Debate ethics education in the Quran: an examination of tafsir al-Misbah

Differences in thought and opinion frequently arise in social interactions, often leading to debates. This study aims to explore how Al-Misbah interprets debate ethics in the Qur'an, emphasizing the importance of understanding ethical argumentation without causing division. Using a qualitative methodology based on library research, this study examines M. Quraish Shihab’s interpretation of Al-Misbah as reflected in several Qur’anic verses, including QS. Al-Kahf 18:54, QS. An-Nahl 16:125, QS. Ghafir 40:5, QS. Al-Hajj 22:8, and QS. Al-Ankabut 29:46. The findings indicate that teaching proper debate ethics according to the Qur'an involves revisiting these interpretations, which highlight the need for self-control (not being easily provoked by emotion), logical reasoning, and polite rhetoric free from violence or insults. Debate should be grounded in knowledge, presenting correct arguments with confidence and aiming to persuade opponents through clear and respectful communication.

THE METHODOLOGY OF HAMMAD B. SALAMAH IN HADITH PRESERVATION DURING THE ERA OF THE TABI‘ AL-TABI‘IN

The methodology of Hammad ibn Salamah in preserving hadith during the tabi’ al-tabi’in era was marked by the widespread fabrication of hadith, triggered by political conflicts and animosity among Islamic groups. This condition raised concerns about the authenticity of Islamic teachings, particularly hadith. In response to this challenge, the ulama, including Hammad ibn Salamah, strived diligently to maintain the originality of hadith by exercising caution in accepting narrations. This research aims to identify and analyze in-depth the steps taken by Hammad ibn Salamah in narrating and preserving the authenticity of hadith in his time. The research method employed is a literature review with a qualitative approach. The research results indicate that Hammad ibn Salamah possessed a strict methodology in receiving and transmitting hadith. This was reflected in his meticulousness regarding the credibility of narrators, his careful verification of their memorization strength, and his known expertise in disciplines such as rijal al-hadits, tadlis al-hadits, asma’ al-rijal, sanad criticism, and deep understanding of hadith texts. These findings suggest the significant role of Hammad ibn Salamah in safeguarding the genuineness of hadith amidst the potential emergence of false and weak hadith during the tabi’ al-tabi’in period. This research is expected to provide a better contribution regarding the efforts of the early Muslim scholars (salaf) in preserving the prophetic heritage and its relevance to contemporary hadith studies.   [Metodologi Hammad ibn Salamah dalam menjaga hadis pada era tabi’ al-tabi’in diwarnai dengan maraknya pemalsuan hadis yang dipicu oleh konflik politik dan permusuhan antar kelompok Islam. Kondisi ini menimbulkan kekhawatiran akan keautentikan ajaran Islam, terutama hadis. Sebagai respons terhadap tantangan ini, para ulama, termasuk Hammad ibn Salamah, berupaya keras untuk menjaga keaslian hadis dengan menerapkan kehati-hatian dalam menerima periwayatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis secara mendalam langkah-langkah yang ditempuh oleh Hammad ibn Salamah dalam meriwayatkan dan memelihara keautentikan hadis pada masanya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi literatur dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan historis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Hammad ibn Salamah memiliki metodologi yang ketat dalam menerima dan menyampaikan hadis, yang tercermin dalam kehati-hatiannya dalam kredibilitas rawi dalam memverifikasi verifikasi kekuatan hafalan mereka, dan juga dikenal mendalami disiplin ilmu seperti rijal al-hadits, tadlis al-hadits,asma’ al-rijal, kritik sanad, dan pemahaman mendalam terhadap matan hadis. Temuan ini mengindikasikan peran signifikan Hammad ibn Salamah dalam menjaga keaslian hadis di tengah potensi munculnya hadis palsu dan lemah pada periode tabi’ al-tabi’in. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi yang lebih baik mengenai upaya-upaya ulama salaf dalam menjaga warisan kenabian dan relevansinya bagi studi hadis kontemporer.]

Meyakini Qadha’ dan Qadar dalam Al-Qur’andan Relevansinya dengan Ketenangan Jiwa

Qadha’ dan qadar merupakan konsep penting dalam ajaran Islam yang berkaitan dengan takdir atau ketentuan Allah terhadap segala sesuatu yang terjadi di alam semesta. Iman kepada qadha’ dan qadar merupakan rukun iman ke-6 dan umat Islam wajib mengimaninya. Qadha’ merupakan suatu ketentuan Allah SWT atas segala sesuatu yang di dalamnya terdapat suatu kehendak Allah SWT. Sedangkan qadar merupakan suatu perwujudan atas kehendak, ketentuan maupun ukuran Allah SWT atas segala sesuatunya. Tulisan ini bertujuan mengulas mengenai konsep qadha’ dan qadar dalam al-Qur’an dan kolerasinya dengan ketenangan jiwa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif-kepustakaan, dengan sumber data primer dari al-Qur’an serta menggunakan metode tafsir maudhu’i. Dengan demikian, tulisan ini menunjukkan bahwa konsep ketenangan jiwa sangat berpengaruh terhadap keyakinan kepada qadha’ dan qadar yang dijelaskan al-Qur’an, di mana seseorang akan merasa lebih tenang dalam menerima segala ketentuan dan ketetapan yang dialaminya. Keimanan kepada qadha’ dan qadar memberikan dampak besar dalam kehidupan sehari-hari karena memungkinkan seseorang untuk menerima takdir dengan ikhlas, mengatasi stres dan tetap sabar menghadapi tantangan hidup. Tulisan ini berkontribusi dalam memberikan pemahaman nilai-nilai keislaman yang dapat berpengaruh terhadap ketenangan pikiran dan pengelolaan kekhawatiran.

Katılım Bankacılığında Bireysel Emeklilik Sistemi (BES) Teminatlı İhtiyaç Finansmanı Yöntemi ve Fıkhî Açıdan Değerlendirilmesi

Tarih boyunca bireyler, finansman ihtiyaçlarını karşılamak amacıyla farklı yöntemler geliştirmiştir. Bunlar arasında en yaygın kullanılanlardan biri olan borç ilişkisine dayalı yöntemler, konvansiyonel bankacılığın ortaya çıkışıyla birlikte büyük ölçüde faiz temelli bir hal almıştır. Ancak faiz hassasiyeti olan bireyler için bu durum, alternatif finansman modellerine olan ihtiyacı artırmış ve bu doğrultuda faizsiz bankacılık -Türkiye’deki adıyla katılım bankacılığı- ortaya çıkmış ve bu alanda kullanılabilecek faizsiz finansman enstrümanları tasarlanmıştır. Teknolojik gelişmeler ve dijitalleşmenin etkisiyle tüketim alışkanlıklarında hızlı değişimler yaşanmış, bireylerin ihtiyaç kalemleri çeşitlenmiş ve dolayısıyla nakit ihtiyacı artmıştır. Bu kapsamda faizsiz finansman yöntemlerini tercih eden bireyler yalnızca yatırım amaçlı finansman taleplerinde bulunmakla kalmamış; eğitim, sağlık, seyahat ve dayanıklı tüketim malları gibi çeşitli ihtiyaçlarını karşılamak üzere de nakit talep etmeye başlamışlardır. Katılım bankaları, bu taleplere yanıt vermek amacıyla çeşitli finansman modelleri geliştirmiştir. Bu modeller arasında teverruk, icâre temelli hizmet finansmanı, yatırım fonu temelli finansman ve Bireysel Emeklilik Sistemi (BES) teminatlı ihtiyaç finansmanı gibi yöntemler öne çıkmaktadır. Söz konusu bu çalışma, kapsamının sınırlı olması nedeniyle yalnızca BES birikimlerinin teminat gösterildiği, belli bankalarca sunulan BES teminatlı ihtiyaç finansmanı uygulamasına odaklanmaktadır. Çalışmanın temel amacı, Türkiye’de sunulan BES teminatlı ihtiyaç finansmanı uygulamasını hem işleyişi hem de fıkhî açıdan değerlendirmektir. Araştırmanın literatüre katkısı, konuya ilişkin müstakil akademik çalışmaların bulunmaması göz önüne alındığında, bu boşluğu kısmen de olsa doldurma yönündeki çabasına dayanmaktadır. Zira her ne kadar katılım bankacılığında nakit kullandırma yöntemleri ile sigorta ve BES üzerine çeşitli fıkhî çalışmalar mevcut olsa da özel olarak BES teminatlı ihtiyaç finansmanına dair müstakil bir çalışmaya rastlanmamıştır. Çalışmada katılım bankacılığı uygulamaları ve ilgili literatür esas alınarak nitel bir yöntem benimsenmiş, ürünün işlem seti de adım adım analiz edilmiştir. Makalenin birinci bölümünde BES teminatlı ihtiyaç finansmanının muhtevası, avantajları, dezavantajları ve işlem süreçleri incelenmiştir. İkinci bölümde ise katılım bankacılığında kullanılabilecek BES teminatlı bazı yöntemlere değinilmiştir. Ardından BES teminatlı ihtiyaç finansmanı, faizsiz finans ilke ve standartları çerçevesinde fıkhî bir analize tabi tutulmuştur. Araştırmalar sonucunda, BES teminatlı ihtiyaç finansmanının işlem setindeki adımlara riayet edilmesi şartıyla fıkhî açıdan meşru kabul edilebileceği tespit edilmiştir. Bununla birlikte özellikle herhangi bir varlığa dayanmayan tüketim amaçlı nakit finansman taleplerinde, bireylerin mali dengelerini koruyabilmeleri için dikkatli ve planlı kullanımın önem taşıdığı vurgulanmıştır. BES teminatlı modelin, bireylerin ödeme güçlüğü riskine karşı belirli ölçüde güvence sunduğu bulgusuna da ulaşılmıştır.

CONSTRUCTING FOREIGN POLICY THROUGH DEMOCRATIC DISCOURSES: Insights from Indonesia and Turkiye

This research explores how Indonesia and Türkiye construct their foreign policies. This research uses Lene Hansen’s discourse analysis model to closely observe how critical events in global politics, especially after 9/11, influence foreign policymakers throughout the world, especially foreign policymakers in Indonesia and Türkiye. Even though Indonesia and Türkiye had positioned themselves in different positions throughout the Cold War, both countries tried to form new doctrines for their foreign policies as they democratize themselves. To examine this construction, this study will focus on analyzing discourse as one of the instruments used in shaping foreign policy. Using official speeches and statements as primary sources for the discourse analysis, this research shows that one of the discourses that were frequently emphasized in Indonesian and Turkish foreign policy during the 2000s is the discourse of ‘democracy’. From the perspective of Indonesian and Turkish foreign policymakers, the discourse of ‘democracy’ has been placed as one of the core discourses in the process of foreign policy formation of both countries. This discourse has also played a crucial role in determining the regional and global politics of both countries.

Impact of Islamic Marketing Strategies on Firm Performance: Evidence from Jaiz Bank, Plc. Nigeria

The global business landscape has recently observed a notable increase in the adoption of specialized marketing strategies tailored to align with cultural, religious, and ethical principles. One prominent example of such a strategy is Islamic marketing, which caters to Muslim consumers' preferences and needs while upholding Islamic finance tenets. This study investigates the impact of Islamic marketing strategies on firm performance, focusing on Jaiz Bank, Nigeria's leading non-interest bank. Using a quantitative approach, this study analyzed secondary data from annual reports over a ten-year period (2012–2021) and apply linear regression to examine the relationship between Islamic marketing practices and key financial metrics: return on assets (ROA), dividend yields, and earnings per share (EPS). Results reveal a statistically significant impact of Islamic marketing on EPS, while its influence on dividend yields is limited, and its effect on ROA is not statistically significant. These findings suggest that while Islamic marketing strategies can enhance certain financial outcomes, they may require refinement or supplementation to drive comprehensive firm performance. This study contributes to the emerging field of Islamic marketing by offering empirical insights into its financial impacts, with implications for strategic development in Islamic financial institutions.

Penerapan Metode Double Loop Problem Solving dengan Berbantuan Media Aplikasi Animaker dalam Pembelajaran Menulis Teks Anekdot pada Siswa Kelas X SMA Pasundan 2 Bandung Tahun Pelajaran 2023/2024

This research was conducted to overcome problems among students who still have difficulties in writing skills, especially in learning to write anecdotal texts. The causal factor is that educators are less varied in choosing learning methods and media. The aim of this research is to test the ability of writers and students in learning to write anecdotal texts using the Double Loop Problem Solving Method with the help of the Animaker Application media. The research method used was a Quasi Experimental method with a Nonequivalent control group design type. Data collection techniques include literature review, trials, observation, tests and documentation. Based on the research results, it shows that students are able to write anecdotal texts well based on content, structure and linguistic rules. This is supported by the average pre-test score in the experimental class of 56.4 and the average post-test score of 80.2, so there is an increase of 23.8. Referring to the results of statistical calculations using Mann Whitney, it shows that there is a significant difference in the ability of students in writing anecdotal texts in the experimental class which uses the Double Loop Problem Solving method assisted by media Animaker application with the ability of students in the control class which uses the method discution. This is supported by the Asymp Sig results. (2-tailed) 0.00 < 0.05. Based on these data, it can be concluded that learning anecdotal texts using the Double Loop Problem Solving method assisted by the Animaker application is effective in improving students' ability to write anecdotal texts.

Actualization of Religious Moderation Values In Islamic Religious Education Teachers In Madrasah

Religious Moderation is one of the Strategic Programs of the Ministry of Religion which is reduced from the 2020-2024 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN). The Religious Moderation Program was released by the Ministry of Religion to be implemented in all areas of life, including education. Moreover, one of the authorities of the Ministry of Religion is related to religious and religious education. This is the basis for grounding the idea of Religious Moderation in religious and religious education in formal and informal educational institutions. The application of the values of religious moderation is the main key to realizing them. This assumption is based on the empirical conditions of educators in Padangsidimpuan City. Based on this analytical study of educators, there is a need for a Manual for Strengthening Religious Moderation for educators. In addition, this book is needed especially for Islamic Religious Education teachers who are considered to be a solution in increasing the level of knowledge, understanding, and application of the values of religious moderation both in learning Islamic Religious Education and in the context of life in madrasas and Islamic boarding schools. While it is known that the area around Padangsidimpuan City is a mountainous area which is relatively difficult to access online sources of information, even though this book is provided in electronic or digital form. Therefore, not many educators know and can access this book.

Prevention Strategy of Violence in Pesantren

Violence such as beatings, intimidation, sexual harassment, and other forms often occur in many Pesantren. Cases of violence in Pesantren tarnished the name of Pesantren collectively, received stigma from various groups, and diminished public trust in Pesantren regarding the safety of students. Violence and bullying in Pesantren imply the significance and urgency of preventing violence and creating a safe Pesantren environment. Prevention of violence in Pesantren needs to be done with an effective strategy and a comprehensive approach. This paper aims to describe strategies for preventing violence in Pesantren and their relevance to various forms of violence in Pesantren, including bullying and sexual harassment. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with a case study approach. The data in this study are primary data obtained by observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results of the study found that the prevention strategies used at Dayah Ummul Ayman included strengthening the supervisory function at the layer closest to the santri, continuing counseling on anti-violence in Pesantren, teaching commendable moral values, and internalizing commendable moral values. This paper is weak in generalization due to the use of qualitative methods. The researcher recommends that future researchers may use mixed methods in research on violence in Pesantren to produce more thorough and comprehensive findings.

Indonesia's Human Development Index (HDI) belongs to the lower middle class in Southeast Asia, marked by the slowing growth of HDI, so that all elements of society are required to improve their skills and competencies. One way is through the field of education, through knowledge management in an educational institution that aims to improve the competence of the teacher council, MI Nurul Huda 2 Mojokerto City is one of the educational institutions that links the role of knowledge management as a step to improve organizational performance, through the implementation of the KKG (Group Group). Teacher Work) together with the Sister School namely MI Muslimat NU, Pucang, Sidoarjo they collaborated in creating learning innovations, which were then disseminated by KKG participants to all teachers in the educational institution, but in its implementation it was inseparable from obstacles, ranging from the lack of attendance, lack of enthusiasm and lack of enthusiasm for teachers, that's what happened, but all can be overcome by giving rewards for those who are active in activities. while there is also punishment (coaching) for those who are not active in activities, all of which are aimed at achieving the mission and goals of the organization, and the implementation of knowledge management is going well with the result of local wisdom.

Fiqh Al-Hadist Ibn Taimiyah tentang Pluralisme Agama

This paper includes nine hadiths regarding to religious pluralism or multiculturalism. Ibn Taymiyyah gave comments on each hadiths. He said, Muslims should make the instructions of the Prophet as a pattern of thinking and attitude in looking at and interacting with the Jews, Christians, Persian nation and Romanic peoples, so that Moslem people are not imitating and taking for the granted the negative behavior of non-Moslem.
