Enhancing self-confidence as female academics through sharing experiences

Background: In higher education (HE), female academics frequently experience self-doubt, imposter syndrome and marginalisation, which can negatively impact their self-confidence. These challenges are intensified by systemic gender biases and exclusionary institutional cultures.
Objectives: This study explores how two female academics situated within the South African HE context reclaimed their self-confidence through participation in an informal community of practice (CoP). It examines how relational and reflective support can contribute to academic identity formation and professional growth.
Methods: Using collaborative autoethnography (CAE), the authors reflected on their lived experiences of navigating academic spaces. As both participants and co-researchers, they drew on personal narratives to explore the intersections of career confidence, institutional culture and gendered experiences. Framed by Moon’s Theory of Academic Assertiveness, Feminist Voice Theory and Feminist Praxis, the authors employed thematic analysis to identify and interpret key patterns within their reflections.
Results: The study revealed five interrelated themes: (1) gendered barriers and structural inequity, (2) emotional toll and loss of confidence, (3) disrupted career trajectories, (4) the transformative potential of shared vulnerability and (5) the empowering role of a CoP. Informal peer support was found to be a powerful mechanism for enhancing confidence and fostering resilience.
Conclusion: Self-confidence in academia is not a given but is shaped by institutional contexts and interpersonal support. While structural reforms are essential, grassroot communities of practice offer meaningful, affirming spaces for career development and self-empowerment.
Contribution: This study highlights how informal, reflective partnerships can serve as tools for building self-confidence among female academics, offering valuable insights for career development, mentorship and institutional transformation.

Emotional intelligence predicting subject-specific academic success: EQ-i Youth in South Africa

Background: Academic performance has been perceived as an element, which can change the lives of youth, while emotional intelligence (EI) often relates to adolescents’ well-being and, in turn, can influence academic performance. Emotional intelligence development is related to multiple beneficial outcomes and deemed a valuable tool for educational and career planning. However, there is a need for more EI-related guidance in youth interventions.
Objectives: To inform such guidance, this is the first study that aimed to confirm the relationship between the academic results of South African adolescents and EI (measured using an updated assessment and newer EI model). It also aimed to determine whether specific EI scales were dominant predictors of subject-specific academic results.
Methods: A quantitative research study was conducted following a non-experimental, correlational research design and stratified random sampling method. The study was conducted in secondary schools across South Africa. Academic results and EI scores of 284 adolescents between 13 and 19 years were available for correlational and regression-based dominance analysis techniques.
Results: Results confirmed a significant positive relationship between total EI scores and academic year averages. Prominent findings included the decision making composite, which had the strongest relationship with and was the most dominant predictor of most compulsory subject averages.
Conclusion: The results point to the importance of considering learners’ EI as a contributing aspect to their school performance, by incorporating learner-tailored EI testing and development at a school level.
Contribution: Findings contribute to the criterion validity of the EQ-i Youth assessment and can guide teaching and career guidance initiatives in incorporating tailored EI strategies for learner development.

طراحی و اعتباریابی الگوی یادگیری مشارکتی بهمنظور پرورش مهارتهای رهبری در کودکان دبستانی

مرور ادبیات نشان میدهد توسعه مهارتهای رهبری دانشآموزان از طریق رویکردهای فعال یاددهی-یادگیری نظیر یادگیری مشارکتی کمتر مورد بررسی قرار گرفته است. این مطالعه آمیخته قصد دارد چگونگی پرورش مهارتهای رهبری دانشآموزان در محیط یادگیری مشارکتی را مورد واکاوی قرار دهد. ابتدا 39 سند علمی بر اساس روش سندلوسکی و باروسو بررسی شده و دادهها با استفاده از نرمافزار اطلس تی کدگذاری شده است. بهمنظور توسعه دادهها از گروههای کانونی استفادهشده و الگوی بهدستآمده از دو مطالعه کیفی از طریق تحلیل عاملی تأییدی ارزیابیشده است. نتایج مدل معادلات ساختاری و نرمافزار لیزرل نشان داد الگو از برازش لازم برخوردار است. یافتهها نشان داد وابستگی درونی مثبت و متقابل بهعنوان یکی از عناصر یادگیری مشارکتی مهارت گوش دادن، احترام به دیگران، همکاری، ارتباط، مقبولیت و همدلی را تقویت میکنند. مسئولیتپذیری بهعنوان دومین عنصر، مهارت اعتمادبهنفس، عزتنفس، رعایت حقوق دیگران را بهبود میبخشد. مهارت بین فردی در توسعه مهارتهای تعاملی و ارتباطی نقش دارد و مهارت حل مسئله، حل تعارض، هدایت و هوشیاری گروهی را در دانش آموزان توسعه میدهد. همچنین تعامل بهعنوان چهارمین عنصر مهارت برقراری ارتباط و حل مسئله را بهبود میبخشد. نتایج میتواند ضمن افزایش تمایل معلمان به استفاده از رویکرد یادگیری مشارکتی، سیاستگذاران آموزشی را ترغیب کند تا محتوای درسی را با تمرکز بر این رویکرد تنظیم کنند و در طراحی سرفصل دورههای آموزش معلمان این رویکرد را موردتوجه قرار دهند.

Exploring factors that influence students’ career decision making at a South African University

Background: Student career decision-making has attracted research attention in the last two decades especially when it comes to choosing tertiary education. Exploring current experiences that influence undergraduate students in career decision making is seen as critical to informing career counselling practice and/or intervention. Such initiatives are seen to benefit academic institutions and academic advisors.
Objectives: This study explored both individual and systemic influences through gauging the experiences of a sample of undergraduate students.
Method: Utilising a qualitative design and a hermeneutic phenomenological approach, the research aimed to contribute to explore trends influencing career decision making of students in higher education, through semi-structured interviews and thematically analysing interview transcripts. The interview questions were explored in relation to the ecological systems framework.
Results: The study identified both internal and external factors (themes) influencing the decision-making process of students in higher education. The application of an ecological systems approach was found to be best aligned to understanding this phenomenon in practice.
Conclusion: Making a career decision can be a challenging task and individuals often face many difficulties prior to or during this process. Factors identified were located at both the individual level and systemic level of influences and highlighted the significance of ecological models to design intervention.
Contribution: The role of different factors that influence young people’s career decision making in developing contexts such as South Africa, contributed to knowledge on informed approaches in career decision making to support career counsellors and academics in designing appropriate career counselling intervention to address contemporary realities.

فراتحلیلی بر مطالعات آموزش شغلی با تاکید بر مهارتهای کارآفرینانه برای دانشآموزان دوره دوم متوسطه

هدف: پژوهش حاضر با هدف فراتحلیل مطالعات آموزش شغلی مهارتهای کارآفرینانه برای دانشآموزان دوره دوم متوسطه انجام شد. روش: روش پژوهش فراتحلیل بود. بر اساس کلیدواژههای کارآفرینی، برنامه شغلی، آموزش شغلی، کارآفرین و کارآفرینانه، بوسیله گوگل اسکالر مقالات بین سالهای 1388-1401 در ایران جستجو شدند. 35 مقاله دارای ملاکهای ورود، انتخاب و با روش فراتحلیل کریپندروف (2023) تحلیل شدند. یافتهها: نتایج حاکی از آن بود که پژوهشهای حوزه آموزش کارآفرینی روی برنامههای کاربردی تمرکز نکردهاند و بیشتر به جنبههای نظری و محتوایی پرداختهاند. آموزش کارآفرینی میانرشتهای است و بیشتر فعالیتهای کارآفرینی توسط گروههای اقلیت زنان، مهاجران، جوانان، اقلیتهای مذهبی و افراد معلول انجام میشود. همچنین بیشتر پژوهشها بوسیله پژوهشگران دارای تخصصهای گوناگون، گروهی، تکمقطعی و با موضوعات متنوع انجام شدهاند و دادهها در یک مقطع زمانی گردآوری شدهاند. نتیجهگیری: آموزش کارآفرینی فرآیندی پویا است بنابراین پژوهش کارآفرینی باید طولی و چندمقطعی انجام شود. تنوع رشتههای پژوهشگران حاکی از میانرشتهای بودن کارآفرینی است و پژوهشهای گروهی در موضوعات متنوع، بر مشارکت هدفمند و متمرکز پژوهشگران تاکید دارد. لذا به این موضوع بسیار مهم باید توجه کرد. داشتن دیدگاه علمی نظاممند و همهجانبه در آموزش کارآفرینی بسیار مهم است و در برنامههای آموزش کارآفرینی، بخشهای گوناگون باید توسعه یابند. بومیسازی برنامههای آموزش کارآفرینی در سطوح نگرشی، راهبردی و عملیاتی میتواند یک راهکار عملی در آموزش شغلی کارآفرینی باشد.

The psychological factors influencing youth moving from unemployment to employment in South Africa

Background: Youth unemployment in South Africa has increased significantly over the past decade. There are, however, stories of success in securing employment. Exploring factors influencing these successes is important because they may inform interventions that have the potential to increase youth employment.
Objectives: This study explored the experiences of four black female, South African youth who successfully transitioned from unemployment to employment.
Methods: Utilising a qualitative design methodology and the inductive thematic analysis of semi-structured interviews, data were gathered from four first-time employed participants regarding their experiences of progressing from unemployment to employment.
Results: Four main themes emerged from the analysis that highlighted the psychological impact of looking for employment among South African youth. The themes examined the value participants placed on tertiary education, the loss of identity caused by the negative consequences of job-search rejection, the positive impact of kin support and the influence of the participants’ psychological strengths. The final theme elucidated the participants’ positive identity formation post-employment.
Conclusion: The results from this study underscored the value of kin support, the use of specific psychological strengths in securing employment and the timing of identity formation in the school-to-work transition phase for South African youth.
Contribution: This study may contribute to the existing body of literature on youth unemployment, understanding the psychological impact of the journey to employment and the factors that contribute to securing employment.

Proceso de desarrollo vocacional en la población adulta mayor: un análisis desde el modelo DOTS

Objetivo: Analizar el proceso de desarrollo vocacional desde la perspectiva de las personas adultas mayores en su etapa del ciclo vital, utilizando el modelo DOTS propuesto por Law y Watts.
Metodología: Se fundamentó en el paradigma naturalista y se utilizó un diseño de estudio de caso que involucró a cuatro personas adultas mayores. Se recopilaron datos a través de entrevistas y cuatro técnicas de recolección de información. Para el análisis, se aplicó una triangulación de los resultados recopilados.
Resultados: La perspectiva de las personas adultas mayores sobre su etapa del ciclo vital está influenciada por múltiples factores vocacionales intrínsecos y extrínsecos que se han desarrollado a lo largo de sus experiencias personales, emocionales, laborales y familiares. La mayoría de los participantes coincide en que la adultez mayor puede ser una etapa que les permita seguir aprendiendo nuevas actividades y cumplir sueños y metas que antes no habían realizado. El modelo DOTS proporciona una ruta que fomenta la reflexión y la acción en favor de las necesidades personales de cada individuo como un sujeto activo en la sociedad.
Conclusiones: Este modelo considera y analiza lo que cada participante hace por sí mismo en función de sus características personales para aprovechar las oportunidades que ofrece su entorno. Esto refleja la importancia de la autodeterminación y el empoderamiento de las personas adultas mayores en su desarrollo vocacional y en la búsqueda de cumplir sus metas y deseos en esta etapa de la vida.

‘Are there gay men in the mines?’ Towards unsettling the heteronormative male occupational culture in mining

Background: Available literature indicates that the male occupational culture of the South African mining industry marginalises and excludes women; however, limited attention has been given to the heteronormative element of this occupational culture and its implications on gay identities. There is a need to interrogate the heteronormative male occupational culture and how it hinders the visibility of gay men.
Objectives: This study aims to explore how the heteronormative occupational culture of the mining industry facilitates the visibility of gay male identities.
Method: This study is based on qualitative data that were collected through in-depth interviews with five black gay mineworkers who were based in small mining towns located in North West and Mpumalanga provinces.
Results: This study found that the heteronormative male occupational culture of the mining industry is maintained through the perpetuation of religious arguments and cultural traditions that validate heterosexuality as a central component of masculinity. The findings indicate that sexual diversity is not acknowledged in the mining industry, and this contributes to the invisibility of gay men because the fear of stigma and discrimination silences them.
Conclusion: A heteronormative male occupational culture undermines gay identities and informs the unequal distribution of power between heterosexual and gay men. As such, the mining industry should promote sexual diversity and develop safe working environments for gay men.
Contribution: The study brings forth the voices of a silenced sexual minority and interrogates the exclusive heteronormative mining occupational culture to encourage the development of inclusive mining workplaces.

تحلیل عوامل مؤثر بر شهود کارآفرینی سازمانی

کارآفرینی فرآیند شناسایی، ارزیابی و بهرهبرداری از فرصتهای نوین کسبوکار است و تشخیص این فرصتها براساس رویکرد شهودی انجام میشود. هدف پژوهش حاضر تحلیل عوامل مؤثر بر شهود کارآفرینی سازمانی بود که به صورت مطالعه موردی در بانک ملی ایران انجام شده است. این پژوهش از لحاظ هدف، کاربردی و از حیث روش اجرا، توصیفی- پیمایشی بود که با رویکرد آمیخته اکتشافی انجام شده است. جامعه آماری در مرحله کیفی، 30 نفر از خبرگان دانشگاهی و سازمانی بودند که به روش قضاوتی و گلوله برفی انتخاب شدند و در مرحله کمی، کلیه مدیران و رؤسای شعب بانک ملی ایران به تعداد 3476 نفر بودند که حجم نمونه مطابق جدول کرجسی و مورگان 346 نفر تعیین و برای نمونه گیری از روش تصادفی ساده استفاده شد. برای شناسایی عوامل از روش دلفی و برای تحلیل روابط بین متغیرها از روش مدلسازی معادلات ساختاری با نرمافزار Smart PLS3 استفاده شده است. نتایج دلفی نشان دادند عوامل مؤثر بر شهود کارآفرینی سازمانی، شامل 42 مؤلفه در قالب هفت بعد (سبک شناختی شهودی، ریسکپذیری، تخصص شهودی، بینش شهودی، تشخیص فرصت، تحمل ابهام، قضاوت شهودی) میباشند. همچنین نتایج مدلسازی معادلات ساختاری نشان دادند سبکشناختی شهودی (387/0)، ریسکپذیری (406/0)، تخصص شهودی (410/0)، بینش شهودی (395/0)، تشخیص فرصت (322/0)، تحمل ابهام (341/0) و قضاوت شهودی (359/0) بر شهود کارآفرینی سازمانی در بانک ملی ایران تأثیر مثبت و معنیداری دارند.

ارائه مدل بومگردی با تأکید بر کارآفرینی و اشتغال پایدار روستایی با رویکرد آمیخته

زندگی و فضای جامعهی روستایی مملو از کار و اشتغال است اما بیشترین افراد جویای کار در شهرها را همین گروه تشکیل میدهند؛ بومگردی میتواند بار دیگر این افراد را در محیط روستا جمع کند. این پژوهش نیز با هدف طراحی مدلی برای بومگردی با تأکید بر کارآفرینی و اشتغال پایدار روستایی با دو رویکرد کیفی و کمّی انجام شد. جامعهی آماری این پژوهش در مرحلهی کیفی، مدیران و کارشناسان ارشد سازمان میراث فرهنگی و گردشگری استان اردبیل و در مرحلهی کمّی، کارکنان سازمان میراث فرهنگی و گردشگری بودند. برای تعیین حجم نمونه در مرحلهی کیفی از روش نمونهگیری گلولهبرفی استفاده و تعداد 20 نفر انتخاب و در مرحلهی کمّی به دلیل استفاده از روش مدلسازی معادلات ساختاری، از روش کلشماری به جای نمونهگیری استفاده گردید که در نهایت 208 پرسشنامه مورد تجزیه و تحلیل قرار گرفت. ابزار گردآوری دادهها در مرحلهی کیفی، مصاحبهی عمیق با خبرگان که به روش دلفی و در سه راند انجام گرفت و در مرحلهی کمّی نیز از پرسشنامهیِ محققساختهیِ منتج از مرحلهی کیفی استفاده گردید. بر اساس نتایج حاصل از پژوهش، 40 شاخصِ شناساییشده برای مدل، در 7 بُعد؛ پتانسیلهای طبیعی، عوامل اجتماعی و فرهنگی، زیرساختها و تسهیلات بومگردی، عوامل آموزشی و ترویجی، رشد اقتصادی، سیاستگذاری و پتانسیلهای گردشگری طبقهبندی شدند. مقدار ضریب هماهنگی کندال در دور سوم بیانگر اتفاقنظر مطلوب میان اعضای پانل بود. تحلیل عاملی تائیدی که با استفاده از نرمافزار Amos انجام گرفت، نشان داد تمامی شاخصهای سنجش سازهی بومگردی دارای بار عاملی بالایی بوده و مورد تأیید قرار گرفتند.

Trajectories of Newly Arrived Migrants in the Swedish Introduction Program

In a 2010 policy reform, the centre-right Swedish government attempted to bring the area of integration policy into closer alignment with labour market policy for newly arrived migrants. In this paper, empirical data gathered from 181 individual case files from the Public Employment Service (PES) is used to analyse the different trajectories of migrants. I construct a typology of five different sub-groups to explore how migrants manage the different challenges of the policy program. The main contribution of the article is to highlight the individual differences among the group and how various strategies are formed within the same policy framework.

Identification and assessment of Effective Factors and consequences of managers' self-efficacy with resonant leadership role in knowledge-based organizations

Self-efficacy as one of the most important mechanisms of influence on one's own and one of the most important constructs of positive organizational behavior has been studied less in the field of organizational issues. The aim of this combined research in the first stage, with qualitative research strategy, identifies the components and dimensions of self-efficacy of the managers of knowledge-based organizations and its influential factors, as well as the implications and its impact on collective self-efficacy of employees. This has been done using three coding steps and with the help of the Atlas Quality Assurance Software. Also, the role of important and effective categories on the self-efficacy as the resonant leadership is considered. In the second stage, the relationships of exploration pattern elements in the form of two models of measurement and structural equations have been quantitatively tested using SPSS and AMOS software. For this purpose, a researcher-made questionnaire was distributed among 204 managers of research companies of Isfahan science and technology town. The results of the test represent the confirmation of all the hypotheses as well as the adequacy of the conceptual model of the research.

Studying and analyzing the impact of health- promoting leadership on employees’ intention to stay

The physical and mental health of employees is an important and, at the same time, somewhat neglected topic in organizations of the present age. It seems that managers of organizations can, by directing their leadership style towards this, effect on shifting and leaving employees. The new issue addressed in leadership discussions is the concept of health- promoting leadership. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between health- promoting leadership and employee intent to stay. This research is applied and in terms of data collection, descriptive and correlation type, and is specifically based on path analysis. The statistical population of this research includes all staff of the provincial headquarters of South Khorasan Electric Power Distribution Company, which was ranked 90 personnel according to the company's internal statistics. Sampling was done by simple random sampling. Morgan sampling table was used to estimate the sample size. The data collection tool is a questionnaire. For this purpose, a questionnaire used by Jimenez et al. (2016) was used to measure the health promoting leadership variable, and Hunt, Osborn and Martin (1981) questionnaires were used to measure the intention to stay. The results of the research hypothesis test indicate that the main hypothesis of the research on the impact of health- promoting leadership on worker's intention to stay was confirmed. Among the seven components of health- promoting leadership, only how employees control effected on their intention to stay and the impact of other health -promoting leadership components on employees’ intention to stay was not meaningful.

DROPPING OUT OF VOCATIONAL TRAINING – HUNGARIAN EXPERIENCES

Despite the improving level of education in Hungary, the proportion of people with low school qualification who are permanently excluded from the labour market is still significant. For them – even under current labour market circumstances – the supply of jobs is very limited, hence, their employment rate is decreasing, while their unemployment and inactivity are rising. The study focuses on the issue of secondary school dropout in international and Hungarian, theoretical and empirical contexts. The importance of the subject is due to the fact that early school leaving is a complex phenomenon that affects a range of areas outside the educational and training system, therefore the management of the problem is a priority. Using the methodology of questionnaire surveys and semi-structured conversations, the study aimed at the exploration of the school life of people who dropped out of vocational training, the conditions of dropping out and the applied compensatory measures. The sole solution for the people concerned is public employment and the various types of aid that further increase their marginalization. Results of the study pointed out the impact of family background, the positive experience of school reintegration, and the role of career choice based on misinformation or compulsion. Conclusions of the study provide an adequate framework for the development of an action plan that may serve as a basis for future prevention, intervention and compensation developments. The conclusion of the research is that due to the strong family ties of the dropped out people it would have been rational for the school to focus on preventive measures in the form of closer contact with parents. Increasing the role of homeroom teachers might also be a key factor in preventing early school leaving. The results point to the conclusion that the presence of career guidance sessions is not sufficiently emphasized in educational institutions. As a suggestion, it could be argued that higher level teaching of learning techniques and the elimination of skill deficits could be a key element of education not only in the field of adult education but already in ninth grade, trying to prevent dropping out before it is realized.
بینالمللیسازی کسبوکارهای کوچک و متوسط و چالشهای کسبوکارهای روستایی

ویژگیهای کسبوکارهای روستایی، به خاطر تأثیری که در رشد و ایجاد تنوع در فعالیتهای اقتصادی میگذارد، روزبهروز افزایش پیدا میکند. در این میان رویکردهای جدیدی برای توسعه اقتصاد روستایی و جوامع روستایی شناساییشده است. یکی از این رویکردها، شناسایی فرصتهای ملی و بینالمللی است که منجر به رشد و توسعه کسبوکارهای روستایی شده است. یکی از ضروریات کشورهای درحالتوسعه، حرکت شرکتهای کوچک و متوسط به سمت بینالمللیشدن میباشد، چراکه فشار رقابتی در حال افزایش و از طرفی کمکهای مالی مستقیم و پشتیبانی از طرف دولتها کاهشیافته است. حرکت از بازار ملی به بازار بینالمللی یک تصمیم بسیار مهم برای کسبوکارهای کوچک و متوسط که با پایه مالی کم و تمرکزی محلی و حوزه جغرافیایی محدودی هستند، محسوب میشود. با در نظر گرفتن اهمیت موضوع، هدف اصلی این مقاله بررسی موانع و چالشهای بینالمللیسازی کسبوکارهای روستایی است. بر اساس نتایج پژوهشها مشخص شد که بینالمللیسازی کسبوکارهای روستایی با موانع و چالشهای متعددی مواجه میباشند که میتوان آنها را به دودسته مشکلات کلان و خرد تقسیم کرد. فاکتورهای محیط نهادی، چالش انتخاب حالت ورود، موانع مرتبط با زبان و فرهنگ، موانع مرتبط با گواهی سلامت و استانداردسازی از مشکلات کلان که خارج از کنترل شرکت هستند و اغلب بهعنوان مشکلات برونزا طبقهبندی میشوند. قابلیتهای سازمان داخلی و منابع انسانی مانند چالش سرمایههای انسانی و مدیریت، بازاریابی صادرات، دانش و ناسازگاری شبکه، فنّاوری و چالشهای سرمایه اجتماعی از مشکلات خرد که قابلکنترل هستند محسوب میشوند.

Penelitian ini dilakukan berdasarkan fenomena yang terjadi pada siswa kelas VIII F SMP Negeri 2 Kajen yang memiliki kemampuan penyesuaian diri yang kurang di lingkungan baru. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh layanan informasi bidang sosial dengan teknik sosiodrama terhadap penyesuaian diri siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen dengan metode pre-experiment. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuh kali pemberian perlakuan pada siswa kelas VIII F SMP Negeri 2 Kajen, dengan subjek penelitian 36 siswa. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah skala penyesuaian diri. teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif presentase dan uji t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penyesuaian diri sisw pada kategori sedang dengan presentase (64%). Setelah diberikan perlakuan melalui layanan informasi bidang sosial dengan teknik sosiodrama terjadi peningkatan penyesuaian diri pada kategori tinggi dengan presentase (78%). Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa layanan informasi bidang sosial dengan teknik sosiodrama berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan penyesuaian diri siswa.
This study was conducted based on the phenomenon that accurs in the students of class VIII F SMP Negeri 2 Kajen wich has the ability of self adjustment that is lacking in the new enviroment. The purpose of this study is to know the influence of the social information service with sociodrama technique against self adjustment of student. The type of research is experiment with pre-experiment method. This research was carried out with seven treatment times in the class VIII F SMP Negeri 2 Kajen, with subject research 36 students. Data collesction method used is the scale self adjustment. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis of the percentage and the t-test. The results show student self adjustment in the medium category with a percentage (64%). After being given a treatment through social information service with sociodrama technique increase of self adjustment in the high category with percentage (78%). This show that the social information service with sociodrama technique affect on the increased self adjustment of students.

This research aims to find out the extent of the role of MGBK in support of the profession of guidance and counselling and profesional competence of counselor MGBK member’s. The type of in this research is a survey research. Population in this research is the entire BK teacher/counselors who are members of MGBK SMP Negeri Semarang who attended the activities of MGBK, while sampling used in this research is purposive sampling technique. Data collection method using question form is the role of MGBK and profesional competence, while testing the validity of the instrument using the formula product moment and reliability of instruments with the formula Alpha, data analysis techniques used descriptive analysis of percentage. Based on the analysis results obtained average percentage of the role MGBK SMP Negeri Semarang of 64% so entered in the criteria of "good enough", while the average percentage of the profesional competence of counselors of 69% so entered in the criteria of "good".

Perbedaan Motivasi Berprestasi antara Siswa Reguler dengan Siswa Program Keluarga Harapan (PKH)

This research has been implemented according to phenomenon in several elementary school state of Boja region which indicate the diversity between regular students and Conditional Cash Transfers (CCT) students. The objective of this research is to observe the difference of achievement motivation between regular students and CCT students. The population are 27 public elementary schools in Boja and the sample are 12 public elementary schools with 60 regular students and 60 CCT students using purposive sampling technique. The instrument has been tested for validity used product moment and reliability of the instrument with alpha formula. Data analysis techniques used that is analysis descriptive percentage. The researcher used statistical t-test analysis technique to analyze the data. The result showed significant number at 0,618. Based result t-test of achievement motivation score tcount= 9,042> ttable= 1,980 or meaning Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. The result of this research is that there is difference achievement motivation between regular students and CCT students. Therefore, teachers are expected to give support and guidance to regular students and conditional CCT students in order to increase the student’s acievement motivation in a better way.

This research aims to obtain an overview of the implementation of the SMA needs assessment in Kudus and teacher ratings of the software DCM® BK. This form of research evaluation studies software DCM® used by school counselor in SMA Negeri Kabupaten Kudust by qualitative descriptive research. The study involved a school counselor as the primary data source and school personnel as a secondary data source. The technique of collecting data using interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis including data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results of research in the field shows that school counselor SMA Negeri Kabupaten Kudus and already using several types of devices. In analyzing the results of DCM are already using software DCM®, but the operationalize software DCM® still experiencing difficulties, difficulties occurred due to the design of software that still has a weakness or a lack of skills in information technology owned school counselor, it can be concluded that appraisal to software DCM® school counselor are less effective for use in the programming need assessment.
