Paula Caldo, Lorena Sguigna
Å gjøre kjønnsbevisst foreldreskap i dagens Norge: Forståelser og praksiser
Elisabeth Stai, Jennifer Elise Branlat, Guro Korsnes Kristensen
The Importance of Feminism against Masculinity with reference to the play A Doll’s House
Xie Shengting
Ibsen, one of the most famous playwrights of the nineteenth century, has created a masterpiece that highly reflects feminism. He, from the external point of view, is a feminist writer. The play is written by describing the marriage relationship in the family of humanism. It shows the face of the capitalist society, exposing its selfish and hypocritical nature and the "doll" of women in the family. Nora, in this case, is a family doll, a victim of a patriarchal society. She had become a doll under his husband’s hand and the hand of the masculine society. Based on Simone de Beauvoir’s feminism theory, the paper focuses on Ibsen’s personal experience in creating the play during that specific time which stimulated the growth of the women’s movement. To stress the importance of the paper, the paper does not only focus on the female image by the character Nora but also on how Hermer stimulates revolt from Nora in reflecting the society.
Critical Belonging: Cohabitation, Plurality, and Critique in Butler’s 'Parting Ways'
Miri Rozmarin
This article engages Judith Butler’s 'Parting Ways' as a way to rethink the relations between critique and belonging as two aspects of contemporary political subjectivities. I argue that for Butler critique is an action performed by corporeal subjects. As such, it depends on cohabitation being an ontological condition. Belonging, in the sense of sharing a place with others, assesses an affirmative stance – the commitment to safeguard the common conditions for a plurality of lives. The first part of the article regards Butler’s theorization of cohabitation and plurality as a framework in which the corporeal and embodied relations with others who share a place serve as a condition for critique rather than its limit. I argue that Butler’s Arendtian social ontology aims to offer a vision of political subjectivity that differs from contemporary forms of subjectivation. I further argue that in order to promote such vision of political subjectivity, a detailed description of cohabitation is required as a multi-layered affective and emotional relation with one’s surroundings. The second part of the article focuses on how Butler performs in her text this alternative vision of political subjectivity that affirms pluralization as a normative principle. By studying Butler’s account of her Jewishness as well as textual practices shaping the text, I argue that belonging can become a formative aspect of the critical subject through the acts of norms on one’s body as well as by critical engagement.

This article focuses on physical non-cooperation - aka “going limp” - during civil disobedience arrests in the United States. It contends that by performing refusal, activists deploy their vulnerability as a strategic tool. Going limp allows us to rethink and go beyond the labels that define resistance as “active” and “passive” and tend to obscure how complex action repertoires are, especially when used by so-called minorities. These labels also tend to erase agency and portray civil disobedience as a moral and selfless act, which contributes to depoliticizing the practice. Resisting arrest by going limp disrupts the separation between the public and private spheres, demonstrating that bodies do not have equal access and claim to public space and that bodily and emotional experience shape activist commitment.

Gabrielle Richard, Arnaud Alessandrin
According to surveys conducted in Quebec (Canada) and in France, school experiences of trans youth are particularly chaotic. Despite similar ground-based observations, France and Quebec present school environments that are in some ways different for their trans youths. In this comparative paper, we interrogate the existence of educational policies that aim at reducing and preventing transphobia in high schools, as well as promoting a safe and welcoming environment for trans students. In Quebec, despite the legitimacy conferred to the fight against homophobia since the 2000s, the schooling experiences of trans students have only barely been subjected to specific strategies. In French schools, it remains impossible to talk about trans issues, partly because of the predominance of the notion of equality between girls and boys. Only concerted efforts from political and educational instances, as well as a frank discussion about gender issues, can ultimately weaken the heteronormativity in schools in France and in Quebec.

El periodismo republicano en manos de mujeres: Maria Carratalà y Elvira Augusta Lewi / María Carratalà and Elvira Augusta Lewi. The republican journalism in hands of women
Teresa Julio
ABSTRACT: During the 1920s and 1930s, periodicals published works by many women for political, social and commercial reasons. The eagerness to raise national educational standards led to the establishment of numerous and sometimes short-lived magazines and newspapers, in which Maria Carratalà and Elvira Augusta Lewi were basically responsible for musical and artistic criticism, and even published their own literary texts. This paper studies the similarities and differences between these two women who contributed to the journalistic landscape of the twentieth century, and analyzes the new style that was created and which like them, disappeared after the civil war.
