Consistent sampling of Paley-Wiener functions on graphons

Hartmut Führ, Mahya Ghandehari

We study sampling methods for Paley-Wiener functions on graphons, thereby adapting and generalizing methods initially developed for graphs to the graphon setting. We then derive conditions under which such a sampling estimate is consistent with graphon convergence.

Recent Advances in Real-Time Models for UWB Transmission Systems

Pierluigi Poggiolini, Yanchao Jiang

Ultrafast accurate physical layer models are essential for designing, optimizing and managing ultrawideband optical transmission systems. We present a closed-form GN/EGN model based on a recent analytical breakthrough, improving reliability, accuracy and generality.

CFM6, a closed-form NLI EGN model supporting multiband transmission with arbitrary Raman amplification

Yanchao Jiang, Pierluigi Poggiolini

We formulated a closed-form EGN model for nonlinear interference in ultra-wideband optical systems with arbitrary Raman amplification. This model enhanced the CISCO-POLITO-CFM5 performance by introducing a novel contribution attributed to the backward Raman amplification. It can handle the frequency-dependent fiber parameters and inter-channel stimulated Raman scattering.

Research aim : This study aims to test the Quality of Moodle Borneo E-Learning (BEL) which includes Service Quality, Student Quality and Lecturer Quality on Perceived Satisfaction, Perceived Usefulness and Benefits based on the E-learning System Success Evaluating Model for active BEL users
Design/Methode/Approach : This research uses a quantitative approach with non-probability sampling method and the technique used is Quota Sampling. To determine the number of samples, the hair formula was used which determined that the sample consisted of 280 University of Borneo students who had used BEL. The data analysis method used is SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) with the help of the SmartPLS program.
Research Finding : The results showed that the variables of Service Quality, Student Quality and Lecturer Quality had a positive and significant effect on satisfaction and usability. And the Satisfaction and Usefulness Variables also have a positive and significant effect on benefits.
Theoretical contribution/Originality : It is hoped that this research can provide insight and knowledge as well as provide information to researchers and academics regarding the analysis of the quality of BEL application service quality using the EESS model.
Practitionel/Policy implication : The results of this study are used as input for the Borneo Tarakan University's LP3M, so that in the future it can improve the quality and quality of BEL so that in the future students will be more comfortable doing online learning with BEL.
Research limitation : In this study it only focuses on evaluating the quality of using the BEL application but only looks at it from the perspective of students at the University of Borneo Tarakan. And also focuses on the EESS conceptual model which includes only social factors, namely Service Quality, Learner Quality, Instructor Quality.

How the Moon Impacts Subsea Communication Cables

Lothar Moeller

We report tidal-induced latency variations on a transpacific subsea cable. Week-long recordings with a precision phase meter suggest length changes in the sub-meter range caused by the Poisson effect. The described method adds to the toolbox for the new field >>optical oceanic seismology<<.

Analysis and Calibration of SAR ADC

Harshit Roy

This paper presents the effect of capacitor mismatch on the weights of binary and split SAR ADC. It proposes a matrix formulation to calculate the nodal voltages for N-section split SAR ADC. The second part of the paper proposes a new weight estimation methodology.

An Exploratory Method for Smooth/Transient Decomposition

Ilker Bayram

We consider a separation problem where the observation consists of the sum of a high amplitude smooth signal and a low amplitude transient signal. We propose a method for decomposition that relies on solving instances of a `constrained filtering problem', which is posed as a convex minimization problem. We provide a fast algorithm for solving the minimization problem, and demonstrate the effectiveness of the scheme for a vital signs monitoring experiment using radar.

Gesture recognition with 60GHz 802.11 waveforms

Eran Hof, Amichai Sanderovich, Evyatar Hemo

Gesture recognition application over 802.11 ad/y waveforms is developed. Simultaneous gestures of slider-control and two-finger gesture for switching are detected based on Golay sequences of channel estimation fields of the packets.

Stokes Vector Spectroscopy of Nonlinear Depolarized Light

Lothar Moeller

Experimental Stokes vector spectroscopy characterizes polarization state noise in nonlinear fiber transmission. Noise bandwidths of a few MHz are observed from XPM-blurred receive SOPs using a polarization scrambling interferometer. This method can detect data pattern correlations among WDM channels that contribute to performance degradations in signalling.
