La importancia de los guías turísticos en la difusión del patrimonio arqueológico de Copán, Honduras

El patrimonio cultural incentiva el desarrollo profesional, la identidad y la economía nacional a partir del turismo. El objetivo es analizar la construcción del habitus entre los guías turísticos que trabajan en el Parque Arqueológico de Copán Ruinas, ubicado en el occidente de Honduras. Se consideraron los conceptos desarrollados en la teoría de campos, utilizada con frecuencia en los estudios sobre el turismo en América Latina. En la revisión de la literatura, no se encontraron trabajos de habitus aplicados a los difusores de la cultura. El sociólogo francés Louis Pinto lo desglosa en cuatro dimensiones: disposicional, distributiva, categorial y económica. A nivel metodológico, se efectuaron entrevistas semiestructuradas a ocho integrantes de la Asociación de Guías Turísticos y a dos especialistas. Además, se realizó observación participante en dos jornadas de trabajo de campo, complementada con la revisión de fuentes secundarias. Nuestro aporte radica en identificar la práctica social en cada una de las dimensiones. Los guías valoran el gusto por reconocer la cultura Maya, han establecido fuertes lazos con expertos y consideran importante invertir tiempo y dinero en su formación; sin embargo, muestran dificultades para reflexionar sobre la ontología de su quehacer.

The competitive advantage of Airbnb in perception of tourists

Airbnb has experienced rapid growth, with millions of tourists using its service. This study seeks to identify the main reasons why tourists choose to use the Airbnb platform and its competitive advantages. To this end, online research was conducted with a sample of 49 respondents who have already used this type of service. The main results of the study show that price (53.1%), followed by the flat's facilities (22.4%) and location (20.4%) are the main motives for choosing Airbnb accommodation. When rating the importance of the main features that characterise Airbnb, 67.35% of respondents considered price to be very important and 65.31% rated location the same. In terms of satisfaction, the majority of respondents (59.2%) said they had a very satisfactory experience. Had Airbnb not existed, 53.1% of respondents would have opted for a hotel room. Hotels are therefore a major competitor for Airbnb and the advantages and independence of the services should be maintained or even improved.

Research trends on digital detox holiday: a bibliometric analysis, 2012-2020

The addiction problem associated with the overuse of technology has spread to tourism, with recent literature suggesting that tourists may want “disconnection” while traveling. This study, therefore, focuses on the new and poorly understood concept of the digital detox holiday. There is confusion in the literature since there are many terms to refer to it, such as digital-free tourism, unplugged tourism, and disconnected tourism. This study clarifies digital detox holiday as a tourism form. First, based on a review of previous research, a digital detox holiday model was proposed to resolve the confusion. Second, publications in Google and Scopus databases (2012-2020) were reviewed by bibliometric analysis and science mapping analysis via VOSviewer. The results revealed that the digital detox holiday can be considered a form of digital-free tourism and unplugged tourism. The results also showed that it is a recent research topic, with an increase in relevant publications since 2016, especially after 2018. Consequently, the publication trend is likely to accelerate further in the future. This study contributes to the literature by describing the characteristics of the digital detox holiday and visually mapping publications to highlight trends.

Ruta de Aviturismo del Biocorredor Estuario del río Chone – La Segua – Cordillera El Bálsamo, Manabí.

La Ruta de Aviturismo del Biocorredor Estuario del Río Chone – La Segua – Cordillera El Bálsamo, es un producto turístico regional, localizado principalmente en los cantones San Vicente, Sucre y Chone de la provincia de Manabí. Este producto puede ser comercializado como un paquete completo, o como paquetes complementarios de menor alcance geográfico y temático. La Ruta está compuesta de cinco zonas; tres de ellas constituyen los núcleos de aviturismo: el REVISICOF, el humedal La Segua y la Cordillera El Bálsamo, y dos son ejes articuladores de los núcleos: Eje Puerto Larrea – Portovelo y Eje Puerto Larrea – Km 8.5 desde Bahía (PUCE-Manabí); estos dos ejes tienen, además, la función se servir como espacios públicos de promoción de la Ruta. El recurso turístico principal de la Ruta son las 249 (doscientas cuarenta y nueve) especies de aves registradas al 17 de agosto de 2018. Estos recursos aviturísticos cuentan con recursos turísticos culturales que robustecen los paquetes ofertados que conforman el producto Ruta de Aviturismo. Los socios comerciales principales de la Ruta son ASOHUMEDAL, ASMANGISCO y 9 reservas privadas de la Cordillera El Bálsamo; a ellos se une un conjunto de prestadores de servicios turísticos, todos con la misma probabilidad de constituirse en socios de la Ruta. Todo el conjunto de actores descritos cuenta con el apoyo institucional del MINTUR, MAE, GAD provincial de Manabí y GAD´s municipales de los cantones San Vicente, Sucre y Chone. Los núcleos de aviturismo disponen de infraestructura y facilidades básicas para la práctica de al menos 13 tipos distintos de actividades aviturísticas; asimismo, se cuenta con un perfil inicial del segmento de mercado potencial de la ruta. El eje principal de la Ruta equivale a una distancia de 102 Km. El paquete completo de la Ruta ocupa un tiempo neto de operación de cinco días.

Competitive Activity of Weightlifters at the XXXII Olympic Games 2020 in Tokyo: Results and Prospects

Purpose: to study the indicators of the competitive activity of the strongest weightlifters in the world at the Games of the XXXII Olympiad 2020 and to identify trends for further increasing their sports results, taking into account weight categories and gender differences. Material and methods. By studying scientific literature, Internet resources, competition protocols, pedagogical observations, video recordings of competitions, we analyzed the achievements of 140 weightlifters who took part in the Games of the XXXII Olympiad 2020 in Tokyo and the number of countries they represented. All indicators of competitive activity and age characteristics were grouped according to the following principle: among the top 10 weightlifters in each weight category, as well as separately among the prize-winners of competitions among men and women. Results. The sports results of the top 10 weightlifters of each weight category among men and women who took part in competitions, age characteristics, the rate of achievements in a sports career, the level of approaches implementation and international competition were analyzed. Conclusions. Based on the analysis of the number of countries and licenses received by the athletes of these countries, world and Olympic records, the effectiveness of the performances of the world's leading weightlifters at the Olympic Games is shown. The optimal age for achieving the highest results, the age of the beginning of the sport for the prize-winners of the competition, the rate of achieving maximum results in a sports career, sports results, the level of implementation of competitive approaches, the rate of increase in achievements in competitive exercises, the value of starting results, the level of international competition in each weight category in men and women, the characteristics of the dynamics of the results of the most titled athletes during their sports career, who took part in the Olympic Games, are given.

The impacts of perceived overqualification on employee performance: A case of chefs

There are many variables that affect employee performance in working life. Some of these variables originate from individuals, while others are caused by external factors. One of the individual factors that affects employee performance is perceived overqualification. In this research, the effect of perceived overqualification in the hospitality industry on employee performance is discussed. Research data were collected through a questionnaire form. The data of the current study, which utilized 138 usable questionnaires, were collected from the kitchen staff of 4- and 5-star hotels in Nev?ehir. A road analysis test was used to test the hypothesis of the research. As a result of the analysis made with the data collected, it was found that perceived overqualification negatively and significantly affects employee performance. In this context, as a result of this study, it can be said that employee performance may increase or decrease if the overqualification observed in chefs increases or decreases. In light of the results obtained as a result of the study, practical implications and suggestions have been made for future studies.

Turismo de Base Comunitária: a reconstrução de identidades desde a experiência do encontro

Este artigo objetiva a discussão teórico-conceitual acerca da ideia de identidade no contexto do Turismo de Base Comunitária [TBC]. Nesse sentido, sugere uma interpretação que considera as transformações na dinâmica identitária como parte do patrimônio de um lugar. O TBC é uma alternativa ao turismo convencional e tem como marca o protagonismo da comunidade na gestão das atividades de turismo. Os modos de vida e suas formas identitárias se ressignificam a cada encontro com o outro na relação entre visitantes e visitados e está presente nos elementos que constituem a atratividade local. Reconhecer a constante reconstrução das identidades é fundamental na análise de potencialidade para o desenvolvimento dessa modalidade de turismo. Pretendemos que este trabalho seja um estímulo ao debate sobre processos de desenvolvimento de TBC e análises sobre identidades.

Análise do composto de marketing em empresas de turismo: um estudo bibliométrico

Essa pesquisa bibliométrica analisou a produção acadêmica acerca do composto de marketing em empresas atuantes no turismo, no período de 2012 a 2017. O objetivo do artigo foi identificar tendências nos aspectos metodológicos, nas variáveis do composto de marketing e nos segmentos do trade turístico. A quantidade de estudos analisada foi igual a 40 artigos, dos quais 23 foram encontrados em periódicos internacionais e 17 em nacionais. Quanto à análise dos dados coletados, empregou-se estatística descritiva e multivariada por meio de análise categórica de correspondência. Conforme os resultados encontrados, constatou-se que os estudos internacionais recorrem a procedimentos e técnicas quantitativas de investigação, ao passo que os estudos nacionais recorrem aos qualitativos. Também foi notado que, a partir de 2015, houve diminuição na quantidade de estudos publicados referentes ao composto de marketing entre as pequenas e médias empresas atuantes no turismo. A comunicação foi a variável mais recorrente e o preço foi a menos frequente. Com bases na análise categórica de correspondência, a hotelaria foi associada às questões de empreendedorismo e de marketing digital; os setores de alimentação e as agências de turismo às estratégicas de marketing; o setor de recreação e diversão ao marketing de relacionamento; e os demais setores à inovação e à vantagem competitiva.

Film-induced tourism: a systematic literature review

The “film-induced tourism” concept serves for the study of tourism visits made to a destination or attraction resulting from its featuring in cinema films, television series or promotional videos. This phenomenon falls within the field of “film-induced versus destination branding image” research, a fairly recently established field, and with this article correspondingly seeking to carry out analysis of the contents and systematisation of this area based on the contents of the Web of Science database. Thus, this article consists of the application of a systematic survey involving the summary and evaluation based upon the interpretation of the results returned. The sample contains only those articles published in English language journals and explicitly excluding conference proceedings or commentaries. We thus sought to grasp the perspectives adopted by both empirical and theoretical studies, the themes studied and the main conclusions of those studies analysed here. The results convey the diversity of both the quantitative and qualitative studies and the various future lines of research defined in accordance with the gaps detected in the results returned.

Suministros determinantes de la economía turística de islas pequeñas

Durante más de 20 años, lo que se estudia sobre las economías isleñas ha sido dominado por el modelo MIRAB (Bertram y Watters, 1985), el cual sugiere que las islas pequeñas subsisten del dinero enviado del exterior por ciudadanos que residen en el extranjero y por las ayudas de países metropolitanos. El presente estudio ofrece una alternativa al modelo MIRAB: la economía de islas pequeñas impulsadas por el turismo, o SITE, y trata de explicar sus características empleando tres análisis empíricos: (1) la diferencia de las medias entre las islas caribeñas, generalmente más desarrolladas, y las islas del Pacifico y del Océano Indio, en general menos penetradas; (2) el análisis del índice de la penetración turística considerando 39 islas pequeñas de menos de 3 millones de población; y (3) el análisis estadístico de regresión que identifica las variables del éxito de las islas pequeñas impulsadas económicamente por el turismo (SITE): dependencia política, contornos turísticos no abarrotados, adecuada infraestructura turística, geografía favorable, y sociedad económicamente próspera.

Tour-Scapes Or How To Convert Mature Tourism Destinations To Complex Sustainable Landscapes; The Strategy Of The “Second Coast”

Este artículo aborda el potencial de innovación del diseño paisajístico en destinaciones turísticas maduras del Mediterráneo, especialmente en relación a su contribución a la creación de un nuevo imaginario así como también a la configuración de criterios sostenibles con el fin de mejorar entornos consolidados turísticamente. Se estructura en dos partes: La primera trata la intensa relación entre el Paisaje y el Turismo. La segunda se centra en la evaluación de los resultados de la investigación desarrollados en el marco del Máster en Paisajismo, UPC, en los territorios de la Costa Brava, Cataluña, España y Languedoc, Francia. Los trabajos presentados exploran los protocolos del desarrollo de un imaginario turístico sostenible basado en la identidad y el potencial natural de estos paisajes en relación al desarrollo de un proyecto de turismo holístico que involucra el paisaje no como fondo sino como un producto turístico en sí. Las experiencias incluyen aproximaciones que relacionan el ya existente desarrollo de la costa con la zona agrónoma “interior”, específicamente denominada “segunda costa”.

TURISMO GASTRONÔMICO: UMA PESQUISA BIBLIOMÉTRICA EM BASES DE DADOS NACIONAIS E INTERNACIONAIS

Esta pesquisa objetiva realizar um levantamento bibliométrico sobre o construto turismo gastronômico em bases de dados nacionais e internacionais. Foram analisados 45 artigos identificados nas bases de dados periódicos CAPES, Spell, Proquest, Ebsco. Realizaram-se diferentes análises como: evolução temporal, identificação dos periódicos, cálculo da lei de Bradford, tipos de pesquisas realizadas, centralidade de Freeman, redes de autores, mensuração do poder de Bonacich, comparativo com a Lei de Lotka, redes de universidades, trabalhos com maior número de referências, principais palavras dos objetivos. Verificou-se, entre outros aspectos, que o core do assunto são os periódicos: Casos, Rosa dos Ventos, além das revistas Estudios y Perspectivas en Turismo, Tourism & Management e TuryDes. Ainda, o autor mais referenciado é Michael Hall, no entanto o trabalho com maior número de referências é de Erik Cohen. O pesquisador Emilio Morales-Fernández e as universidades de Aveiro e Loyola Andalucía realizam o maior número de parcerias científicas.

TURISMO DE AVENTURA EM TAQUARUÇU – TO: ATIVIDADES E RISCOS

Este trabalho buscou analisar de que forma as atividades de aventura estão sendo desenvolvidas em Taquaruçu – TO, no que diz respeito aos riscos para seus praticantes. A pesquisa foi realizada durante os meses de agosto a novembro de 2015 e teve como referência Normas Técnicas da ABNT de certificação de atividades de aventura, considerando-se a classificação, a orientação e o inventário de perigos e riscos. Foram realizadas visitas em quatro cachoeiras, bem como nas suas trilhas de acesso e no mirante da região. Constatou-se que as trilhas de três delas devem ser guiadas, por conta do grau de severidade do meio, restando apenas uma a ser autoguiada. Porém nenhuma das trilhas atende a todas as regras determinadas pelas normas. A prática do cachoeirismo e da tirolesa também não cumpre todas as determinações. Com isso, percebeu-se que estas atividades não estão sendo desenvolvidas de forma mais segura, o que é um risco para os praticantes. Assim, este trabalho comprovou as fragilidades do turismo de aventura quanto aos riscos detectados, sendo proposta a construção de parcerias que visem a mais estudos na região e capacitação dos profissionais do setor, estimulando a prática da atividade, levando-se em consideração a qualidade e a confiabilidade dos serviços executados.

Investigating the influence of reference group judgements of global warming on consumers

Objective: To examine the influence of different reference group judgments of global warming on consumers. Methodology: A scale measuring the influence of reference group judgments’ on consumers was developed using secondary research. The scale was evaluated by renowned researchers and a statistician. It was pretested prior to being administered to consumers using mall intercept. 548 responses were obtained and the data analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics version 20.0. The Cronbach alpha for the reference group scale is 0.889. Findings: Descriptive statistics revealed that the greatest reference group influence on consumers about global warming was experts in the field. Independent t-test results on gender revealed that there were no statistically significant differences in responses between males and females, while one way ANOVA tests revealed that there were significant differences in responses between groups belonging to different ethnic groups and generation cohorts. However there were no significant differences in responses with groups having different levels of education using the one-way ANOVA. Conclusions: Reference group judgments’ of global warming can be used to influence consumers in relation to global warming. Experts in the field appear to be the best option. Using reference group judgments and segmenting consumers on the basis of generation cohort and ethnic group may be beneficial in trying to influence certain groups of consumers in relation to global warming. However segmenting consumers on the basis of sex and education in order to use reference group influence does not appear beneficial since there is no difference in their responses.

Diante de um notório movimento que busca uma apreciação analítica do turismo na contemporaneidade, que varia entre um exame de aglomerados de abordagens e métodos e uma abordagem que busca a coesão, com o uso de definições de focos quantitativo-econômicos e/ou qualitativo-compreensivos; buscasse um conceito sobre o turismo que possa responder a todas as suas interfaces de maneira lógica. Dessa forma, este artigo busca analisar quais os fundamentos e os objetos teóricos utilizados pela Dra. Margarita Barretto em seus estudos do turismo e qual a escola teórica em que a referida autora prepara suas bases explicativas para o turismo como área de conhecimento, buscando dessa forma uma re-significação, para com isso avançar na cientificidade da área.

Elektroninės valdžios paslaugų pakopų ir „E. deimanto“ modelių lyginamieji aspektai, jų tobulinimo koncepcinės kryptys

Straipsnyje isanalizuoti elektroninės valdžios paslaugų pakopų ir „E. deimanto“ modelių kūrimo bei taikymo viesojo administravimo institucijoje ypatumai, pranasumai ir trūkumai. Sukūrus sių modelių bendruosius požymius, jais remiantis atlikta elektroninės valdžios paslaugų pakopų ir „E. deimanto“ modelių lyginamoji analizė, pateiktos sių modelių tobulinimo koncepcinės rekomendacijos. Tyrimo originalumą pabrėžia elektroninės valdžios paslaugų modelių issami koncepcinė analizė isskiriant sių modelių bendruosius požymius lyginamuoju aspektu. Nagrinėjant elektroninės valdžios paslaugų modelius, taikyti sisteminės analizės, koncepcinės lyginamosios analizės ir dinaminio modeliavimo metodai, kurie leido geriau atskleisti elektroninės valdžios paslaugų integravimo viesojo sektoriaus institucijose problemas ir jų tobulinimo galimybes. Atlikta elektroninės valdžios paslaugų pakopų ir „E. deimanto“ modelių lyginamoji analizė bei detaliai isanalizuotos pakopų modelių transformacijos į „E. deimanto“ modelį dinaminės kryptys leistų efektyviau integruoti naujai sukurtus holistinius procesus apimancius modelius įvairių salių viesojo sektoriaus sistemose, reglamentuojant sių modelių taikymo ypatumus nacionaliniuose teisės aktuose. Comparative Aspects of Electronic Government Services’ Maturity and “E-Diamond” Models, the Conceptual Features of Their Improvement Tadas Limba Summary Nowadays electronic government starts dominating in all world countries. Some states are more experienced, while others just started implementing it. Nevertheless, which models the country had reached, all of them should make the progress. It is important to try to overlook and analyse in essence the e-government services maturity and “E-Diamond” models at the public administration level, that are used in various countries. Having studied the peculiarities of stages’ models of electronic government services and having carried out their comparative analysis the work shows the main similarities and differences of the models. Implementation of electronic government services in stage models is grounded on the complexity of service integration – a deeper integration of electronic government services is possible only having stepped through the lower integration stage. Swedish scientists A. Persson and G. Goldkuhl consider this policy of stage integration of services to be a disadvantage and they developed a contrapositional model “E-Diamond” which provides conditions to set free the stages and let them operate individually, not dependent on each other. Stages’ models have different requirements for self-identification in information systems. “ANAO”, “SAFAD”, “Hiller&Belanger” stages’ models require self-identification passing from the second to the third levels, while in stages’ models “Lee&Layne” and “Recreation of Public Sector Processes” requirements for self-identification appear in the second stages of providing electronic government services. Having carried out comparative analysis of all models of electronic government services, there are distinguished six key features of the models, such as possible levels of implementation, attributes of different levels, targeting at the customer, targeting at the inside processes, possibility to evaluate services, technological background. However, out of six features the main ones are considered to be the feature of targeting at the inside organizational processes of self-government and the feature of targeting at the customer. The implementation of the above mentioned features is identified in the models of “Stages” and “E-Diamond”. Both of them are quite equally targeted at restructuring inside processes and meeting the needs of customers. Assessing the models of “Stages” and “E-Diamond” according to this rather neutral targeting, they can be applied in economically developing as well as highly developed countries, thus can be considered to be universal. All in all, despite which model is used, there are lots of areas, where governments should change and improve their implementing models of e-government services. They should look ahead, if they want to do their best at e-government conceptual and strategical policy.
