ÍNDICE DE DESENVOLVIMENTO HUMANO SUSTENTÁVEL: uma abordagem para blocos econômicos a partir de países selecionados

Este trabalho propõe mensurar o nível de desenvolvimento humano sustentável para 57 países, distribuídos em oito blocos econômicos, considerando o ano de 2014. Especificamente, almeja-se avaliar quais países e blocos econômicos se desenvolvem de forma sustentável. Para tal, construiu-se o Índice Ambiental (IA), conforme proposto por Blancard & Hoarau (2013) e Chansarn (2014), utilizando-se a Análise Envoltória de Dados. Em seguida, mensurou-se o Índice de Desenvolvimento Humano Sustentável (IDHS) considerando a média geométrica das três dimensões do IDH e do IA, de acordo com a formulação sugerida por Blancard & Hoarau (2013) e Bravo (2014). Os resultados indicaram que, em geral, as nações obtiveram elevado IA e experimentaram melhorias em seu bem-estar. Portanto, conclui-se que estão empregando seus recursos naturais de forma eficiente.

Analisis Transaksi Jual Beli Mystery Box di E-Commerce Shopee dalam Tinjauan Etika Bisnis Islam

Transaksi mystery box banyak dilakukan di e-commerce dimana sistem penjualan barang ini tidal menyebutkan kriteria barang tersebut sehingga pembeli tidak akan mengetahui apa yang akan didapat. Pada sisi lain dalam Islam segala transaksi sangat diperhatikan sehingga harus sesuai dengan prinsip-prinsip syariah, tidak terlepas pula nilai etika bisnis islam dalam suatu bisnis dan merupakan satu kesatuan utuh yang perlu diperhatikan pada kompetitifnya persaingan bisnis saat ini untuk mendapatkan maslahah kedua belah pihak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui mekanisme jual beli mystery box dalam tinjauan etika bisnis Islam di e-commerce shopee. Metode penelitian yang dipakai yaitu kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan penelitian fenomenologi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu wawancara semi terstruktur, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan penjual mystery box belum melakukan bisnis yang sesuai etika bisnis Islam karena prinsip fundamental tauhid telah dilanggar. Penerapan etika bisnis Islam harus mengacu pada beberapa indikator yakni tauhid, kebenaran, tanggungjawab, kejujuran, dan juga kehendak bebas.

Formation of innovative-industrial cluster strategy by parallel and sequential real options

The subject of this study is the strategy of the innovative-industrial cluster. The purpose of this work is to form a cluster strategy using parallel and sequential real options. The method proposed for this involves applying a parallel real option when justifying the prospect of acquisition, and a sequential real option to assess the prospect of individual development. A parallel option involves assessing risky forms of financing as part of the cluster strategy presented by the core company. In this case, the operation "management buyout" (MBO) is considered, for example, from the managers of the parent organization. A sequential option implies the stage of cluster strategy implementation. In this case, we consider two options that make up the sequence of possible adjustments to the strategy of the core company. This is an option to develop experience in the cluster and an option to switch the cluster strategy. As an example of the implementation of the presented method, the process of forming a strategy for the development of a pilot electric power cluster, was considered. Here, a sequential option allows us to obtain a slightly higher net present value than the net present value of a parallel option. Therefore, the managers must themselves decide whether to negotiate on the acquisition or to independently develop further based on the stage of implementation of the cluster strategy. The second choice will allow the preservation and development of the pilot innovative-industrial cluster of the electric power industry in the region in accordance with the priorities of the region in which it is located. This will make it possible to further realise the innovative potential in the region.

Teoria Marxista da Dependência e Superexploração da Força de Trabalho: história e debate atual na América Latina

O artigo lista como unidade de análise a Teoria Marxista da Dependência que surgiu na década de 1960 na América Latina e procura lançar luz sobre o passado, mas principalmente busca preencher algumas lacunas sobre sus contribuições, sobretudo em relação ao conceito de Superexploração da Força de Trabalho à economia contemporânea. Para atingir seu objetivo, utilizou-se da metodologia histórico-bibliográfica-analítica e estabeleceu-se como procedimentos técnicos a abordagem sistemática por meio da avaliação crítica dos dados bibliográficos sobre o assunto. O artigo está dividido em duas seções: na primeira seção, apresentou-se as principais leituras e proposições dos teóricos precursores da Teoria Marxista da Dependência; na segunda seção, o texto concentrou-se em demonstrar como esta teoria está renascendo na América Latina e como os estudos acercam da Superexploração da Força de Trabalho está se consolidando em interessante ferramenta de análise econômica.

Ocena skuteczności równoważenia mobilności na obszarach metropolitalnych za pomocą bezpłatnego transportu zbiorowego

Rozwój miast, a zwłaszcza rozwój metropolitalny powoduje powstawanie barier mobilności. W szczególności konieczne jest równoważenie mobilności z wykorzystaniem niskoemisyjnych podsystemów transportowych. Równoważenie mobilności wymaga podejścia systemowego i stosowania różnych instrumentów. Jednym z nich jest cena usług publicznego transportu zbiorowego, w tym dyskutowana żywo propozycja wprowadzania bezpłatnego transportu zbiorowego w miastach. W Polsce zamiar wprowadzania bezpłatnego transportu zbiorowego zgłaszają coraz szerzej władze kolejnych miast uzasadniając to chęcią ograniczenia ruchu samochodów i tym samym zrównoważenia mobilności. Jednak skutki takich decyzji są wielokierunkowe i długookresowe, tymczasem argumenty uzasadniające efektywność bezpłatnego transportu miejskiego w równoważeniu mobilności nie znajdują jednoznacznego potwierdzenia w badaniach naukowych.

Democratic or Autocratic Leadership Style?Participative Management and its Links to rewarding Strategies and Job Satisfaction in SMEs

The paper aims at detecting relations between participative management and rewarding strategies as well as employees’ job satisfaction in SMEs. Unlike many studies which examine effectiveness of rewarding policies from a managerial perspective, the article takes employees’ point of view. The empirical part of the paper presents conclusions resulting from analyses of: employee strategic awareness, involvement in goal-setting processes and integration in discussion on company performance, linked to diverse rewarding systems applied in Polish enterprises. Results presented in the paper refer to data from 93 SMEs and 86 large companies, collected at the turn of 2013 and 2014. The authors’ research contributes to the discussion on rewarding strategies, demonstrating that involvement of employees in managerial activities is a precondition for developing performance-based rewarding strategies, and that such involvement makes employees more satisfied with their work. Thus the paper fills in the research gap on linking leadership styles with forms of and satisfaction with remuneration systems.

The Relationship between Foreign Direct Investments and EU Funding During the 2007–2013 Programming Period

The review of economic literature indicates that the 2007–2013 programming period has not yet been completely analyzed in terms of the EU funds and stock of FDI. Moreover, previous studies omitted most of the EU funds because they focused mainly on structural funds and cohesion funds. The main question of this paper is organized around whether there is a positive relationship between the stock of FDI and specific EU funds. We use a panel of 27 EU countries to analyze fifty policy variables from the 2007–2013 programming period with panel linear regression models. In contrast to analysis of previous programming periods, the results did not indicate that there was a statistically significant relationship between structural or cohesion funds and the stock of FDI. The results indicate instead that ceteris paribus FDI stock is influenced by EU funds for preservation and management of natural resources and the media 2007 programme. And more specifically that EUR 100 million increase of funds for preservation and management of natural resources increased FDI stock by 1,01%–2,02%. A one million increase of funds for media 2007 related programs increased FDI stock by 3,36%–4,29%. Additionally, the results indicate that there is an interaction between GDP per capita and funds for the preservation of animal and plant health, and GDP per capita with funds for solidarity and management of migration flows. This research is a pilot study. According to the author’s knowledge this is the first analysis that takes into account all EU policy variables, and not just a selected few as well as the first study that analyses FDI and all EU funds during the 2007–2013 programming period.

Provincial corruption and local development bank performance

This paper investigates the effect of provincial corruption on the performance of local development bank, specifically to the profitability and credit quality. We use the data of 26 local development banks in 2012 and 2013. For the provincial corruption measurement we use “Public Institution Openness Index”. Results of this study are first, corruption significantly has a negative effect on the profitability of local development bank. Second, corruption doesn’t affect the credit quality of local development bank. These results are expected to enrich the within country corruption effect to the economic studies, particularly to the local development bank which is infrequently investigated.

Apakah Hutang merupakan Sejarah Krisis? Arus Masuk Modal Swasta ke Negara-negara Berkembang'

Harapan tentang pembangunan ekonomi kelompok penting middle income countries telah ditahan kembali oleh arus masuk modal swasta yang subtansial pada tahun 1990-an. Sebagaimana tahun 1970-an, pembangunan ekonomi ini telah diterima dengan optimisme yang berhati-hati. Studi empiris ini membuktikan bahwa meskipun reduksi hutang luar negeri dan reformasi kebijakan di negara-negara debitur telah menjadi determinan penting atas akses yang diperbaharui dalam pasar modal internasional, namun perubahan tingkat bunga internasional telah menjadi faktor yang dominan. Kami menghitung pengaruh perubahan tingkat bunga internasional untuk negara-negara debitur "tertentu". Kesimpulannya bahwa peningkatan tingkat bunga bersamaan dengan kenaikan siklus bisnis di negara-negara industri dapat menekan harga pasar sekunder hutang yang ada ke tingkat yang tidak sejalan dengan arus modal selanjutnya.

Indonesia has problems in demographicai objects, ie: high growth ofpopulation, low qualityof lifeand unbalance dispersion ofpopulation. More than 30 million of Indonesian people are below the poverty line. Thegrowth of population, speciaiiy for young age, caused many problems in labor. About 60% of Indonesian population live in Java. That is only 7 percent of Indonesian area. This situation had caused many problems in human resource which is very important for development. Unfortunately goverment attention on human resource development is less, that's why any improvements in re-education, re-traning and refunction are very urgent to be done.. The development of human resouce must be holistic, to include all of humanity aspects. This article shows that the succesful effort of it willbe the key to take off in the long term stage ofIndonesia development

ANÁLISE DAS POLÍTICAS FISCAIS E MONETÁRIAS PARA O SETOR AGROALIMENTAR E SUAS INFLUENCIAS AO BEM ESTAR DO CONSUMIDOR

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 0cm;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: ";Arial Narrow";,";sans-serif";;">As cadeias agroalimentares no mundo tem sido alvo de fortes políticas governamentais de controle e segurança nacional nas ultimas décadas. Algumas dessas políticas tem se pautado ao uso intensivo de subsídios agrícolas ou de proteção ao mercado doméstico através de alíquotas de importação e/ou exportação. Proveniente a esse contexto, o trabalho teve como objetivos: determinar quais conseqüências ocorre ao setor alimentício dado à incidência de subsídios governamentais as cadeias agroalimentares. Bem como, análise do bem-estar do consumidor em relação ao custo da cesta básica. Os métodos aplicados foram: versão adaptada do Modelo Mundell Fleming de políticas fiscais e monetárias e a utilização do Método dos Números Índices. Os resultados desse trabalho apontam que uma política monetária expansionista com maiores concessões de crédito e subsídios, tende a trazer fatores positivos ao setor alimentício, consolidando o mesmo ao contexto de ampliação pela produção de bens com maior valor agregado. Quanto ao custo de vida dos consumidores em relação ao consumo da cesta básica, foi caracterizado que suas condições na época atual são inferiores ao passado, reduzindo desta forma seu bem-estar, pois os consumidores de certo modo tiveram seu poder aquisitivo diluídos pela maior incidência tributária entre os períodos de 2003 a 2010.</span></p>

FUEL PRICE INCREASE AND MANUFACTURING FIRMS SURVIVAL IN INDONESIA

The administered price of fuel has increased quite frequently since 1970. It has raised a concern on the survival ability of manufacturing firms that could be weakened by such policy. This research objective is for confirming whether the policy of increasing fuel price affects the survival of manufacturing firms in Indonesia. By using Instrumental Variable Probit Model, it demonstrates that increasing fuel price does not affect firms’ survival in the short-run, middle-run, as well as long-run. Nevertheless, the z-statistics increase when the period of estimation is expanded. It means that if the time span of sample observation is widened, the result might be different. Kenaikan harga ini telah menimbulkan kekhawatiran pada kemampuan kelangsungan hidup perusahaan manufaktur di Indonesia yang bisa dilemahkan oleh kebijakan tersebut. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan mengonfirmasi apakah kebijakan kenaikan harga BBM mempengaruhi kelangsungan hidup perusahaan industri manufaktur di Indonesia. Dengan menggunakan Instrumental Variable Probit Model, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan harga BBM tidak mempengaruhi kelangsungan hidupperusahaan dalam jangka pendek, menengah, serta jangka panjang. Namun demikian, z-statistik meningkat ketika periode estimasi diperluas. Ini berarti bahwa jika rentang waktu pengamatan sampel melebar, hasilnya mungkin akan berbeda. ECONOMIC GROWTH, TRADE AND ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES: TESTING ENVIRONMENTAL KUZNETS CURVE

ASEAN experiences a dynamic economic growth due to its liberalised markets. However concerns arise related to environmental issues resulting from the economic activities. It reflects tradeoffs between economic growth driven by trade and foreign direct investment (FDI), and environment. To investigate such a relation the Environmental Kuznets Curve was applied by regressing amount of carbon emission with gross domestic product (GDP), quadratic GDP, trade openness and FDI. The result reveals that amount of carbon emission is linearly and positively correlated with GDP per capita. It is predicted that as ASEAN economies grow, carbon emission increases.
