The realm of construction is presently experiencing a remarkable metamorphosis, propelled by
advancements in technology, economic imperatives, and a growing insistence on sustainability. This study
examines the central themes of construction research through a bibliometric approach. The VOSviewer software
was used to identify relationships and trends between concepts such as digitalization, innovation, sustainability
and cost management. The results indicate an increasing focus on the integration of advanced technologies such
as Building Information Modeling (BIM), automation and resource management. The geographical distribution
of the research highlights the dominance of countries such as China, the United States and the United Kingdom,
alongside emerging contributions from regions such as Malaysia and Hong Kong. Nevertheless, considerable
disparities endure, particularly within rising economies. The insufficient allocation of resources towards
research and development for small and medium enterprises serves as a significant impediment to the broad
embrace of advanced technologies. The study highlights the need for an interdisciplinary approach, where
collaboration with fields such as economics, management, ecology and human resources is necessary to
maximize the potential of the industry. The study underscores the significance of bespoke public policies and
efficacious international collaborations to foster the extensive embrace of innovative technologies and
sustainable solutions.

This article presents a model for Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) tailored to the subscription-based streaming industry, incorporating both contractual dynamics and user activity. Unlike traditional CLV models that overlook contracts, this semi-Markov model captures the time users remain in specific subscription plans and the transitions between these subscription plans. Using empirical data from the MTN TV platform for a step-by-step implementation, the study identifies key factors influencing subscription cancellations, such as expiration dates and viewing behavior. The results show that longer subscriptions yield higher CLV, with more predictable churn cycles. These findings can guide marketing strategies and resource management to maximize CLV in the streaming sector.

This study aims to offer new quantitative and qualitative insights into transaction efficiency and conflict of interest among minority and controlling shareholders in related party transactions (RPTs). We utilize systematic literature review (SLR) and bibliometric techniques to analyse 218 published articles. Our analysis identifies significant contributors, publishing sources, research groups, and maps the evolution of RPT themes and their relationship to contemporary theoretical frameworks. Subsequently, we conduct a comprehensive network and content analysis. Our findings indicate that research in RPTs began evolving post-global financial crisis, particularly since 2008, with East-Asian researchers dominating the intellectual discourse. Most studies are non-collaborative and based on empirical evidence from a limited number of countries. Methodologically, many studies employ descriptive statistics or regression techniques. We identify six thematic clusters contributing to the growth narrative of RPT research. Furthermore, we identify potential avenues for future research in RPTs and corporate governance while highlighting progressive trends and dynamics within the selected themes.
This study examines the interactions between stock markets, oil prices, and security of energy supply in 25 countries with the highest energy consumption from 1980 to 2018. We utilize bi- and multi-variate models with and without smooth structural breaks. The novel Fourier expansion to the Toda-Yamamoto causality procedure highlights the importance of smooth structural shifts in model specification. The new methodology uncovers significantly stronger impact of energy security on the causal link between energy and stock markets. Our results offer new and important implications for policymakers, investors, and researchers.
The contemporary macroeconomic mainstream has faced substantial scrutiny, particularly from economists with more heterodox perspectives. They argue that its assertion of modern economies operating smoothly along an intertemporal equilibrium path lacks alignment with real-world circumstances. Historical evidence shows that such harmony is rarely the norm. However, the conventional viewpoint is open to diverse criticisms. Is it possible for the field of economics to evade its inherent ethical and moral dimensions? Within macroeconomics, there appears to be an absence of ethical grounding. This article addresses this question.
Background: The participation of female labour is essential for promoting industrialisation. North African economies are plagued by low levels of female labour force participation (FLP) and high gender inequality gaps. Low levels of FLP are detrimental to the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals, such as gender equality, decent work, and economic growth, as well as reduced inequalities.
Aim: This research aimed to establish the determinants of FLP in North Africa.
Setting: North Africa.
Method: The research adopted the Panel Auto Regressive Distributed Lag. Data were sourced from the World Bank for the period 1991–2021.
Results: The empirical findings showed that the lack of gender-sensitive policies, limited investment in education and institutional barriers limit the capacity of women to participate in the labour market. Primary research findings depicted that the Human Development Index (HDI), fertility rate and life expectancy had a positive impact on FLP in the long run. Economic growth had a positive effect on FLP in the short run.
Conclusion: It was concluded that North African governments need to develop policies that advance the interests of women, as well as the implementation of women empowerment programmes.
Contribution: The findings of the study imply that addressing FLP requires collaborative efforts from the governments and other stakeholders and this helps in reducing gender inequality.

Deming emphasizes that professional training is not only performed by organizing training sessions for staff or users. Professional training should be organized so that the employee learns how to optimally carry out an activity within the culture of the organization to which he belongs. When considering adult education, communication and participation are of paramount importance. Making and implementing the right managerial decisions are inconceivable without perfect communication between the manager and the rest of the members of the organization, and between the internal and the external environment. The promotion activity includes a wide variety of types and modes of manifestation, in terms of content, role and form of achievement. By implementing the continuous training system within the framework of the training / education / public organizations, it is possible to develop a human resource training plan with the use of minimal (time and personnel) resources, carry out an evaluation of the economic, financial and social results of the training programs, and to have permanent control of the established budget, so that it can be a valuable tool for the management of the Romanian organizations.

The purpose of the paper is an attempt to assess the impact of the length of maternity leave as the basis for the payment of maternity allowance under social insurance and its statutory pay on the professional activity of women. The paper evaluates the relationship between the length of maternity leave and related payments of maternity allowance and the employment rate, and also tries to indicate whether extending maternity leave may limit women's employment. The paper describes the professional activity of women, and the level of expenditure on childcare related benefits in Poland and in selected European Union countries. Based on statistical data, an attempt was made to assess the impact of maternity benefits on the economic activity of women based on the linear regression method. Some parts of the author's own surveys from 2013-2020 were also presented. They suggest that extending maternity leave may discourage employers from taking on women and, consequently, lead to their withdrawal from the labour market.(original abstract)

The emergence of some critical incidents of economic, biological type-crises, armed conflicts, natural cataclysms can affect significantly the activity of the human society. The article aims at analyzing the behavior of the Romanian consumer in the context of COVID-19 emergence. The performed research has highlighted the particularities of the emergence of this sanitary crisis at the local economy level. Although the Romanian population’s infection degree has been more reduced as compared to the Western states, the strict prevention measures imposed by the authorities have determined a model of behavior of the consumer close to the one of other states affected by the infection with the new coronavirus, SARS-CoV2. The market studies performed by specialized companies have shown that imposing home isolation conditions, due to the emergency state, has significantly reduced the social activities of the Romanian consumer, the actions being oriented mainly towards covering the basic necessities. The health of the consumers (purchase of medicines or visit to the physician), procuring food or financial activities at the banking units are the main motivations for leaving the residence. By comparison, the sports activities or the visits for supporting family members have the lowest weight. A segment of consumers, advocate of traditional commerce, has been forced to appeal to modern trade methods based on online shopping, and the specialists’ estimations provide the maintenance of the trade behavior. Companies will have to focus on understanding the consumer’s needs and to adapt their product offer and distribution system so that to reduce the new consumption limits and to facilitate the sales act. The main orientation during the crisis towards the local products can represent an opportunity for the Romanian companies, but Government support measures are necessary for the Romanian producers.
