This study aims to identify the appropriate perspective to describe non-mainstream feminist political thought of NU women. The authors found that political thought of NU women were categorized into the mainstream and non-mainstream thinking. Thought mainstream covers many of the issues associated with formal politics of women, gender equality, as well as sexuality. Mainstream thinkers give prescriptions on such issue through formal state politics and in public areas. While the women's non-mainstream political thought, although identifying the source and impact of the oppression of women is equal to mainstream thinking, they leave notes and analysis of different approaches. This study attempts to framing NU diverse political thought throught the four schools of feminism, the liberal feminism, marxist feminism, socialist feminism and radical feminism. This study found that the ideas of radical feminism turned out to give space to the explanation of political thought NU women's non-mainstream, where they tend to emerge from the lower classes, and not formally organized.

This paper maps a cartography of struggle to document the dynamic, living legacy of Menominee leader Ingrid Washinawatok El-Issa and her contribution to the decolonial possibilities of transnational Indigenous feminism. I propose that mapping a cartography of struggle is a useful way for movements to consider how the past informs the present and future possibilities of resistance and decoloniality.

Abstract The term gender studies is employed to cover a broad and heterogeneous conjuncture of research and academic production. Among the most certain foundations of this conjuncture is feminist thought, the field from which the category of gender was coined. The epistemological and conceptual framework that shapes the feminist movement is highlighted by an incessant production of ideas, proposals and other interventions in all areas of knowledge. This paper proposes a review of Gender Studies, specifically in the area of Feminist Legal Thought. I present and analyze the transformations of Feminist Jurisprudence as seen through the arguments around the subjects of law and equality, from its beginnings in the 1970s through to its dissemination and incorporation into other fields at the beginning of the new millennium. Keywords: Feminisms, equality, rights.

Discussions and reflections from the gender's perspective In this article we will reflect on realities and challenges of housing policies on the construction of subjects and citizenship. The gender's perspective is a rich look to discuss urban and housing interventions. Overcoming disparities requires identifying the physical and social obstacles and facilitate access to and ownership of the city to allow the exercise of citizenship and the establishment of appropriate conditions and environments. This means rethinking the vulnerability, problematize and provide new meaning to concepts of empowerment and participation and public private distinction regarding to needs. We reflect on the theory, empirical observations and interpretations of specific programs and projects "to reduce poverty focused on the habitat." With the approaches of social anthropology and gender's perspective in public policy analysis, we reviewed discourses and practices, categories, discursive systems and mechanisms, and show some mechanisms of exclusion. We focus on our professional and academic experience regarding to neighborhood improvement programs, of local implementation and relevant to Latin America as one of the most widely accepted urban answer in the last decades, as part of the "new approaches to housing policies ". We consider three dimensions: program design and definition of beneficiaries, the implementation process and participation, the proposed intervention and territorial aspects.

In this paper we study the role of women in the Phoenician-Punic religion and its relationship with some female deities associated with fertility, which has favored the acceptance of assumptions that come from areas that have traditionally been characterized by severely criticizing the opposite of what you are applying. The approach of a new view on the controversial practice of sacred prostitution associated with these goddesses to explore a new area of interesting study in an effort to challenge old assertions that have not found support epigraphic and archaeological evident.

University education is a field exhibiting a clear link between gender and youth. As concern former Latin American experiences, the first Argentinean medical women (Cecilia Grierson, Elvira Rawson Guiñazú, Adelma Gossweiler, Francisca Montaut and María Beljover) should be considered. During a period running from the second half of the XIX century to the first half of the XX century, they managed to overcome drawbacks dealing with matriculation, their study and qualification in medical schools as well as with their conditioned medical practice. They also struggled for many feminine rights. Their evocation acquires current implications.

Since the late ’90s, social programs to ameliorate the poverty conditions provoked by the neoliberal model have been applied in Argentina and in Latin America. These processes particularly affect women, as they are the privileged ‘target’ of those measures. This essay explores the ways in which the New Economics of the Family (NEF), in 90’s social programs, promotes the naturalization of women’s responsibility as homemakers, and defines them as functional to the objectives of palliative social policies. Such a vision profits from supposed natural ‘motherly virtues’, and far from promoting more egalitarian relations between women and men, reproduces gender and class discrimination by reinforcing the supposedly natural sexual division of labor.

This article shows how Simone de Beauvoir´s work was crucial in helping to understand female subjectivity as a process dominated by the prevailing cultural values. Her writings represent a statement against invisibility of women as subjects and anticipate most of what decades later will be called “gender”. Although “The Second Sex”, is a controversial work, with many different readings and with opinions we might not share on some occasions, it was also a driving force that explained how the shortage of women´s representation is a result of having read the difference of sex as an absolute asymmetry. The article analyses Simone de Beauvoir´ essays, her autobiographical novels and the numerous interviews she granted, in search for ele¬ments that might help us understand how the life and thoughts of this woman were shaped. Through a series of quotes from three of Simone de Beauvoir´s autobiographical works, the article contributes to identify some features in the construction of Beauvoir´s subjectivity through her writings about her father and mother, her contradictory relationship with them, her experiences as the eldest child and other childhood memories.
