BackgroundDance and movement represent a recommended form of exercise for older adults that benefits health across diverse cultures and socioeconomic groups. Individual differences in dance self-efficacy may be key determinants of participation in dance for health programs, yet existing measures for assessing these psychological factors in older adults are limited. Scale development research addressing this gap could enhance understanding of factors influencing engagement and program success in dance-based health interventions. This study developed and validated the Dance Self-Efficacy Scale for older adults (DanSES-60+).MethodsThe existing 6-item dance self-efficacy measure was extended through literature review and focus group analysis. Expert review reduced 60 items to 32 items, which were administered via survey to 289 community-dwelling older adults (M age = 72.1 years). The sample was stratified and split for exploratory (n = 97) and confirmatory (n = 192) factor analysis. Scale reliability and validity were assessed following established psychometric scale development procedures, including tests of internal consistency, test-retest reliability (2-week interval; n = 80), and associations with relevant constructs and demographic factors.ResultsItem analysis reduced the scale to 12 items with a theoretically meaningful two-factor structure: Barriers and scheduling self-efficacy (confidence in overcoming attendance and participation challenges) and dance task self-efficacy (confidence in performing dance activities). The DanSES-60+ demonstrated excellent internal consistency (α = 0.95) and good test-retest reliability (ICC = 0.84), with strong criterion and construct validity evidence. Dance self-efficacy scores were significantly positively associated with prior dance experience, current dance participation, female gender, mobility, general health, physical activity levels, and engagement in arts and creative groups. Age, falls history, education level, and cultural and/or linguistic diversity showed no relationship with scores.DiscussionThe DanSES-60+ addresses a critical measurement gap in dance and aging research, providing the first psychometrically robust tool for assessing dance self-efficacy in older adults. The scale enables participant screening and stratification, program evaluation, progress monitoring, and investigation of psychological mechanisms underlying dance program effectiveness. Established scale cutoffs and confidence indicators enhance practical utility for applications in dance for health research and practice.
After an initial reflection on the religious-philosophical meanings of some scenes present in the mosaics that cover the floors of the Villa del Casale in Piazza Armerina (Enna), the need arose for a deeper study of some of them under the astral and henotheistic profile. Starting from the exegesis of the images, we tried to analyze the allegorical-symbolic meanings supported by philosophy and to clarify the value of the connected scenes, in order to be able to be adopted in pagan iconography and reproduced in official and private art, as a symbol of power and eternal regeneration. This research undoubtedly includes the iconographies of the mosaics of the two diaetae with Orpheus and Arion, taken as a symbol of the harmony of creation due to the exegesis of their myth, the mosaics with the scenes of the races in the circus, imago poli of the celestial vault which is accompanied by the mosaic depicting the twelve labors of Hercules, the latter compared to the Sun and its passage through the twelve constellations. To these must be added the socalled mosaics "of the Seasons", not only allegories of seasonal abundance, but which together with the themes described above would fall within the symbolism of palingenesis, of the cyclical return and of eternity, themes widely discussed within the philosophical-religious currents of Late Antiquity. In support of this hypothesis, other figures of the myth contribute: Daphne and Cyparissus, Andromeda and Endymion, Ampelos and Kissos, and Orpheus and Arion themselves, to whom the divinities grant immortality through the instrument of metamorphosis.
As one generation comes after the other, the Hanunuo millennials encountered a social change in different aspects of their lives. This is a descriptive qualitative study using ethnography which aims to determine the modernization of the millennials in the eyes of the Hanunuo elders in terms of lifestyle, marriage set-up and political beliefs. The researcher used as data collection methods, participant observations triangulated with interviews and key informant interviews. Evidence was collected in the form of taped interviews and field notes. The researcher used codes for the raw information and categorized the data. Sociocultural theory asserts how culture and society molded the social life of Hanunuo Mangyan who were born the way they are.
The study showed that the Hanunuo millennials have been preserving their culture by educating the Hanunuo youth on their respective learning center despite of modernization. As every generation has its own identity, Hanunuo millennials are fond of using different technologies which create a new order of life in modern time. It is therefore recommended that the Local Government Unit should be vigilant and be supportive to the sociocultural development of this particular cultural community.

Bookbinding is a covering, usually made of leather-encased cardboard, for holding book pages or various magazines together, and the person who performs this art is called a bookbinder. The subject of this article involves the bindings bearing the signature of the Seljuk bookbinder Mehmet al-Sharīf and the decorative features of these bindings. As a result of the research made in the manuscript libraries and the literature on this field, a total of eight bindings have been found bearing the signature of Mehmed al-Sharīf (TPML A.465 and 2334, Yusuf Aga ML 191, Sulaymaniyah ML Mahmud Pasha 237 and Turhan Valide Sultan 253, Vahit Pasha ML 1169 and 1175, V&A Museum). Signature seals can be found on the corners of the bindings, in the middle of the covers, on the fore-edge flap, or on the envelope flap. The seals are circular with diameters of 5 mm, and bearing the name of Mehmed (Mohammad) within the seal; they are placed at the top of the text line due to respect for the name of the Prophet Mohammed (pbuh). The lower part of the seal has the phrase “al-Sharīf.” When examining the bindings, Mehmed al-Sharīf is seen to have continued the construction and decorative style of the Anatolian Seljuk binding. When considering the two examples TPML A.2334 (dated 654/1256) and TPML A.465 (dated 699/1299), Mehmed al-Sharīf is identified as having been a Seljuk-period bookbinder who produced works in the second half of the 13th century at the latest.
The paper proposes a new dating for the early medieval Dubrovnik cathedral
church of St. Peter the Great. Certain analogies have been found with the
relief sculpture of the North Apulian cathedrals from the second quarter of
the eleventh century. Thanks to them, and taking into account the history
and organization of the Latin Church under the political rule of Byzantium
in Apulia and in the Diocese of Dubrovnik in the tenth and at the beginning
of the eleventh century, above all the political situation in the Byzantine
Empire of that time - the construction of the Dubrovnik cathedral is placed
in the same historical framework as the construction of North Apulian
cathedrals - the first half of the eleventh century.
Written by the Nobel laureate Chinese writer Mo Yan, Red Sorghum is a complicated historical novel. This thematically complex novel was first published in Chinese in 1987 and English in 1993. Unfolded through the perspective of a child who is the grandson of the protagonist, the novel bears a strong resemblance to an epic. The novel consists of five sections that disclose and interweave the story of the narrator’s grandfather and grandmother in Gaomi during the turbulent decades of the 1920s to 1940s. It depicts the bandit culture, the Japanese occupation, and the harsh conditions endured by poor farmworkers. In the present paper, an attempt has been made to study how the history of China has been represented in the novel Red Sorghum. It has been made to prove that Mo Yan has dealt with history in his own unique way. For him, fiction is the imaginative representation of history.

Multivariable Cox regression analysis confirmed the AKR1D1*36 allele as an independent risk factor (HR = 2.36; 95% CI, 1.34 to 4.18) and identified 3 other risk factors for MACCE; previous percutaneous interventions (PCI), HR = 2.78; (95% CI, 1.34 to 5.78), and a history of myocardial infarction, HR = 2.62; (95% CI, 1.48 to 4.64) at baseline and the previously reported CYP2C19*2 polymorphism (HR = 2.33; 95% CI, 1.33 to 4.06).Conclusion: The AKR1D1*36 (rs1872930) variant is independently associated with a higher risk for MACCE and shorter event-free survival time. Keywords: AKR1D1, CYP2C19, MACCE, DAPT, clopidogrel, North Macedonia
