinâmica através de atividades lúdicas mediante a confecção de jogos envolvendo o conteúdo tabela periódica. Aplicado em turmas do 1º ano EJA do Ensino Médio da Escola Estadual José de Alencar no município de Rorainópolis/RR. Observamos que a alternativa didática funcionou como um instrumento facilitador no processo ensino-aprendizagem, de grande potencial motivador e atrativo, permitindo uma atmosfera produtiva, com grande envolvimento e participação dos alunos, algo não mais alcançado apenas utilizando métodos tradicionais.

The Art Residencies Programme: Experimentation, Art, Science and Technology resulted from a partnership between Ciência Viva – the Portuguese agency for scientific and technological culture – and the Direção Geral das Artes, from the Portuguese Ministry of Culture, to shape a platform for work and research with scientists and artists. From 2007 to 2010, 18 artists developed transdisciplinary experimental projects within research laboratories throughout Portugal, making use of the tools and processes typical of scientific research. This note briefly describes the two editions of the programme and the main conclusions drawn from its evaluation.

Beyond Adorno: Post-Critical Teaching of Popular Music in the German Educational System and Its Theoretical and Practical Challenges

Over three decades the works of Frankfurt School member Theodor W. Adorno played an important role in the didactic conceptualization of popular music in Germany. This resulted in a predominantly analytical, ethic-centred and, in the end, pejorative agenda. Educationalists who advocated an affirmative approach to popular music needed to formulate “new” objectives that would serve as a true alternative to the highly elaborated Adornian framework. Though affirmative approaches finally became prevalent, the didactic situation remained delicate, since the teaching of popular music was also subject to general debates on how school education shall be constituted. Subsequently, the subject “popular music” became more and more tied to overall educational goals, whereas the objective dimension was increasingly ignored. The paper aims to reconstruct the complex path from critical to post-critical didactic efforts, finally addressing current issues, especially the notion of popular music as cultural practice. The “paradigm shift” towards affirmation is demonstrated on the basis of both theoretical works and curricular sources.

En el marco de esas culturas destaca la hebrea que asume aspectos culturales foráneos, los recompone y da un salto original en su cultura, especialmente en el ámbito religioso. Lo anterior al establecer inequívocamente el monoteísmo, realizar mejores construcciones (entre lo religioso y lo astronómico) y crear un Dios con fuerte contenido ético, que trasciende del ámbito nacional al universal.
