Directions of emerging structural changes in the use of biometric data in Russia

N. S. Seliverstova

Objective: to identify the emerging structural changes in the use of biometrics in Russia, namely the multiple growth of market participants and brands, the multiple growth of the number of biometrics samples in a single biometric system, and the multiple growth of market volume and institutional design of biometrics use in Russia.   Methods: general scientific, abstract-logical, dialectical, phenomenological methods, observation, description.   Results: the article describes approaches to the use of biometric data in some regions of the world, identifies the risks and potential benefits of wider use of biometric data, summarizes the main trends in the use of biometric personal data in Russia, presents a comprehensive author’s approach to the analysis of structural changes in the economy, taking as an example thedevelopment of solutions using biometric personal data for the identification of individuals.   Scientific novelty: the author proposes to consider the formation of structural shift by identifying its four components and qualitatively assessing their level of formation (low, medium, and high); shows the formation of macro-shifts from micro-level initiatives and sequential passage of the stages of specific structural changes, complex micro-shifts, institutionalization andconsolidation of new practices. In addition, the process of implementation of structural shifts from the macro- to the micro-level is traced, which consists in the changes more widely covering economic agents compared to the stage of a structural shift formation. All this constitutes a comprehensive author’s approach to the regularities of the structural shifts developmentin the economy.   Practical significance: clarification of interrelations between the processes of structural change will improve the programs of socio-economic development of regions, industrial policy for medium- and high-tech industries through the use of modern technological methods of identification and authentication of customers and employees with biometrics. It may also create a basis for deepening the existing knowledge in the development of biometric technologies in Russia and expanding the practice of their application.

Catur purusa artha: Antecedent and moderator for improving business performance

Dewa Nyoman Benni Kusyana, Putu Sri Hartati, Ida Ayu Widani Sugianingrat et al.

This research was conducted to determine the influence of organizational culture on business performance, mediated by innovation and moderated by catur purusa artha. The subjects of this research were the cooperative heads or managers of 503 cooperative units in Denpasar City. The Yamane formula was used to determine the sample size, which was determined to be 83 cooperative heads/managers using a proportionate random sampling technique. Data analysis was carried out using structural equation modelling – partial least squares (SEM-PLS). Data analysis using PLS was carried out with two measurement models, namely the outer model and the inner model. The results of the analysis prove that organizational culture has no significant effect on business performance. Innovation acts as a full mediating variable in the influence of organizational culture on business performance. Catur purusa artha has a positive and significant effect on business performance and acts as a moderator of the relationship between organizational culture and business performance. The findings of this research answer the shortcomings of the resource-based view by placing innovation, which is a dynamic capability, as a mediator and catur purusa artha as a moderator.

СТРАТЕГІЧНИЙ АСПЕКТ СОЦІАЛЬНОГО ІНВЕСТУВАННЯ В КОНТЕКСТІ РЕГІОНАЛЬНОГО РОЗВИТКУ

I. V. Zablodska, I. V. Tiazhkorob, K. I. Sieriebriak

Improving Production Flows by Integrating AOA Critical Networks

Lucia Violeta Melnic, Marian Andrei Gurău, Ruxandra Marin

The main objective of the “AOA critical networks” concept in the manufacturing flow is to support companies that want to improve their processes so that they become more competitive by implementing various tools and techniques for continuous improvement. At present, it is known that a high level of productivity can be obtained and maintained only by involving all the actors involved in the production process, and to optimize the production flow as a whole, action must be taken to increase flexibility, the means of production and therefore their reactivity. The AON critical networks method can be integrated in the analysis of production systems, especially regarding the optimization of production flows. The main object of the research is the development of an adaptive production planning system that can optimize the flow of materials, which will lead to an optimal cost of the production project.

Observation of the decay $Λ_b^0\rightarrowχ_{c1}pπ^-$

LHCb collaboration, R. Aaij, C. Abellán Beteta et al.

The Cabibbo-suppressed decay $Λ_b^0\rightarrowχ_{c1}pπ^-$ is observed for the first time using data from proton-proton collisions corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6fb$^{-1}$, collected with the LHCb detector at a centre-of-mass energy of 13TeV. Evidence for the $Λ_b^0\rightarrowχ_{c2}pπ^-$ decay is also found. Using the $Λ_b^0\rightarrowχ_{c1}pK^-$ decay as normalisation channel, the ratios of branching fractions are measured to be $$\begin{array}{rcl} \frac{ \mathcal{B} (Λ_b^0\rightarrowχ_{c1}pπ^-)}{\mathcal{B} (Λ_b^0\rightarrowχ_{c1}pK^-)} & = & (6.59 \pm 1.01 \pm 0.22 ) \times 10^{-2} \,, \frac{\mathcal{B} (Λ_b^0\rightarrowχ_{c2}pπ^-)}{\mathcal{B} (Λ_b^0\rightarrowχ_{c1}pπ^-)} & = & 0.95 \pm 0.30 \pm 0.04 \pm 0.04 \,, \frac{\mathcal{B} (Λ_b^0\rightarrowχ_{c2}pK^-)}{\mathcal{B} (Λ_b^0\rightarrowχ_{c1}pK^-)} & = & 1.06 \pm 0.05 \pm 0.04 \pm 0.04 \,,\end{array}$$ where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic and the third is due to the uncertainties in the branching fractions of $χ_{c1,2}\rightarrow J/ψγ$ decays.

First measurement of the $CP$-violating phase in $B^0_s\to J/ψ(\to e^+e^-)φ$ decays

LHCb collaboration, R. Aaij, C. Abellán Beteta et al.

A flavour-tagged time-dependent angular analysis of $B^0_s\to J/ψφ$ decays is presented where the $J/ψ$ meson is reconstructed through its decay to an $e^+e^-$ pair. The analysis uses a sample of $pp$ collision data recorded with the LHCb experiment at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb$^{-1}$. The $CP$-violating phase and lifetime parameters of the $B^0_s$ system are measured to be $φ_s=0.00\pm0.28\pm0.07$ rad, $ΔΓ_s=0.115\pm0.045\pm0.011$ ps$^{-1}$ and $Γ_s=0.608\pm0.018\pm0.012$ ps$^{-1}$ where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. This is the first time that $CP$-violating parameters are measured in the $B^0_s\to J/ψφ$ decay with an $e^+e^-$ pair in the final state. The results are consistent with previous measurements in other channels and with the Standard Model predictions.

$J/ψ$ photo-production in Pb-Pb peripheral collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}$ = 5 TeV

LHCb collaboration, R. Aaij, C. Abellán Beteta et al.

The photo-production of $J/ψ$ mesons at low transverse momentum is studied in peripheral lead-lead collisions collected by the LHCb experiment at a centre-of-mass energy per nucleon pair of 5 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 210 $\rm{μb}^{-1}$. The $J/ψ$ candidates are reconstructed through the prompt decay into two muons of opposite charge in the rapidity region of $2.0<y<4.5$. The results significantly improve previous measurements and are compared to the latest theoretical prediction.

The Malaysian Fund Managers Perspective on the Viability of Takaful Operators Investment

Amirul Afif Muhamat, Mohamad Nizam Jaafar, Norzitah Abdul Karim et al.

Takaful operators are expected by the policyholders to act beyond the role of traditional insurance companies that only offer Shariah-compliant protection services. They are expected to be commercially viable. One of the ways to be commercially viable is takaful operators must be able to invest the policyholders' funds in the profitable investment avenues. Nevertheless, the critical issue before investing the funds is to develop products that are suitable with the takaful operators' investment strategy. This study employed a questionnaire survey to gather the feedback of fund managers from 11 takaful operators in Malaysia ” all were the senior staffs of takaful operators in Malaysia were surveyed. The questionnaire is developed in the form of a Likert scale ranging from 1 to 5 as the research instrument. By Delphi technique, the draft of the questionnaire was sent to a panel of experts for review, was adopted, and their feedback reflected in the final questionnaire. The experts were a shariah advisor, a corporate finance manager, and a senior executive at the central bank. Findings indicate that policyholders' expectations on their investments are met and the products so far compatible with takaful operators' investment strategies.

Observation of a new baryon state in the $Λ_b^0π^+π^-$ mass spectrum

LHCb collaboration, R. Aaij, C. Abellán Beteta et al.

A new baryon state is observed in the $Λ_b^0π^+π^-$ mass spectrum with high significance using a data sample of $pp$ collisions, collected with the LHCb detector at centre-of-mass energies $\sqrt{s}=7, 8$ and 13TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9fb$^{-1}$. The mass and natural width of the new state are measured to be \begin{eqnarray*} m & = & 6072.3 \pm 2.9 \pm 0.6 \pm 0.2 MeV\,, Γ& = & 72 \pm 11 \pm 2 MeV\,, \end{eqnarray*} where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. The third uncertainty for the mass is due to imprecise knowledge of the $Λ_b^0$ baryon mass. The new state is consistent with the first radial excitation of the $Λ_b^0$ baryon, the $Λ_b(2S)^0$ resonance. Updated measurements of the masses and the upper limits on the natural widths of the previously observed $Λ_b(5912)^0$ and $Λ_b(5920)^0$ states are also reported.

Measurement of $CP$ observables in $B^{\pm} \to D K^{\pm}$ and $B^{\pm} \to D π^{\pm}$ with $D \to K_{\rm{S}}^0 K^\pm π^\mp$ decays

LHCb collaboration, R. Aaij, C. Abellán Beteta et al.

Measurements of $CP$ observables in $B^\pm \to D K^\pm$ and $B^\pm \to D π^\pm$ decays are presented, where $D$ represents a superposition of $D^0$ and $\bar{D}^0$ states. The $D$ meson is reconstructed in the three-body final state $K_{\rm{S}}^0K^\pm π^\mp$. The analysis uses samples of $B$ mesons produced in proton-proton collisions, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0, 2.0, and 6.0 fb$^{-1}$ collected with the LHCb detector at centre-of-mass energies of $\sqrt{s} = $ 7, 8, and 13 TeV, respectively. These measurements are the most precise to date, and provide important input for the determination of the CKM angle $γ$.

Measurement of the shape of the $B_s^0\rightarrow D_s^{*-}μ^{+}ν_μ$ differential decay rate

LHCb collaboration, R. Aaij, C. Abellán Beteta et al.

The shape of the $B_s^0\rightarrow D_s^{*-}μ^+ν_μ$ differential decay rate is obtained as a function of the hadron recoil using proton-proton collision data at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.7 fb$^{-1}$ collected by the LHCb detector. The $B_s^0\rightarrow D_s^{*-}μ^+ν_μ$ decay is reconstructed through the decays $D_s^{*-}\rightarrow D_s^{-}γ$ and $D_s^{-}\rightarrow K^-K^+π^-$. The differential decay rate is fitted with the Caprini-Lellouch-Neubert (CLN) and Boyd-Grinstein-Lebed (BGL) parametrisations of the form factors, and the relevant quantities for both are extracted.

First observation of excited $Ω_b^-$ states

LHCb collaboration, R. Aaij, C. Abellán Beteta et al.

We report four narrow peaks in the $Ξ_b^0K^-$ mass spectrum obtained using $pp$ collisions at center-of-mass energies of 7, 8 and 13 TeV, corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 9 fb$^{-1}$ recorded by the LHCb experiment. Referring to these states by their mass, the mass values are \begin{align*} m(Ω_b(6316)^-) &= 6315.64\pm0.31\pm0.07\pm0.50 {\rm MeV}, \\ m(Ω_b(6330)^-) &= 6330.30\pm0.28\pm0.07\pm0.50 {\rm MeV}, \\ m(Ω_b(6340)^-) &= 6339.71\pm0.26\pm0.05\pm0.50 {\rm MeV}, \\ m(Ω_b(6350)^-) &= 6349.88\pm0.35\pm0.05\pm0.50 {\rm MeV}, \end{align*}where the uncertainties are statistical, systematic and the last is due to the knowledge of the $Ξ_b^0$ mass. The natural widths of the three lower mass states are consistent with zero, and the 90% confidence-level upper limits are determined to be ${Γ(Ω_b(6316)^-)<2.8}$ MeV, ${Γ(Ω_b(6330)^-)<3.1}$ MeV and ${Γ(Ω_b(6340)^-)<1.5}$ MeV. The natural width of the $Ω_b(6350)^-$ peak is $1.4^{+1.0}_{-0.8}\pm0.1$ MeV, which is 2.5$σ$ from zero and corresponds to an upper limit of 2.8 MeV. The peaks have local significances ranging from 3.6$σ$ to 7.2$σ$. After accounting for the look-elsewhere effect, the significances of the $Ω_b(6316)^-$ and $Ω_b(6330)^-$ peaks are reduced to 2.1$σ$ and 2.6$σ$ respectively, while the two higher mass peaks exceed 5$σ$. The observed peaks are consistent with expectations for excited $Ω_b^-$ resonances.

Observation of new $Ξ_c^0$ baryons decaying to $Λ_c^+ K^-$

LHCb collaboration, R. Aaij, C. Abellán Beteta et al.

The $Λ_c^+K^-$ mass spectrum is studied with a data sample of $pp$ collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.6 fb$^{-1}$ collected by the LHCb experiment. Three $Ξ_c^0$ states are observed with a large significance and their masses and natural widths are measured to be \begin{eqnarray*} m(Ξ_c(2923)^0)&=& 2923.04 \pm 0.25 \pm 0.20 \pm 0.14 ~\mathrm{MeV}, Γ(Ξ_c(2923)^0) &=& 7.1 \pm 0.8 \pm 1.8 ~\mathrm{MeV}, \end{eqnarray*} \begin{eqnarray*} m(Ξ_c(2939)^0) &=& 2938.55 \pm 0.21 \pm 0.17 \pm 0.14 ~\mathrm{ MeV}, Γ(Ξ_c(2939)^0) &=& 10.2 \pm 0.8 \pm 1.1 ~\mathrm{ MeV}, \end{eqnarray*} \begin{eqnarray*} m(Ξ_c(2965)^0) &=& 2964.88 \pm 0.26 \pm 0.14 \pm 0.14~\mathrm{ MeV}, Γ(Ξ_c(2965)^0) &=& 14.1 \pm 0.9 \pm 1.3~\mathrm{ MeV}, \end{eqnarray*} where the uncertainties are statistical, systematic, and due to the limited knowledge of the $Λ_c^+$ mass. The $Ξ_c(2923)^0$ and $Ξ_c(2939)^0$ baryons are new states. The $Ξ_c(2965)^0$ state is in the vicinity of the known $Ξ_c(2970)^0$ baryon; however, their masses and natural widths differ significantly.
