This study examines how contemporary frameworks of corporate purpose can inform the purpose of Catholic universities. It defines corporate purpose as a central objective that provides meaning to members and contributes to societal value, delineating inside-out and outside-in perspectives, and head, heart, and hands dimensions. Applying these frameworks to Catholic institutions, the paper discusses the importance of aligning purpose with Catholic beliefs, fostering intellectual inquiry, moral formation, and engagement with societal challenges. Then, it delves into how Catholic universities integrate organizational purpose with individual purposes both in Catholic and non-Catholic members. It examines the concepts of purpose fluidity and synergy, which enhance alignment between personal and organizational purposes. Strategies for promoting these concepts, such as clear communication and consistent management, are discussed. Ultimately, integrating these frameworks enhances our understanding of the multifaceted role of Catholic universities’ purpose in contemporary society.

This study explores and tests the different factors affecting the revisit intentions of visitors to spiritual-cultural tourist destinations in Vietnam. A sample of 460 tourists participated in the study, which used AMOS software to test the relationship between the constructs and evaluate their reliability and validity. The research findings confirm that tourist satisfaction helps mediate the relationship between each emotional factor and visitors’ intentions to revisit spiritual-cultural sites. Four factors influencing tourist satisfaction in Vietnam are: (1) individual learning and research needs; (2) personal preference; (3) perceived value of site; and (4) religious belief. The fi ndings from the tests in variances indicate that the strength of the relationship between visitor satisfaction and revisit intention was different across male and female groups and stronger in female groups. Based on these findings, the paper gives recommendations for destination management organisations about how to better exploit cultural and spiritual tourism products, thus, diversifying tourism products and increasing their perceived value. Such measures will soon expand the spiritual-tourism destination choices of tourists.

Nigeria is a country in West Africa and the “lion of Africa” in general. Though it has nothing tangible to prove it. Gone are the days when the country was doing well, when the leaders’ aim was to uplift the country instead of looting the country. Then, leaders were known for their uprightness, unity in diversity and progress for all. These days, the leaders are characterized by selfishness, corruption, segregation, divide and rule, lopsided appointments that are not even based on expertise, all in the name of favouritism, and brotherliness. The economic crisis that bedevilled the country today is not spiritual but manmade. All these lead to the belief that corruption thrives among political leaders in Nigeria. This work, while aiming at analysing corruption in Nigeria, will look at how the church is helping in the fight against corruption in Nigeria. The findings of the work showed the church is doing her bit in fighting corruption although a lot is still required of her if corruption is to be stamped out in Nigeria.

The current research was conducted with the aim of philosophical-psychological explanation of the relationship between the soul and the body based on Islamic thought, emphasizing the view of Allameh Tabatabai. The findings were analyzed using qualitative content analysis (descriptive-analytical). Investigations have shown that Allameh Tabataba'i has made the philosophical foundations the main support of discussions in Quranic debates, and in some cases he has distanced himself from the method of interpreting the Quran to the Quran. Allameh Tabatabai, following the transcendental wisdom, believes that the relationship between the soul and the body is intrinsic and real from the point of view of Allameh Tabatabai, in such a way that they can never be separated from each other. The soul and the body with all the nervous and hormonal structure are two essences of different nature. The soul is immaterial and the body is physical and has material interactions. The reality of a person is his ego, and the body is a tool for the ego. Interactions in the realm of human existence are sensual activities, and the activities of the body as tools and underlying causes are associated with the activities of the soul, not that there is an independent thing called the activity of the body. In the psychological analysis of the relationship between the soul and the body, many cases of the effects of the soul on the body and the body on the soul were mentioned. Correct understanding in this category helps to find causes in behavioral phenomena and control them. The correct interpretation and analysis of the relationship between the soul and the body and the examination of different theories can be the basis for establishing scientific principles in this field.

Religious heritage can act as a transmitter of the age-old values linked to the identity of a territory, while reflecting on the relationship between the religious value and the monumental value of a place. This reflection is based on the initial premise that at present there are elements related to the architectural heritage of the church that have wholly or in part lost their use value as places of worship. After introducing the relationship between tangible and intangible heritage at religious sites and the role of tourism helping in the preservation (or not) of these values, the current situation is analyzed through a case study. The case study is focused on the Catalonia Sacra project and analyses 325 religious heritage sites from the region of Catalonia, in the north-east of Spain. Several sets of data were collected referring to the monumental and architectural values of these places and also the religious use of them, among others, with the aim to compare the relationship between the monumental values and the religious use of these sites.

The author suggests a new model for interpretation of mystical experience, based on a fruitful combination of cognitive psychology and depth psychology. Offering a rather wide definition of mystical experience, the author then turns to two basic assumptions—a general systems approach and an organismic-holistic view of development. Hans Loewald's analysis of primary process cognition is combined with a multi-dimensional model of cognitive activity called “Interacting Cognitive Subsystems” (ICS), presented by John D. Teasdale and Philip J. Barnard. These two complementary theoretical perspectives are applied to the analysis of both historical and contemporary examples of mystical experience, understood as a result of a dialectical interplay between these different coding systems, or the marriage between Ego and Id.
