Enhancing Design Ideation in Traditional Arabian Gulf Artifacts Through the Integration of Contemporary Three-Dimensional Manufacturing Methods

The contemporary designer analyzes and studies the elements of artistic heritage, to identify the intellectual and aesthetic premises that lie in its structure, its elements, its vocabulary, and its encapsulation. With the aim of enriching the design thinking and its sources for the designer and raising the level of creativity and the overall idea of the two- and three-dimensional work, to design artistic models that are original and contemporary, enriching the language of communication between heritage and contemporary. In this way, the heritage and its elements are inspired by a special stylistic display of heritage and its elements in innovative modernist formulations that deviate from the prevailing through its holistic images. And its presentation of elements or processes connected to each other and not as separate parts, to present it in a comprehensive form that supports the opportunities for selection and innovation that stems from it. In addition to those works in which some artists and designers deliberately elevated nature and its elements, drawing inspiration from its elements (human, plant, animal).  And simulating them as a basis for artistic formulation, another group of designers sided with drawing inspiration from the elements of Arab heritage, especially in the traditional Arab Gulf artifacts. As a source for enriching the architecture of 2D and 3D designs, And the design of modern models based on the reading comprehension of the philosophical, aesthetic, and structural dimensions of the elements of that heritage. Increasingly traditional crafts of the gulf region are becoming obsolete because of dwindling numbers of traditional craftsmen and cheap imports from Pakistan and Morocco. There is a need to preserve traditional artefacts in the face of this issue. This research assesses the viability of preserving the traditional Arab Gulf artifacts Using modern 3D manufacturing techniques added to maintain Traditional attributes of the original artifact. The methodology included consideration of requirements based on functionality, aesthetics and traditional elements, and the viability of techniques of such requirements in addition to practical and cost considerations.    Where the study seeks to provide inputs and examines the intellectual and aesthetic premises of the elements of heritage arts, especially the creative and aesthetic arts. In the artistic artifacts in the heritage Arab Gulf region of an artistic, aesthetic, and structural nature, with richness and diversity in the formal and structural forms of traditional Arab Gulf metal products.  As daily life tools such as jugs, trays, incense burners, candlesticks, bowls, cans, dallahs, irons, mirrors, and other metallic artifacts, which represents a fertile source of inspiration, and fertilizes the imagination of the Arab designer to put forward contemporary Arab visions and proposals to enrich design thinking in traditional Arab and Gulf handicrafts and recycling daily life products. And the analytical study of the methods of forming technical design products, their forms and design construction, the materials through which they were designed and formulated, the traditional and new molding methods and techniques, the manufacturing materials, and the surface decorations and textures that dealt with the design plane. To raise the level of creativity and idea, to be inspired by heritage through a special style Heritage and its elements are presented in innovative modernist formulations.

El bestiario Pintura, mancha y crítica pedagógica desde una metodología A_r_tográfica

En el contexto de la educación artística contemporánea, la práctica artística no solo constituye un medio de expresión, sino también una vía de investigación y una forma de conocimiento. La figura animal, como componente esencial del lenguaje visual, ha ocupado históricamente un lugar central en la creación artística. Desde su papel como tótem que simboliza la naturaleza y lo divino, ha evolucionado hasta convertirse en un medio para reflejar estructuras sociales, experiencias individuales y la conciencia educativa. En la pintura moderna y contemporánea, los significados culturales y las estrategias visuales asociadas a las imágenes animales han superado ampliamente la mera representación, convirtiéndose en un lenguaje narrativo visual con potencial crítico y constructivo.Este estudio se basa en la práctica pictórica con el objetivo de explorar cómo la imagen animal puede convertirse en un canal para la imaginación educativa y la reflexión social. A través del análisis del lenguaje visual y los sistemas simbólicos presentes en las obras de artistas como Goya, Antonio Saura, Picasso, Francis Bacon y Anselm Kiefer, se identifican características formales relacionadas con las manchas y los residuos visuales, los cuales se toman como punto de partida para la creación personal. Sobre esta base, se construye un sistema educativo ficticio centrado en figuras animales específicas —el Bestiario Educativo— que combina creación artística, construcción de personajes y crítica pedagógica. Esta propuesta intenta responder, mediante recursos visuales, a los problemas estructurales de la educación contemporánea y proponer una posibilidad educativa diversa y orientada al futuro.En esta investigación, la pintura no solo actúa como medio de expresión visual, sino también como herramienta de indagación práctica. A diferencia de las metodologías dominadas por la fotografía en la investigación educativa artística, la pintura ofrece una dimensión más procesual, emocional y generativa. A través de la transformación visual de la mancha —desde lo figurativo hacia lo abstracto— se ha desarrollado un método creativo que incluye la construcción de personajes educativos, el desarrollo de sistemas narrativos y la proyección de imaginarios futuros, convirtiendo a la pintura en una construcción educativa en sí misma, más allá del contenido didáctico.

A Unified Perspective on Musical Structure: Applying Agawu's Theory to Divergent Interpretations of Form in Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto

Form is one of the most important and challenging concepts in music. Music scholars have long offered diverse interpretations and definitions of musical form, but the multiplicity of interpretations can sometimes lead to confusion and impede the attainment of a clear understanding of the structure of musical works. This is partly due to ‘reverse-engineering.’ When a compositional form is created, the composer may or may not be thinking primarily about structure.  The aesthetic message is at the forefront of the composer’s creative conscience followed by thematic phrases, the connective bridges, timbres of sound (orchestration) and most importantly artistic satisfaction.  Theoreticians get involved with a piece of music after it has been written, hence their point of view is an approximation of the composer’s intent.  Over the years, formal structure has become conclusive evidence for formal musical analysis, even though it is in the aftermath of the creative process.  This is the main reason why theories and examples are often hindered by exceptions and compromised by unique forms and structures. Over the years certain various analytical models have been widely accepted in order to highlight or emphasize certain structural elements in musical forms. The most common model is the sonata form which for the most part reflects the structural form of most repertoire from the mid-18th century up to the present.  But this model like others, only illuminates specific aspects of a musical structure, while overlooking compositional details that can stand to be further investigated. Therefore, conducting multifarious analyses on one musical structure can reveal more facets and result in a deeper understanding of the work. However, one must be aware that diversity in analytical perspectives can also lead to multiplicity and ambiguity in understanding musical structure, especially in the Romantic period. For this reason, Agawu, based on the archetypal tripartite structure of beginning, middle, and end, has proposed a theory for analyzing the structure of Romantic music. By simplifying the overall viewpoint of a musical form, Agawu allows for multiple persperctives or analysis to co-exist within one oeuvre.This qualitative research endeavors to apply Agawu's theory to provide a unified formulation of two different analytical approaches to the structure of Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto; a work whose structural innovations have been little studied. In this regard, using a descriptive-analytical method, the structure of the case study was analyzed using both the sonata form and arch form approaches, and it was determined which aspects of the structure were clarified by these approaches. Then, using Agawu's theory based on the two criteria of position and function, the structure of the case study was analyzed, and finally, two other analytical approaches were also formulated under Agawu's tripartite model to achieve a unified understanding of the different analytical models. By using a more general and simplified model, as suggested by Agawu, musicians and theoreticians are not limited to looking at a musical work with just one analysis.  By allowing mulitiple perspectives for interpretation and examination, a deeper understanding of the creative process can be achieved.

Tutti trasportati su tela dal restauratore Giuseppe Steffanoni, sono oggi tra le opere più celebri del museo Jacquemart-André a Parigi. Sono quelli del salone di villa Contarini a Mira e due soffitti da Palazzo Revedin a San Polo che Édouard André acquista rispettivamente dal proprietario della villa dei Leoni, con la mediazione di Dino Barozzi, e dagli antiquari milanesi Grandi.

En los proyectos de Vivienda Social en La Florida, Núcleo San Diego y Townhouses Lo Recabarren la pregunta respecto a la colectividad se articula en torno al diseño de los elementos y dinámicas espaciales de los accesos, tanto a los conjuntos como entre sus unidades. Circulaciones de dimensiones generosas, materialidades que facilitan los cruces visuales, la posición de las unidades individuales en relación a los espacios colectivos; en todas estas obras, y en su diversidad de condiciones, es en el ámbito del acceso y circulaciones donde las decisiones de diseño extienden con fluidez el espacio de juego y de recreación desde el interior de la vivienda hasta el corazón del espacio común, ofreciendo más formas de convivencia.

Between the mind and the senses: Jean Mitry’s approach to cinematic consciousness

Representing altered states of consciousness, even through the most phantasmal of technical images, is an inherent contradiction; once we attribute a physical body, i.e. objectivity, to mental images, we deny what Husserl considers their very essence. Jean Mitry draws from this assumption when discussing filmic access to mental states from a phenomenological perspective. The following essay reconsiders Mitry’s contribution with specific reference to the role of projection, technically and metaphorically speaking, in the cinematic technique and imagination; this, with the intention of suggesting some crucial questions for the comparison between the filmic forms of the visible and those inaugurated by the technology of the virtual.

Vivienda y estrategias familiares de vida en barrios populares consolidados en Bogotá

Este artículo indaga en la forma en que los hogares propietarios, habitantes de barrios populares consolidados, movilizan su vivienda en sus estrategias familiares de vida. El estudio se realizó en cinco barrios de origen informal de Bogotá, se aplicaron 355 encuestas y 29 entrevistas a propietarios usando el enfoque biográfico. Los resultados dan cuenta de la centralidad económica de la vivienda para los hogares con mayor vulnerabilidad. Se confirma que la casa les ayuda a contener las crisis y en los momentos de bonanza se invierte en ella en primer lugar. En cuanto a las estrategias de movilidad social, la vivienda ha permitido, en algunos casos, apalancar el estudio de los hijos, pero en otros su construcción ha provocado desinversión en capital humano. En síntesis, para estos hogares, la casa propia tiene el papel de contener las inseguridades -propias del capitalismo actual y del estado neoliberal- del sistema social.

A presença do teatro de animação nas instituições de ensino superior

Este artigo tem como objetivo a investigação sobre os procedimentos pedagógicos e os conteúdos ministrados nas disciplinas que abordam o teatro de animação em escolas de ensino superior do Brasil. Para tanto, realizamos uma análise dos programas recentes de oito instituições, localizadas nos estados do Maranhão, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Santa Catarina e do Distrito Federal, que contemplam a disciplina em suas grades curriculares, verifi cando suas similitudes e especifiidades. <p>La noción de autenticidad ocupa un sitio muy importante en el tango rioplatense. Los juicios <br />sobre la tanguidad de ciertas propuestas, es decir, sobre su nivel de autenticidad, existieron de <br />manera permanente desde la Guardia Vieja. En el marco de esta discusión histórica, la música de <br />Astor Piazzolla ha sido encarada desde cuatro posturas primordiales: la primera sostiene que su <br />producción no es tango sino música popular contemporánea de Buenos Aires; la segunda refiere <br />que su música nos lleva de la agonía del tango a la potencia del nombre; la tercera considera que <br />su tango es nómade y la última defiende plenamente su tanguidad. A través del desglose de las <br />referidas visiones se busca analizar su solvencia, aporte al estudio del tango, aplicabilidad actual <br />a las nuevas tendencias, y la eventual complementariedad que pueda existir entre ellas a la hora <br />de encarar un estudio del género y sus compositores</p>

Sul mito della “partecipazione cittadina” a Barcellona Dall’urbanismo franchista al “modello” democratico

Vivevo a Barcellona già da un paio d’anni quando sentii parlare per la prima volta del “modello Barcellona”. La nuova città in cui abitavo non era semplicemente pianificata: si era trasformata in un modello, in un ideale a cui tendere; un esempio di città, valido per altri luoghi, ma soprattutto per le zone di essa che ancora non vi avevano aderito. Il fascino delle Ramblas, l’ambiente notturno del Raval, la movida nelle piazze del barrio de Gràcia, erano in gran parte sensazioni create a tavolino, prodotti di una politica urbana prestabilita.

O papel da universidade na gestão de resíduos sólidos: o caso da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais - UFMG

Este século trouxe muitas demandas novas para a gestão dos resíduos sólidos no Brasil. Concernente a alguns geradores específicos (como, por exemplo, serviços de saúde e empresas indus- triais), as leis são muito mais rígidas e existe uma pressão forte para reciclagem de resíduos domésticos - embora seu cumprimento possa levar muito tempo. As universidades desempenham um papel fundamental na sociedade: ao mesmo tempo criam e difundem o conhecimento, e devem ser uma referência em termos de atitudes, formando alunos, quer como profissionais, quer como cidadãos. Este estudo procura relacionar o que acontece na Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, e na cidade de Belo Horizonte em termos de gestão dos resíduos sólidos. O ensaio considerou exigências externas (leis federais, estadu- ais e locais, as ações gestão ambiental e urbana da cidade, do judiciário - na figura dos promotores públicos - e da sociedade) e disposições internas (administração da universidade e comunidade acadêmica), tentando estabelecer elos entre a cidade e a Universidade. A premissa é que os membros da comunidade acadêmica tendem a se comportar do mesmo modo que o cidadão comum, não exercendo o poder de difusor de conhecimentos transformadores da sociedade.
