Kinaesthetic Narrativization of Place in 360° Stereoscopic Flânerie
Aigars Ceplitis
In narrative film, space predominates over time, while in stereoscopic spherical cinema (3DSC), the transitions between spatial frames redefine the supremacy of space through orientational gaze and kinaesthetic flânerie by a deputy actant who explores the geopsychic space through the cartographic processes of narrativization. On one level, narrativization occurs through routes and geospatial cognitive mapping as well as horizontal cinescape projections within spatial frames. On the other level, it transpires at the intersection of a first-person perspective and platial experientiality, as the viewer’s body relocates, finding its place based on cultural, political, and social proximities. Thus, the coordinate system of 3DSC, inherently platial, is anchored in narrative pauses, devoid of temporal aspects except for the perpetual “now”. Whether 3DSC obliterates time through kinaesthetic wandering depends on the metalepsis of each narrative, the oscillating nature of the audience's perspectives, shifting between exocentric and egocentric views, ocularization and locus, auricularization and situatedness.

A Less Terrifying Universe? Mundanity as an Explanation for the Fermi Paradox
Robin H. D. Corbet
Applying a principle of "radical mundanity", this paper examines explanations for the lack of strong evidence for the presence of technology-using extraterrestrial civilizations (ETCs) in the Galaxy - the Fermi paradox. With this principle, the prospect that the Galaxy contains a modest number of civilizations is preferred, where none have achieved technology levels sufficient to accomplish large-scale astro-engineering or lack the desire to do so. This consideration also leads to the expectation that no ETC will colonize a large fraction of the Galaxy, even using robotic probes, and that there are no long-duration high-power beacons. However, there is a reasonable chance that we may make contact on a short, by historical standards, timescale. This event would be momentous, but could still leave us slightly disappointed. Such a Universe would be less terrifying than either of the two possibilities in the quote generally attributed to Arthur C. Clarke on whether we are alone or not. Also, if there is a modest number of ETCs in the Galaxy, that would suggest that there is a large number of planets with some form of life.
Text Region Multiple Information Perception Network for Scene Text Detection
Jinzhi Zheng, Libo Zhang, Yanjun Wu
et al.
Segmentation-based scene text detection algorithms can handle arbitrary shape scene texts and have strong robustness and adaptability, so it has attracted wide attention. Existing segmentation-based scene text detection algorithms usually only segment the pixels in the center region of the text, while ignoring other information of the text region, such as edge information, distance information, etc., thus limiting the detection accuracy of the algorithm for scene text. This paper proposes a plug-and-play module called the Region Multiple Information Perception Module (RMIPM) to enhance the detection performance of segmentation-based algorithms. Specifically, we design an improved module that can perceive various types of information about scene text regions, such as text foreground classification maps, distance maps, direction maps, etc. Experiments on MSRA-TD500 and TotalText datasets show that our method achieves comparable performance with current state-of-the-art algorithms.

Dataset Management Platform for Machine Learning
Ze Mao, Yang Xu, Erick Suarez
The quality of the data in a dataset can have a substantial impact on the performance of a machine learning model that is trained and/or evaluated using the dataset. Effective dataset management, including tasks such as data cleanup, versioning, access control, dataset transformation, automation, integrity and security, etc., can help improve the efficiency and speed of the machine learning process. Currently, engineers spend a substantial amount of manual effort and time to manage dataset versions or to prepare datasets for machine learning tasks. This disclosure describes a platform to manage and use datasets effectively. The techniques integrate dataset management and dataset transformation mechanisms. A storage engine is described that acts as a source of truth for all data and handles versioning, access control etc. The dataset transformation mechanism is a key part to generate a dataset (snapshot) to serve different purposes. The described techniques can support different workflows, pipelines, or data orchestration needs, e.g., for training and/or evaluation of machine learning models.
A Secure Medical Record Sharing Scheme Based on Blockchain and Two-fold Encryption
Md. Ahsan Habib, Kazi Md. Rokibul Alam, Yasuhiko Morimoto
Usually, a medical record (MR) contains the patients disease-oriented sensitive information. In addition, the MR needs to be shared among different bodies, e.g., diagnostic centres, hospitals, physicians, etc. Hence, retaining the privacy and integrity of MR is crucial. A blockchain based secure MR sharing system can manage these aspects properly. This paper proposes a blockchain based electronic (e-) MR sharing scheme that (i) considers the medical image and the text as the input, (ii) enriches the data privacy through a two-fold encryption mechanism consisting of an asymmetric cryptosystem and the dynamic DNA encoding, (iii) assures data integrity by storing the encrypted e-MR in the distinct block designated for each user in the blockchain, and (iv) eventually, enables authorized entities to regain the e-MR through decryption. Preliminary evaluations, analyses, comparisons with state-of-the-art works, etc., imply the efficacy of the proposed scheme.
Integrated perturbation theory for cosmological tensor fields. III. Projection effects
Takahiko Matsubara
The integrated perturbation theory (iPT) is a set of methods in nonlinear perturbation theory for the structure formation in the Universe. In Papers I and II [arXiv:2210.10435, arXiv:2210.11085], the basic formalism and technical methods of the iPT for cosmological tensor fields are developed, generalizing the corresponding theory for scalar fields. In previous papers, methods to predict statistical quantities, such as power spectra, correlation functions, etc., of three-dimensional tensor fields are developed based on the iPT. However, observations of tensors, such as angular momenta and shapes of galaxies, etc., are only possible after the three-dimensional tensors are projected onto the two-dimensional sky. In this paper, power spectra and correlation functions of projected two-dimensional tensors are related to those of original three-dimensional tensors, so that one can make predictions for the observable statistics of projected tensor fields from the iPT. The relations are consistently represented on the basis of irreducible decomposition of both two- and three-dimensional tensors.

The sub-diffusive behavior of chromatin in changing environment
Yevgeni Sh. Mamasakhlisov, Vladimir V. Papoyan
The rotor-router walk model is proposed to describe the sub-diffusive behavior of double-strand breaks in chromatin caused by external factors such as heavy ions, $γ$-irradiation, etc. The mechanism of the double-strand breaks reparation is considered in terms of this model.
Active Learning Framework to Automate NetworkTraffic Classification
Jaroslav Pešek, Dominik Soukup, Tomáš Čejka
Recent network traffic classification methods benefitfrom machine learning (ML) technology. However, there aremany challenges due to use of ML, such as: lack of high-qualityannotated datasets, data-drifts and other effects causing aging ofdatasets and ML models, high volumes of network traffic etc. Thispaper argues that it is necessary to augment traditional workflowsof ML training&deployment and adapt Active Learning concepton network traffic analysis. The paper presents a novel ActiveLearning Framework (ALF) to address this topic. ALF providesprepared software components that can be used to deploy an activelearning loop and maintain an ALF instance that continuouslyevolves a dataset and ML model automatically. The resultingsolution is deployable for IP flow-based analysis of high-speed(100 Gb/s) networks, and also supports research experiments ondifferent strategies and methods for annotation, evaluation, datasetoptimization, etc. Finally, the paper lists some research challengesthat emerge from the first experiments with ALF in practice.
Progress on the simulation tools for the SOXS spectrograph: Exposure time calculator and End-to-End simulator
M. Genoni, A. Scaudo, G. Li Causi
et al.
We present the progresses of the simulation tools, the Exposure Time Calculator (ETC) and End-to-End simulator (E2E), for the Son Of X-Shooter (SOXS) instrument at the ESO-NTT 3.58-meter telescope. The SOXS will be a single object spectroscopic facility, made by a two-arms high-efficiency spectrograph, able to cover the spectral range 350-2000 nanometer with a mean resolving power R$\approx$4500. While the purpose of the ETC is the estimate, to the best possible accuracy, of the Signal-to-Noise ratio (SNR), the E2E model allows us to simulate the propagation of photons, starting from the scientific target of interest, up to the detectors. We detail the ETC and E2E architectures, computational models and functionalities. The interface of the E2E with external simulation modules and with the pipeline are described, too. Synthetic spectral formats, related to different seeing and observing conditions, and calibration frames to be ingested by the pipeline are also presented.

Yuyao Shi, Aamir Abdullah Hayat, Sivanantham Vinu
et al.
Healthcare poses diverse logistic requirements, which resulted in the deployment of several distinctly designed robots within a hospital setting. Each robot comes with its overheads in the form of, namely, none/limited scaling, dedicated charging stations, programming interface, closed architecture, training requirements, etc. This paper reports on developing a reconfigurable logistic robot named WaspL. The design of WaspL caters to the requirement of high mobility, open robotic operating system architecture, multi-functionality, and evolvability features. It fulfills multiple logistics modes, like towing, lifting heavy payloads, forklifting low ground clearance objects, nesting of two WaspL} etc., fulfilling different applications required in hospital settings. The design requirements, mechanical layout, and system architecture are discussed in detail. The finite element modeling, attribute-based comparison with other standard robots, are presented along with experimental results supporting the WaspL design capabilities.
Su personaggio, pensiero e storia nel romanzo-monologo. Con esempi tratti da Peter Weiss e Wolfgang Hildesheimer
Serena Grazzini

Event-triggered Pulse Control with Model Learning (if Necessary)
Dominik Baumann, Friedrich Solowjow, Karl Henrik Johansson
et al.
In networked control systems, communication is a shared and therefore scarce resource. Event-triggered control (ETC) can achieve high performance control with a significantly reduced amount of samples compared to classical, periodic control schemes. However, ETC methods usually rely on the availability of an accurate dynamics model, which is oftentimes not readily available. In this paper, we propose a novel event-triggered pulse control strategy that learns dynamics models if necessary. In addition to adapting to changing dynamics, the method also represents a suitable replacement for the integral part typically used in periodic control.
Ultrasonic Blind Stick for Completely Blind People to Avoid any Kind of Obstacles
Arnesh Sen, Kaustav Sen, Jayoti Das
The ability to live without being controlled by any action, judgment and any outside factors including any opinions and regulations is defined by the term Independent. But in reality physical movement for travelling or simply walking through a crowded street pose great challenge for a visually impaired person. Also they must learn every detail about the home environment such as placement of tables; chairs etc. to prevent injury. Because of this disability they have to sacrifice their independence in daily living by depending on the sighted people in every busy place like bus, footpaths, railway stations etc. This paper aims to design an artificial navigating system with adjustable sensitivity with the help of ultrasonic proximity sensor to assist these blind persons to walk fearlessly and independently in both indoor and outdoor environment. This system can detect any type of upcoming obstacles and potholes using the reflection properties of ultrasound. Attachment of the system to different body areas makes its utilization more versatile and reliable.
Esiste la situazione narrativa camera eye?
Paolo Giovannetti
Camera-eye narrative technique has always been considered mainly as a fact of focalization, that is, the consequence of a methodical narrative use of external focalization. On the contrary, it may be stated that both external focalization and camera-eye forms depend upon a more general representational strategy. In fact, something like a camera-eye narrative situation probably exists.

Impact of Social Media Posts in Real life Violence: A Case Study in Bangladesh
Jibon Naher, Matiur Rahman Minar
Social Networking Site (SNS) is a great innovation of modern times. Facebook, Twitter etc. have become an everyday part of peoples' life. Among all SNSs, Facebook is the most popular social network all over the world. Bangladesh is no exception. People of Bangladesh use Facebook for social communication, online shopping, business, knowledge and experience sharing etc. As well as the various uses of SNSs, people sometimes find themselves involved in real life violence, provoked by some social media posts or activities. In this paper, we discussed some case studies in which real life violence is originated based on Facebook activities in Bangladesh. Facebook was used in these incidents intentionally or unintentionally mostly as a tool to trigger hatred and violence. We analyzed and discussed the real-world consequences of these virtual activities in social media. Lastly, we recommended possible future measurements to prevent such violence.
