Abnormal handling mechanism and improvement measures of optical DC current transformer in smart grid environment

Shihao Zhou, Hansong Tang, Benren Pan et al.

An optical DC current transformer anomaly handling mechanism is proposed to address the problem that the conventional DC current transformer anomaly handling mechanism cannot compensate for the defect of capacitor anomaly blocking. First, the implementation principle, modulation loop, demodulation method and its anomaly warning mechanism of the sine-wave modulated all-fibre-optic current transformer (FOCT) are investigated, and the effects of light source intensity and modulation voltage on current decoding are explained. The modulation loop is then simulated and modelled and a FOCT anomaly handling mechanism is proposed based on the Bessel function with real-time dynamic current compensation for small changes in modulation depth. Finally, an integrated dynamic test system for DC current transformers and DC protection is designed, and the actual system operation and fault model is established using the RTDS simulation system. The experiments demonstrate that the proposed FOCT anomaly handling and improvement measures can effectively improve the transient performance of FOCT, and at the same time provide a complete set of testing means for the engineering application and later upgrade and replacement of FOCT.

Electrophoretic and cytochemical characterization of alpha-naphthyl acetate esterases in acute myeloid leukemia: relationships with membrane receptor and monocyte-specific antigen expression

CS Scott, DC Linch, AG Bynoe et al.

Abstract Alpha-naphthyl acetate esterases (ANAE) were examined by cytochemical and isoelectric focusing (IEF) techniques in 48 cases of acute myeloid leukemia that were classified by conventional morphological criteria. Four main types of ANAE isoenzyme patterns were found by IEF, and comparisons with the expression of membrane receptors (Fc-IgG and C3b) and monocyte-specific antigens (UCHM1, UCHALF, and E11) suggest relationships between ANAE isoenzyme synthesis and distinct myeloid maturational stages. The results further indicate that the blast cells of acute myelomonocytic leukemia (AMML) may represent an immature variant of monocytic leukemia (AMoL) and that morphological examination alone is inadequate in the assessment of monocytic differentiation in acute myeloid leukemias. Inhibition studies of cytochemical ANAE activity with sodium fluoride (NaF) show that the presence of NaF- sensitive or NaF-resistant ANAE enzymes is often unrelated to the diagnostic category of acute leukemia. The results of this study are examined in relation to current concepts of myeloid differentiation, and the application of these findings to the subclassification of acute myeloid leukemias is discussed.

Scattering lengths for Li–Cs, Na–Cs, K–Cs, and Rb–Cs ultracold collisions

A. L. M. Zanelatto, E. M. S. Ribeiro, R. d. J. Napolitano

We present triplet and singlet scattering lengths for X–Cs133 collisions (X=Li6,7, Na23, K39,40,41, and Rb85,87). We consider the short-range potential-energy curves based on high-quality ab initio calculations and the long-range potential described by accurate dispersion coefficients available in the literature. Using a Fermi function to smoothly connect the short- and long-range terms we construct the potential for all R and evaluate the scattering length for each mixed species X–Cs. In particular, we predict that the cross section for inelastic processes between Na23 and Cs133 and between K40 and Cs133 will be small as compared with the respective elastic cross sections.
