Sih Reka Prawidya, Damayanti Tinduh, Ditaruni Asrina Utami
et al.
Background and purpose
One of the Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS), which form the cornerstone of daily activities and sports, is balance. Sedentary adolescents exhibit worse static balance functions and adolescents do not meet the recommended FMS levels are less likely to be physically active. This will result in a vicious cycle that exacerbating the negative effects of sedentary behavior. The Asian squat is exercise to improve static balancing function without the need for specialized equipment. This study analyses how eight weeks of Asian squat training affects the static balance function of sedentary male adolescent.
Material and methods
This study is a single blind randomized controlled trial. The subjects were 30 male sedentary students divided into treatment group (n=15) and control group. Subject in treatment group received Asian squat training 3 times per week for 8 weeks. Subject in control group (n=15) continued their activities at school and at home as usual, and attended physical education lessons at school according to schedule. The single leg stance (SLS) test result measured before and after intervention on both legs with 4 components: Stable Surface Open Eyes (SSOE), Stable Surface Closed Eyes (SSCE), Foam Surface Open Eyes (FSOE), and Foam Surface Closed Eyes (FSCE).
Results
There was improvement of the results of SSOE right leg, SSCE both legs, FSOE both legs, and FSCE both legs in treatment group (p < 0.05), which was significant compared to control group at week 8 (p < 0.05).
Conclusions
Asian squat training for 8 weeks is an effective and safe exercise to improve static balance in sedentary male adolescents.

Can traditional games improve gross motor performance of elementary school students? Meta-analysis study
Iqbal Maulana, Sigit Nugroho, Ahmad Nasrulloh
Background and purpose
Children learn while playing during the elementary school years. Therefore, a technique that fits the personality of primary school pupils is required to enhance the gross motor performance of those students. Many research on the effect of traditional games on gross motor performance have been undertaken. This study uses meta analysis to determine whether conventional games can enhance elementary school pupils' gross motor skills.
Material and methods
Material. Meta-analysis was employed in this investigation. Meta-analysis is a statistical analytic technique that summarizes multiple study results, resulting in research outcomes that strive to incorporate the most recent discoveries. The first step is to look for data. The data search was conducted by merging information gathered from prior research indexed by Google Scholar and published between 2017 and 2022. The process of selecting a sample based on inclusion and exclusion criteria using purposive random sampling. Influence, traditional games, gross motor skills, children, and primary schools were the terms utilized to collect data. The following stage is data analysis. There are five procedures for analyzing data: 1] filtering variables, 2] recording t-count/f-count values, 3] converting t-count/f-count values into r values, converting r values into effect sizes of the article being analyzed, 4] analyzing the variance or it can be called the z value, analyzing the Standard error of the effect size or z value, 5] analyzing the summary effect. The software application Jeffreys' Amazing Statistics Program [JASP] version 0.16.0.0 aids in the estimation of the summary effect.
Results
The analysis results show a Random Effect value [r_RE] of 0.546, implying that traditional games contribute to the gross motor performance of primary school kids in the high category. Because traditional games include physical exertion, which might increase movement quality.
Conclusions
The outcomes of this meta-analysis study suggest that traditional games have a significant impact on primary school kids' gross motor skills.

Affinity in Adversity: Examining Brand Love and Online Customer Engagement in the Restaurant Industry
José William de Queiroz Barbosa , Maria Carolina Cavalcante Dias , Lissa Valéria Fernandes Ferreira
Previous studies have investigated brand love in restaurants but have not considered the dynamics of online reviews about restaurant brands. To fill this gap, this study aims to understand how consumers with a high level of love towards restaurant brands defend them in the face of negative reviews on social media. This research, carried out in a Brazilian context, adopts a qualitative approach, analysing 3,979 customer reviews sourced from Instagram through sentiment and categorical content analysis. From the dimensions of brand love, the results showed that customers who love restaurant brands react to negative reviews about them on social media, expressing their positive emotional connection with the companies and acting as their defenders. The study shows that for the restaurant segment, it is relevant to have consumers who love the brand once they help mitigate the effects generated by negative comments online. Furthermore, the research highlights how brand love manifests in restaurant brands' digital context.

Interactions and touchpoints along the hotel guest journey: an approach to experience management.
Gloria Sanmartin
To create a memorable experience for its customers, the hotel firm must have complete control over the process, down to the smallest detail. This research aims to deepen the experience generation process, from a business perspective, by examining experiential encounters and touchpoints in detail. To identify the objectives to be achieved, both directly and indirectly, in each stage of the experiential process, it was necessary to identify the experiential encounters and touchpoints that generate value for the guest. Additionally, it was important to identify the key elements of a hotel customer's experience, the providers involved, and the managerial areas related to guest experience generation.
After reviewing a large amount of literature, we conducted focus groups with hotel staff who are involved in the guest's experiential journey. We identified the main service encounters that occurred during this journey, which allowed us to identify the principal touchpoints, including products, interactions, messages, and settings. By managing brand-owned, partner-owned, customer-owned, or social/external touchpoints, positive guest experiences can be generated.
Hotels must understand the process of generating guest experiences to improve them. This research provides a guideline that any hotel can use to manage the guest experience.

The relationship between creative tourism and local development: a bibliometric approach for the period 2009-2019
Carlos A. Máximo Pimenta , José Cadima Ribeiro, Paula Cristina Remoaldo
More and more people want to travel to destinations expecting to live unique and active tourist experiences, linked to the culture and traditions of the host communities, and interact with local people. In the concept of creative tourism, these dimensions of proximity to residents, of tourists’ participation in the configuration of their own experience and the expression of creativity based on cultural references and attributes of the destination, are present. It is in this context that multiple researchers have been looking to the creative tourism segment as an opportunity for the development of various territories. The aim of this investigation is to identify the relationship which can be found in the literature between creative tourism and local development, using as research method a bibliometric inventory made in scientific databases (Academia. edu, Econlit, Google Scholar, CAPES Journals, Redalyc, Scielo.org, SCOPUS, and Web of Science, among others). In general, it was possible to verify that there is a concern of the authors of the papers analysed in establishing a link between creative tourism and local/regional development, without however going far on this dimension, or at least identifying impact of economic, cultural, social and environmental nature. This way, it seems to be important that future research goes far in the inventory of the hypothesized relationship between the proposals of creative tourism and the benefits it can bring to local communities.

Features of individual cognitive style of qualified badminton players
Xu Xiang Qian, G.V. Korobeynikov, D.M. Mishchuk
et al.
Aim: to determine of peculiarities of personal cognitive styles in qualified badminton players.
Material and methods. The studies were carried out using the hardware-software computer complex "Multipsychometer-05". The modified Stroop test was selected. The indicators of the test "Field dependence" were determined: field independence, left hemispheric dominance, functional asymmetry, and the effectiveness of the test. The obtained results of the study were analyzed for the entire sample of badminton players, as well as separately for men and women.
Results. According to the results of scientific research on the field dependence of qualified badminton players, it was found that all athletes in our sample demonstrate a slight bias towards field dependence; dominated by right hemisphere dominance; in functional asymmetry and efficiency, qualified badminton players demonstrate an average level. The analysis of test indicators, taking into account gender dimorphism, showed that among men 72% demonstrate a predominance of right hemispheric dominance of varying degrees, 28% have left hemispheric dominance. As for women, 54% demonstrate a predominance of right hemispheric dominance of varying degrees, and 37% demonstrate left hemispheric dominance of varying degrees.
Conclusions. Men show a tendency towards better test performance and have more pronounced functional asymmetry. The cognitive style of skilled badminton players determines the strategy of selection and processing of information, problem solving, learning and other types of cognitive activities. Because human cognitive-activity styles are genetically determined and demonstrate a pronounced stability of cognitive-stylistic characteristics in ontogenesis, they can be used as prognostic and diagnostic criteria.

Angelica Selene Sterling Zozoaga, Damayanti Estolano Cristerna, Jorge Luis Mendoza Lara

OS DESAFIOS, AS LIMITAÇÕES E AS PERSPECTIVAS DO MODELO DO ÍNDICE DE COMPETITIVIDADE TURÍSTICA NO CONTEXTO DA POLÍTICA NACIONAL DE TURISMO BRASILEIRA
Isabela Rosa Sette, Edegar Luis Tomazzoni

Student-Athlete School Selection
Claire C. Schaeperkoetter, Jordan R. Bass, Brian S. Gordon
The primary focus of this study was to examine the role family members play in the college selection process for NCAA Division III student-athletes. The role of family members in the college selection process has been studied for nonathletes, NCAA Division I athletes, NCAA Division II athletes, and at a cross-divisional level for specific NCAA sports. In such research related to intercollegiate student-athletes, research has primarily been conducted quantitatively with the use of survey techniques. Little research exists specifically exploring the role of family members in the college selection process for NCAA Division III athletes. Based on the lack of research, the overarching Division III philosophy, the pure participation rates of NCAA Division III athletes (more than 180,000 current Division III athletes), and the ideal fit of Family Systems Theory to this selection process, this research study is fitting. In this project, sixty-nine student-athletes participated in semistructured interviews at eleven different NCAA Division III institutions. Five prompts directly related to potential family influence were asked. Data were analyzed using open coding based on a priori and emergent themes. Responses are collectively summarized and representative responses are presented verbatim. Results are also discussed through the framework of Family Systems Theory and related back to previous literature on the role of the family in the college selection process.

José Murilo Rocha, Iara Lucia Gomes Brasileiro

The moderating role of strategy and environment on the relationship between corporate liquidity and investment: evidence from panel data
Celísia Baptista, Fernanda Matias, Patrícia Oom do Valle
In order to test the moderating role of corporate strategy and
industry environment in the effect of liquidity on investment
for Portuguese manufacturing firms, we developed a multiple
linear regression model for panel data. It is a static model with
three types of variables: financial; strategic/environmental;
and interactive. The estimated model was validated through
the Breusch-Pagan/Cook-Weisberg and Wald Modified tests
(heteroscedasticity tests), Lagrange Multiplier (industry
random effects test, using the two-digit National Classification
of Economic Activities), Hausman robust test (fixed effects
model vs. random effects model test) and likelihood-ratio test
(joint effect of industry and time test). The statistical
processing of the data revealed that a company’s strategy
(diversification and innovation) and the industry environment
(growth) moderate the effect of liquidity on investment, which
can be explained by the effect of these factors on the cost of
asymmetric information.

Debunking the Myth of Pregnancy Doping
Elizabeth A. Sorensen
The notion that pregnancy and abortion are forms of doping has persisted for 20 years. Popular and scientific literature on pregnancy/abortion doping was critically analyzed to compare pregnancy/abortion doping with definitions of doping and blood doping and to compare pregnancy/abortion doping themes to current scientific knowledge. Main themes included oxygenation advantage and hormonal advantage. During pregnancy, maximal oxygen uptake may improve but not exercise performance. Human chorionic gonadotropin, the only pregnancy hormone on National Collegiate Athletic Association and United States Anti-Doping Agency banned substances lists, increases during pregnancy but there is no evidence that hCG enhances athletic performance in women. Recommendations include revising USADA and NNCAA policies into congruence with World Anti-Doping Agency policies which ban hCG for men only. During the past seven years of advocating for college student-athlete athletic department pregnancy and parenting policies, popular nonscientific literature (websites, blogs, and personal anecdotes) and scientific literature have been examined to detect barriers to student-athlete health and policy change. One barrier is a persistent belief in popular literature that athletes can use pregnancy and/or abortion to enhance competitive performance; i.e., as a form of prohibited blood doping. The scientific and nonscientific resources on pregnancy and abortion doping have considerably diverged over the past 20 years. The purposes of this paper were to examine the biophysical themes in popular and scientific definitions of doping, blood doping, and pregnancy /abortion doping, compare pregnancy/abortion doping to current scientific knowledge, and make recommendations to the stakeholders: student-athletes, coaches, athletic trainers, team physicians, athletic and university administrators, university faculty, the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).

Sources and Consequences of Athletic Burnout among College Athletes
Daniel Gould, Meredith A. Whitley
It has been shown that it takes 10 years or 10,000 hours of deliberate practice to develop one’s talent in any field, including athletics (Ericsson, 1996). Given the amount of time, sacrifice, and effort needed to become an expert athlete, it is not surprising that researchers have been interested in examining burnout in competitive athletes (see: Cresswell & Eklund, 2006; Goodger, Gorely, Lavalle, & Harwood, 2007; Gould & Dieffenbach, 2002, for detailed reviews). While burnout has been defined in several ways, it can generally be viewed as a physical, social, and emotional withdrawal from a formerly enjoyable activity as a result of chronic stress and motivation concerns that is typically characterized by feelings of emotional exhaustion, reduced accomplishment, and depersonalization/devaluation. In this review, research and theories on burnout in athletes are examined for the purposes of identifying sources of and consequences of burnout in collegiate athletes. Future research directions are identified as well as implications for protecting the health and welfare of student athletes.
