Las producciones literarias de expresión judeo-árabe y judeoespañola han tendido a ser analizadas como dos elementos marcadamente divergentes, dos campos de estudio con particularidades, periodizaciones y metodologías alejadas entre sí. Pese a todo ello, entre los siglos XIX y XX ambas son afectadas por una serie de fenómenos que harán que sus literaturas encuentren más similitudes que diferencias, y sin cuya presencia no sería posible ofrecer una caracterización de estas en la modernidad. El objetivo de estas páginas será, por tanto, el de ofrecer un marco sobre el que observar cómo irrumpen estas manifestaciones -Haśkalah, la revitalización del hebreo y el auge de las judeo-lenguas, la creación e instalación de centros de la Alianza Israelita Universal, el contacto con Occidente y la modernización, entre otros- en la creación judeo-árabe y sefardí dando lugar a muestras literarias compartidas.

Anti-Semitism in M. Quraish Shihab's Interpretation of verses about Jews in Tafsir al-Misbah This article aims to analyze more deeply the issue of anti-Semitism in the interpretation of the Qur'an Quraish Shibah. Seeing the growing movement of adherents of the Jewish religion in Indonesia and the emergence of a survey from the Wahid Foundation that Indonesian Muslims do not like Judaism, it is necessary to have an in-depth study regarding the interpretation of Indonesian figures towards Jewish verses in the Koran. Quraish Shihab apart from being an intellectual figure in Indonesia who has a complete commentary of 30 chapters, he is also one of Indonesia's political figures. Quraish Shihab's interpretation of Judaism needs to be explored to track and analyze more deeply whether there are elements of anti-Semitism in his interpretation, seeing that he is one of the intellectual and political figures of Indonesian Muslims. To reveal the interpretation of Quraish Shihab, the descriptive-analytical method is the guideline in this article. After carrying out the analysis, it was found that Tafsir al-Misbah still has a strong impression of anti-Semitism, although it does not apply equally to all adherents of the Jewish religion. Regarding the characteristics revealed by Quraish in describing the Jews, namely: often playing against each other, jealous, and often committing lies, and aspiring for Muslims to embrace Judaism

The paper presents preliminary results of the archaeological research conducted in quarter 1 at the Jewish Cemetery at 49/51 Okopowa Street in Wola in Warsaw in the years 2020-2021, which was carried out in accordance with the guidelines of the Rabbinical Commission for Jewish Cemeteries in Poland, as well as respect for tradition and halakhic law. The results of archaeological work contribute to a better understanding of the history of the entire Warsaw necropolis from the time of its foundation, with a particular emphasis on the late 19th and early 20th century, to the times of the battles fought at the necropolis during World War II.

It is common to accuse Christian supersessionism of responsibility for the Holocaust. This article qualifies this claim by arguing that the theological ideology that directly preceded and aided the Holocaust was unequivocally hostile to this traditional Christian doctrine. It is German neo-Marcionism – which deliberately fought against replacement theology – that provides a direct religious context for the Nazi solution to the Jewish question. Kant appears in this picture as the first modern German Christian who consistently pursued an anti-supersessionist agenda of “purifying” Christianity by radically severing it from its Jewish roots.

Este breve artigo, têm como objetivo discorrer sobre elementos constituintes de identidades que geram e criam fronteiras, mediante processos dicotômicos, concepções binárias e discursos de transformações, mudanças, originalidade e liberação parcial do sagrado. Para esse fim, nossa análise se valerá de aspectos sociológicos, filosóficos e hermenêuticos. A análise que aqui faremos, trata-se de um recorte interpretativo, a partir das chamadas “memórias de Neemias” e sua importância no processo de formação da identidade da nova comunidade judaíta, que culminou no surgimento do Judaísmo Primitivo. Dentre outras possibilidades, destacamos três elementos característicos e presentes na concepção e na formação dessa nova identidade, a saber: a ficção de pertença, estereótipos e rupturas (cisão). Concluímos que nos processos de formação da identidade de grupos religiosos, duas frentes são indispensáveis: 1) o próprio elemento religioso; e 2) o elemento político

A pesar de la general ignorancia de las letras españolas por parte de las comunidades sefardíes de Oriente, en los últimos años se han localizado varios ejemplos de la difusión de determinadas obras de la literatura española entre los sefardíes levantinos. Algunos de dichos ejemplos vinieron de la mano de las misiones protestantes establecidas en el Imperio otomano desde mediados del siglo XIX. En las próximas páginas mostraremos el caso de los poemas castellanos incluidos en la obra pedagógica La escalera a la anṿeźadura (Constantinopla 1853 y 1888), obra del Rev. Alexander Thomson.

The present work tries to analyze the processes against Mencía Álvarez and María Álvarez. They were sisters, and both of them were between the followers of Inés Esteban, known as the Moza de Herrera. Inés stimulated a messianic movement that developed around Herrera del Duque; it did that many judeoconverts were killed in the inquisitorial bonfires, between them sisters Álvarez. Both of them exemplify the situation of many of the followers of Inés Esteban: they were reconciled; they belonged to a family narrowly linked with criptojudaism; they developed a quite elementary practice of Judaism and they had a blind faith in the prophecies that were promising them a better life.

The most important issues considered in the Qur'an and the Testaments, God's ‎existence and recognizing Dimension‏‎ Tawhid that some important indicators, are ‎fundamentally very different. God introduces the Quran, unlike the Testaments, ‎the perfect Glory, and has absolute perfection, but however in some Testaments ‎passages about God's divine attributes can also be seen. In fact, looking at the ‎Testaments as God is faced with a stark contrast. So, this article reviews and ‎evaluates the common points and differences in the Quran and the Bible about ‎God‏.‏ What the Holy Book of Judaism, the Old Testament and the Talmud, as well as the scholars who interpreted these books, say about God is almost contradictory. These are words that are valid and inconsistent with each other. The Jewish scriptures describe God as a material being with physical and human characteristics, sometimes inferior to man. However, at the same time, Allahu ta'âlâ is described in those books with higher and perfect qualities. Many modern Jewish scholars praise God with the latter characteristics.

The article analyses the content of the ‘‘Martyrdom of Conon’’ (BHG, 361) within the background of Decius’ anti-Christian persecution. Since there is no consensus on the causes of the religious policy of the Emperor, the question, to what extent Christians were persecuted, remains open. The author refers to an authoritative hagiographic monument of Asia Minor, ‘‘The martyrdom of Conon’’ , analyzes data on time of martyrdom and congenial hagiographic tradition, such as evidences on the death of Papias, Diodorus, and Claudian, as well as ‘‘The Martyrdom of Nestor of Magydos». Some parallels with the ‘‘The Martyrdom of Pionius’’ are interpreted not as textual, but as historical, that mirrored procedures of sacrifice being prescribed by the edict of Decius. Special attention is drawn to the Jewish origin of Conon that created special meanings in the text. Lapsi of Asia Minor, to whom wasn’t possible to rejoin Christian community, often converted to Judaism. It’s the condition that caused anti-Jewish controversy in the ‘‘The Martyrdom of Pionius’’. On the other hand, all this caused actuality of such hero as Conon who courageously professed Christ and died as a martyr, providing a model of Christian apology in anti-Jewish polemics.

Durante a Segunda Guerra Mundial, a família Dohan/Sprung, fugindo da perseguição nazista aos judeus na antiga Iugoslávia foi detida pelo exército italiano e conduzida para a Itália. Retidos inicialmente em um pequeno vilarejo no Norte do país onde sua vida muitas vezes mesclava-se à dos camponeses da região, foram conduzidos mais tarde para o campo de concentração de Ferramonti ao sul. Quando este foi libertado pelos soldados norte-americanos, seguiram para a Sicília e finalmente Roma, onde já podiam viver em liberdade. Alguns anos depois, a família imigrou para o Brasil. O relato desta trajetória por meio do olhar de uma das filhas é o foco deste artigo.
