O som da aventura: o papel da canção "We Are!" na visualização do animê One Piece
Iago Fillipi Patrocínio Macedo, Juliana Fernandes Teixeira

Anna Kochanowska
Translation activity is traditionally perceived as monomodal, focused on the written or spoken word. However, the evolution of contemporary societies, increasingly visual, often pushes the translator to work on a multimodal product, where language is only one of the modes of communication, hence the emergence of models of multimodal translation. The present contribution studies the literary multimodal translation model based on the album Kłopot by Iwona Chmielewska, world-renowned author and illustrator. The contribution hopes to demonstrate the challenges and opportunities of the multimodal translation workshop, seen as a growing professional activity in today’s multimodal societies.

The Embodiment of the Post-human Child in Malayalam Films
Rona Reesa Kurian, Preeti Navaneeth
The adult-child binary positions the child in a developmental process toward rationality attained through becoming an adult. The child is not considered a ‘whole human’ or given the status of an ‘individual’ in a social context, as seen in the representations of child and childhood in Malayalam films. This study aims to analyze the post-human identity of children in films focusing on how social and cultural systems are portrayed in the selected films titled Manjadikuru (2008), Keshu (2009), and Philips and the Monkey Pen (2013). The article intends to problematize the inequalities, biases, and lack of agency experienced by the post-human child and argues against awarding humanist identity to the child and childhood(s).

What Would Cicero Write?
Todd G. Cook, TGC
Recent developments in Transformer language models now allow users to predict the probability of different sentences and to predict missing words more accurately than before. This new information and perspective can be used to form judgments on novel textual emendations and to further quantify existing historical editorial judgments. We examine the importance of analyzing an author’s corpus, and the impact of the Good-Turing theory of frequency estimation when predicting missing words. We will also outline some of the limits of what Transformer language models can do, and how to practically evaluate them.

Communicative Competence as the Basis of the Digital Age Metaliteracy
T.V. Ustinova
This study aims to clarify the methodological status of metaliteracy and define the role of communicative competence in the structure of metaliteracy. It is stated that metaliteracy is to be regarded as the complex cognitive-communicative information competence. Metacompetence is defined as the person’s ability and readiness for judgment, reasoning, meaning construction and decision-making in learning and communication on the basis of critical selection, processing and evaluation of information. Contribution of linguistic, sociolinguistic and pragmatic competences to information processing ability is analyzed. It is concluded that information processing is communicatively mediated. The didactic value of metacognitive awareness in information processing is highlighted.

Politicians through the press: a Spanish case study during 2008-2012
María Navarro Sorolla, Raquel Rodríguez Díaz
The press cover the politicians’ message and grant them a degree of media visibility, insinuating more or less support for any given party and giving the general public a particular vision of the political class through the media influence on politics. This paper is the result of a study of national coverage of politics (2008-2012), as published in two leading Spanish media sources (El País and El Mundo), with a particular emphasis on the Popular Party (PP) and the Spanish Social Workers’ Party (PSOE). The research considers whether the media give a political use to political information through media negativity. The conclusion was that both daily newspapers use the information in a biased and negative way when dealing with Spanish political information

Bruno Souza Leal (2008), Luiz Gonzaga Motta (2005) e Gianteresio Vatimmo

Rodové podoby deiktických výrazů "ten", "ta" a univerzálnź odkazovací výraz "to" v textech různých stylů
Ivana Kolářová
Deictical pronouns ten, ta, to are much frequented in Czech texts ofvarious style spheres. There are many grammars and stylistic works (textbooks, articles, essays) that deal with the syntactical structures with the pronominal "gender-form" ten, ta and with the universal deictical and referential pronoun to (Mathesius 1947: 187; Smilauer 1947: 29 n.; Jedlicka, Formankova, Rejmankova 1 970: 97, 1 35; Bećka I 992: 199-20 I; Hoffmannova, Mtillerova, Schneiderova I 992: 65-66; Berger I 993: 72; Schneiderova 1 993: 32, 36; Hoffmannova, Mtillerova, Zeman: 42-48, 134-136; Sticha 1999: 1 32-134; Sticha 2003: 249-290).These pronouns are used very often in the spoken texts. The Linguists find that the pronouns ten, ta, to are frequent in the joumalistic, administrative and professional texts, too. They can be considered according to those criterions: a) syntactical structure with the pronouns ten, ta, to; b) function of the pronouns ten, ta, to in those syntactical constructions (connective function, utterance of the emotional attitude of the speaker; c) stylistic quality of the texts with those constructions.
