Un nuovo Rover per il monitoraggio e campionamento delle acque
Manuel Greco
We want to highlight the amphibious characteristics of the MAR vehicle (Multipurpose Amphibious Rover) through a deep analysis of its components and relating potentiality. MAR, thanks to its high versatility, can be used in several environments as platform both monitoring that carrying payloads such as sensors and electronic devices. It is particularly stable when moving on land, shallow water, snow and, therefore, in all those environments defined as “borderline” due to its low center of gravity. A
key element of this vehicle is the polyethylene with which the external wheels are made allowing the rover to be very
light. This feature would avoid damaging the marine flora and any submerged archaeological remains.

Study of changes in land cover categories in Ukraine based on remote sensing data
L. Ren
Land cover change has been a hot area of research on global ecological change and sustainable development due to its importance in global ecological change. Understanding land cover change trends is the basis for rational planning and management of land resources and is of important value for achieving land protection and sustainable development. Land transfer matrix has great value in the research of land cover change, its results are not disturbed by the land cover category and quantity, and the data can be analyzed in different time periods according to the demand. However, the land transfer matrix produced by traditional methods has the problems of long production period and certain requirements for hardware performance. In this paper uses Google Earth Engine to obtain the public land cover dataset of Ukraine and uses raster calculation to quickly construct the land transfer matrix. The matrix data show that the land cover change in Ukraine from 2000-2015 is modest, with a total change of 2.244%. The proportion of cropland decreased and the proportion of Urban and Built-up Lands increased. The results show that the methods can quickly and effectively obtain data on land cover change in the study area and provide assistance in analyzing trends and patterns of land cover change.

Beyond land use mix, walkable trips. An approach based on parcel-level land use data and network analysis
José Carpio-Pinedo, M. Benito-Moreno, Patxi J. Lamíquiz-Daudén
ABSTRACT Land use mix is one of the cornerstones for urban sustainability, in opposition to functional segregation and zoning policies. Land use mix is a prerequisite for urban proximity dynamics, healthier lifestyles and public space vitality. However, methodological shortcomings to its measurement remain and are responsible for the unexpected weak association with pedestrian activity. This study puts forward a novel method to reframe, measure and map land use mix as ‘walkable trips’, a closer approach to its benefits based on functional and spatial complementarity. The method draws on newly available cadastral microdata at the parcel-level that, combined with trip generation rates and network analysis tools, enable a detailed assessment and mapping of potential for walkable trips, as well as a proxy to the spatial patterns of urban vitality, in line with the principle of the 15-minute city. The method is applied to the case of the Madrid metropolitan area.
POTATOES, ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND OTHER AMENITIES: PLAYING WITH COLORS ON PANCHROMATIC AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHS
Gianluca Cantoro
Historical photographs, whether taken from the air or from the ground, are usually synonyms
of grayscale or sepia prints. From the very beginning of photography, during the first
half of 19th century, people were amazed by this new media that could record all aspects
of a scene with great detail. Soon though, everybody started wondering why would such
an impressive innovation fail to record colors? A process of trials and errors then started
(including the most successful and pioneer one, involving the use of potato starch, by Lumière
brothers) aiming to add colors to photographs, till the consolidation of new systems
(camera and film) capable to collect photographs directly in color. In the past, before and
during this innovative approach, native black and white photographs were painted in the
effort to give them life. Today, only few methods are available to convert a panchromatic
image into a color one, and they need a number of steps and further development to work
properly. The paper tries to present different methods to colorize native black and white
photographs, based on available automatic or interactive Artificial Intelligence (Machine
Learning or Deep Learning) algorithms, on revised remote sensing procedures and on
visual tricks, aiming at exploring the possible improvement in readability and interpretation
of photographed contests in the usual analytic process of photo-interpretation. At the
same time, colorized historical photographs hold different appeal in the general public
and have the potential to attract and involve non-experts in the archaeological/historical
reconstruction phases.

Classification of multitemporal Sentinel-2 data for field-level monitoring of rice cropping practices in Taiwan
N. Son, Chi-Farn Chen, Cheng-Ru Chen
et al.
Abstract Cadastral information of rice fields is important for monitoring cropping practices in Taiwan due to official initiatives. Remote sensing based rice monitoring has been a challenge for years because the size of rice fields is small, and crop mapping requires information of crop phenology, relating to spatiotemporal resolution of satellite data. This study aims to develop an approach for mapping rice-growing areas at field level using multi-temporal Sentinel-2 data in Taiwan. The data were processed for 2018, following four main steps: (1) construct time-series Enhanced Vegetation Index (EVI) and Land Surface Water Index (LSWI), (2) noise filtering of the time-series data using wavelet transform, (3) rice crop classification using information of crop phenology, and (4) parcel-based accuracy assessment of the mapping results. The parcel-to-parcel comparisons between mapping results and ground reference data indicated satisfactory results. These findings were confirmed by close agreement between satellite-derived rice area and government’s statistics. Although some factors, including mixed-pixel issues and cloud-cover effects, lowered the mapping accuracies of townships along the coastline, this study has demonstrated the efficacy of using multitemporal Sentinel-2 data to create a reliable database of rice-growing areas over a large and heterogeneous region. Such a quantitative information was important for updating rice crop maps and monitoring cropping practices.

ANALYSIS OF THE OIL AND PETROLEUM MARKET IN UKRAINE
V. Vashchenko
Today, the issues of oil and petroleum products are very important
both in the theoretical and practical aspects. Of particular importance is the issue of
completeness and compliance with the current market conditions of the existing in
Ukraine order of formation of prices for petroleum domestic production.
The article analyzes the current state of the oil market in Ukraine. The
dynamics of average prices for petroleum products in Ukraine is investigated. The
dynamics of prices for petroleum products in Europe is analyzed. The tendencies of
oil extraction in Ukraine are investigated and their steady decline in recent years has
been determined.
As a result of the analysis of the national market of crude oil, it was determined
that: the tendency of crude oil trade in the Ukrainian market has been caused by the
reduction of oil processing volumes, which, in turn, is caused by the exclusion from
the domestic market of domestic fuel imports; the main reason for the unsatisfactory
competitiveness of domestic motor fuel is its quality, which does not meet the
requirements of modern standards and the price not corresponding to it; low quality
motor fuel of domestic production is determined by the prevailing use for its
production of low-quality (high-sulfur) import (Russian) oil; in general, the
competitiveness of the domestic oil refining industry is considered low.
QUESTIONS OF THE ACTUALIZATION ECONOMIC EVALUATION OF LANDS
Kovalyshyn O.F., Malakhova S.O., Ryzhok Z.R.
The necessity of actualization in the modern economic conditions of economic indicators of economic land valuation is substantiated, obtained in accordance with the method of its conducting in 1988. Research materials are indicators of economic land evaluation, which we propose to clarify on the basis of actual statistical data, to investigate the connection between the obtained indicators and the points of economic land valuation and to propose new points with the help of regression analysis in the system Statistica. The remnants of the constructed economic-mathematical model of correlation-regression analysis the indicators of economic land valuation reflecting the real results of production of grain and leguminous crops by agricultural enterprises in the region are clarified. The resulting scores should be used to meet the challenges of growing crops planning and an efficient use of land resources.

Marco Lisi
