The objective of this article is to explore how typographic strategies can reflect a brand's personality across different industrial sectors through a literature review and qualitative analysis. The research highlights the crucial role of typography in creating a strong and coherent visual identity. It analyzes the use of typefaces in sectors such as finance, technology, food, and fashion, identifying key characteristics in typeface selection for each sector. The findings reveal that in the financial sector, sans serif typefaces dominate due to their simplicity and professionalism, while in the technology sector, they are appreciated for their modernity and readability. In the food sector, typography evokes sensations: script fonts convey freshness and approachability, while sans serif fonts generate perceptions of acidity or sweetness depending on their terminals. In the fashion sector, both serif and sans serif fonts aim to project an image of elegance and exclusivity. The research will conclude that effective typographic management, based on both technical and emotional principles, is essential for achieving a strong and competitive visual identity.

Type foundries are adopting innovative strategies like selling unfinished typefaces, creating separate collections, and launching sub-brands to enhance creativity and engage users. This qualitative study explores approaches by Future Fonts, Zetafonts, OH no Type Foundry, Foundry5, Swiss Typefaces, Commercial Type, and Pangram Pangram, linking them to ambidextrous marketing and disruptive innovation. The findings suggest that these models democratise design through user feedback, encourage design diversity, preserve core identities, and expand creative scope, but have not yet ensured financial sustainability. Further research, particularly quantitative studies and user insights, is needed to assess the long-term viability and impact on the type industry.
Bringing together comics analysis, autobiography studies, and narrative theory, this article aims to analyse different ways in which graphic life narratives expose the illusion of a stable and unified autobiographical subject. The first part focuses on the perceived split between the present and past self and its manifestation in autobiographical discourse as the narrating-I and narrated-I, exploring different methods autobiographical comics employ to foreground the fragmented self and to favour the perspective of the past or of the present. The next part analyses the interplay between the narrating-I and the narrated-I in a short comic story from Aline Kominsky Crumb’s Need More Love (2007). Not only does this story challenge the divide between the two positions of the self, it also illustrates the view of identity as a performative construct. The final part of this article offers an interpretation of Katie Green’s Lighter than My Shadow (2013), focusing on the way this graphic memoir enacts narrative self-construction as an interpretative and meaning-making process that can facilitate healing. While this process typically involves finding coherence and continuity in the narrated experience, the memoir also reveals that such coherence-building has its limitations.

El siguiente texto titulado “El ‘Festival de la arcilla’ como práctica ciudadana activista del departamento del Huila” hace parte de la continuación de un proyecto de investigación que busca establecer las relaciones entre las artes visuales y la violencia política. El propósito del escrito consiste en reflexionar sobre las experiencias que han tenido algunas comunidades para dinamizar las prácticas visuales correspondientes al activismo artístico ciudadano. Como situación problemática se busca indagar sobre los modos que tales activismos se visibilizan en el sur de nuestro país. Se trata de una investigación sobre el arte contemporáneo colombiano, fundamentada en los estudios sociales; por lo cual es un proyecto de carácter interdisciplinario. La metodología aplicada versa sobre consulta de documentos, realización de entrevistas y la revisión de fotografías. El escrito concluye que las prácticas ciudadanas activistas corresponden a otras maneras de implementar el activismo social o los movimientos que buscan contradecir los parámetros culturales establecidos. Tales prácticas involucran a las personas y grupos generalmente segregados o invisibilizados por medio de la activa participación; al tiempo, se centran en una serie de planeaciones, gestiones y acciones de tipo etnográfico, en el cual los proyectos planteados y las actividades formativas/creativas se desenvuelven en, con y para grupos comunitarios. En suma, se puede decir que las prácticas ciudadanas activistas citadas lograron la organización comunitaria y crear arte con colectividades y en territorios por fuera de los marcos artísticos de visibilización departamental y nacional.
Abstract This study presents a robustness optimization method for rapid prototyping (RP) of functional artifacts based on visualized computing digital twins (VCDT). A generalized multiobjective robustness optimization model for RP of scheme design prototype was first built, where thermal, structural, and multidisciplinary knowledge could be integrated for visualization. To implement visualized computing, the membership function of fuzzy decision-making was optimized using a genetic algorithm. Transient thermodynamic, structural statics, and flow field analyses were conducted, especially for glass fiber composite materials, which have the characteristics of high strength, corrosion resistance, temperature resistance, dimensional stability, and electrical insulation. An electrothermal experiment was performed by measuring the temperature and changes in temperature during RP. Infrared thermographs were obtained using thermal field measurements to determine the temperature distribution. A numerical analysis of a lightweight ribbed ergonomic artifact is presented to illustrate the VCDT. Moreover, manufacturability was verified based on a thermal-solid coupled finite element analysis. The physical experiment and practice proved that the proposed VCDT provided a robust design paradigm for a layered RP between the steady balance of electrothermal regulation and manufacturing efficacy under hybrid uncertainties.

Bu çalışmanın amacı farklı ülkelerde lisans düzeyinde bulunan animasyon öğretim programlarındaki derslerin çeşitliliğini ve dağılımını araştırmaktır. Çalışma kapsamında ABD, Avrupa, Birleşik Krallık, Kıbrıs, Singapur ve Türkiye olmak üzere 52 farklı üniversitedeki animasyon lisans öğretim programlarındaki 1030 adet ders incelenmiştir. Çalışmada nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden doküman analizi yöntemi kullanılmış, elde edilen veriler betimsel olarak yorumlanmıştır. Ders ismi-üniversite matrisi, derslerin ait oldukları üniversite-bölüm, zorunlu-seçmeli ders olma durumlarını gösteren belirtke tablosu hazırlanmış ve ders çeşitliliği frekans ve yüzde değerleri halinde sunulmuştur. Araştırma sonucunda, programlarda farklı isimde benzer içerikli, aynı isimde farklı içerikte derslerin bulunduğu, derslerin geleneksel uygulamalı dersler, dijital uygulamalı dersler ve teorik dersler olarak üç ana gruba ayrıldığı görülmüştür. ABD, TR, BK ve AB’de geleneksel tabanlı derslerin %63, dijital tabanlı derslerin %37 oranında yer aldığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Uygulamalı dersler özelinde ise dijitale nazaran geleneksel tabanlı dersler ABD (%62), BK (%58) ve TR (%57) programlarında ağırlıklı yer kapladığı, yalnızca AB programlarında %48 oranı ile dijital uygulamalı derslerin gerisinde kaldığı görülmüştür. Zorunlu ve seçmeli ders dağılımlarında ise zorunlu derslerin oranının ABD (%75), BK (%65), AB (%76) ve TR (%61) programlarında daha yüksek olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
Este artículo presenta los resultados de un proyecto de investigación cuyo objetivo general fue reflexionar en torno a las características de la creación audiovisual amateur en la era digital, a partir de la revisión de variaciones y continuidades en el tiempo con respecto a las prácticas de producción no profesional con otros dispositivos como la fotografía y el cine. Las siguientes líneas se enfocan en un recorrido de ida y vuelta hacia el pasado y el presente que, a través de la interpretación dialéctica, permite establecer comparaciones entre características del desarrollo del cine amateur y la producción audiovisual amateur que circula en Internet o homecasting. Basado en la revisión documental y enmarcado en postulados provenientes de la historia cultural, los estudios visuales, los estudios culturales y la sociología de la tecnología, se concluye que en el panorama actual de producción
audiovisual, esta comparación entre cine amateur y homecasting, más allá de señalar algunos elementos específicos, aporta a la necesaria indagación multidisciplinaria y a la inclusión de vectores como el histórico-cultural, para comprender, estudiar y enseñar de formas más críticas y complejas las visualidades contemporáneas.
In the process from past to present, life has evolved in a changing world order. In prehistoric times, while basic needs were housing and nutrition, needs and expectations have changed with the developing industry. However, the changing order depending on the existence of humanity has led to the emergence of many flaws. While human beings always wanted to be in the center of life, they desire new worlds and a more perfect order as the parameters in life are continuously changing. Many thoughts that are known to be impossible to realize as a result of the desire to solve the difficulties that human beings face within the limits of their life constitute the utopias. Although it seems impossible for utopias to capture the reality, the individual should not put anything between the object and the object order to perceive the reality with the images envisioned by the individuals. Expressing the representations produced independently of the object through space, catalize the understanding of utopias and the attendance in them.
The designs that highlight the building, which is the object of today's architecture, have been introduced. The important thing in architecture, which is thought to bring a critical expression to this form of understanding, is actually the representation of the structure of the thought with various means, instead of the structure, which is important in architecture. Bacon's The New Atlantis is the sample chosen for a textual analysis within the scope of this study, which was prepared considering that it would add a different dimension to the architectural discussions. The representations of the texts, independently from objects, are dealt through spatial fiction. It is aimed to examine the spatial relations through the ideal society fiction and the unreal world that Bacon handles with his utopian expression. The aim of Bacon, who makes the social world and nature the object of design in his writing, is to dominate nature and to make it the object of human mind and science, with the representation of the places on the island named Bensalem. It is seen that the utopian connection in the formation of the space designs is constructed over nature.

Kinect merupakan perangkat sensor motion capture yang mulanya dipakai untuk video game controller, tapi kini digunakan untuk berbagai macam keperluan yang membutuhkan sensor gerak. Kinect relatif murah dan mudah untuk didapatkan dan dipakai sebagai motion capture untuk menggerakkan karakter digital 3D. Dalam penelitian ini, uji coba dilakukan terhadap kemampuan Kinect dalam set-up sistem motion capture yang sesederhana mungkin dan mudah untuk dapat diakses oleh awam. Dari hasil uji coba didapatkan hasil dan saran atau anjuran pemakaian dan set-up yang paling efektif untuk dapat menggerakkan sebuah karakter digital 3D. Diharapkan hasil ini dapat mendorong penggunaan potensi Kinect lebih maksimal.
El presente artículo estudia y examina la serie fotoliteraria de Victor Burgin titulada Gradiva (1982). Este artista y teórico de la imagen reflexiona en ella acerca de las asunciones culturales que limitan el lenguaje y las posibilidades expresivas de dos medios como la fotografía y el cine. A través del argumento de la novela de Wilhelm Jensen Gradiva: una fantasía pompeyana (1903), Burgin aúna su interés por el psicoanálisis y su trabajo como filósofo de los medios de comunicación. La iconología de esta heroína se enriquece con las posibilidades de lectura surgidas gracias a la utilización del rebus como instrumento expresivo en la obra de Burgin.

У статті розглянуто особливості вирішення інтер’єру вестибюлю сучасних готелів. Метою даного дослідження є аналіз просторової організації інтер’єрів вестибюлів готелів, найбільш вдалих композиційних рішень та типів просторової композиції. Проведено аналіз композиційної організації простору, виявлено типи композицій, досліджено використані засоби художньої виразності композиції та архітектурно-художні прийоми, які надають інтер’єрам неповторності, вишуканості і спонукають відвідувачів повертатися до улюбленого місця. Встановлено що найбільш вживаним є центричний тип композиції вестибюлів готелів. Другим розповсюдженим типом композиції вестибюлів готелів є осьова композиція. Найчастіше головна вісь з’єднує вхідну зону і зону рецепції. Зазвичай це симетрична і статична композиція, але можливі і асиметричні, динамічні варіанти. Багатоцентрова та багатоосьова композиції зазвичай використовуються у вестибюлях із складним планом. Окремі композиційні центри формуються у вестибюлях великої площі групами елементів навколо своїх власних акцентів і часто відповідають різним функційним зонам. Це може бути група елементів зони рецепції, група елементів зони відпочинку, елементи інформаційної зони, торговельної зони з бутіками, дитячої ігрової зони, зони громадського харчування з міні-кафе, тощо. Акцентами в таких багатоцентрових композиціях можуть бути малі архітектурні форми, елементи аквадизайну, у тому числі фонтани, акваріуми, тераріуми, зелені стіни живих рослин, зимові сади, елементи дитячих ігрових майданчиків тощо. Особливостями вирішення вестибюлів готелів є використання перепадів висот приміщення, гра з масштабами, перспективних порталів та інших перспективних ілюзій, які ілюзорно змінюють розміри приміщень. Цікавим прийомом є використання етнічних особливостей мистецтва різних регіонів, що створює неповторний національний колорит інтер’єру
Мета дослідження – проаналізувати основні тенденції у сучасній архітектурі на прикладі тимчасових літніх павільйонів художньої галереї Серпентайн, розташованої у Кенсінгтонських садах Гайд-парку у Лондоні, до створення яких протягом 2000–2018 років залучались найвідоміші архітектори з усього світу. Методи дослідження. Використано методи синтезу, порівняння, узагальнення, а також історичний підхід із залученням вивчення наукових праць провідних теоретиків історії архітектури й аналізу проектної практики. Наукова новизна полягає у тому, що у статті вперше здійснено спробу проаналізувати сучасні тенденції в архітектурі виставкових павільйонів з виявленням нових підходів у архітектурному проектуванні, формоутворенні, застосуванні нових будівельних матеріалів з урахуванням стилістичних трансформацій і творчого почерку автора. Висновки. Ретроспективний огляд вісімнадцяти павільйонів галереї Серпентайн у Лондоні дозволяє виділити низку тенденцій у сучасній архітектурі. Спочатку до створення павільйонів залучалися видатні архітектори старшого покоління, переважно представники стилю деконструктивізм. Останнім часом запрошуються порівняно молоді авангардні архітектори, які поєднують у своїй творчості як технологічні інновації, так і автентичні етнічні мотиви. Окрім архітекторів у творчому процесі активну участь беруть художники, скульптори, ландшафтні дизайнери й інженери, які на час створення унікального об’єкту об’єднуються в мережеву форму організації архітектурного проектування. У формотворенні спостерігається тенденція перетікання внутрішнього простору у зовнішній, трактування споруди як арт-об’єкта. Поряд із застосуванням традиційних для павільйонного будівництва матеріалів (сталеві, дерев’яні конструкції), використовується скловолокно і полімерна плівка.
Proyecto EntreNiebla: Development of a composite material with wicker residue, financed by the cnca and Fondart 2017, folio 413281; is a research project based on experimentation of composite materials created on the basis of organic waste, which aims to produce a material based on the willow fiber in disuse, using low complexity technology. To achieve this, a. an information survey carried out to quantify how much wicker residue the Chimbarongo artisans generated. This would allow determining the productive capacity of the material; and b. the process of composition and conformation of the composite material was evaluated, to establish a procedural method for its conformation and a technical sheet of its main characteristics. Based on this results, possible applications were explored around the creation of secondary packaging for products manufactured by the Cooperativa de Berries from Chimbarongo. In order to: give the waste an useful life, avoid its incineration, and reduce the environmental impact that generates in the community; while also creating added value in local products, from a package that reuses raw material that is being discarded.
The comics form has not remained untouched by true crime’s massive surge in status across popular culture, especially in America. Comics as a form is uniquely positioned to represent violent and graphic narratives in such a way as to maximise reader affect and create a chronicle of crime that is both entertaining and captivating, guiding and being guided by the reader. Two comics have received massive critical acclaim for their portrayals of ‘famous’ American serial killers: Jeffrey Dahmer in Derf’s My Friend Dahmer (2012) and Arthur Shawcross in Jeff Jensen & Jonathan Case’s Green River Killer (2011). This article considers the framing techniques deployed in both comics. I consider how these two comics, distinct in their artistic presentation and their focus, frame their respective subjects and represent the complexities of serial murder. To conclude, I perform a close analysis of one framing aspect of My Friend Dahmer and expand on what the execution of this technique can tell us about comics as a true crime form.

Este documento se pregunta por la responsabilidad social del Diseñador Gráfico en el campo de la Identidad Visual más allá del impacto comercial que puedan alcanzar los identificadores en la sociedad de consumo. Se apoya en un marco conceptual compuesto por algunos estudios actuales de la Imagen Corporativa y el Branding; define como contexto la contemporaneidad y desde esta retoma el concepto de identidad y asume desde una postura política más que ideológica una responsabilidad social y ética del diseñador. Con este marco y un enfoque metodológico desde la semiótica peirceana que se apoya en algunos referentes situados en la filosofía del lenguaje, y en la sociología se propone la configuración y el diseño de nuevos símbolos de actores sociales que partan conceptualmente de comprensiones que permiten generar aportes significativos para la visibilización de problemáticas sociales complejas.
