EXPLORING CONSUMER INTENTION FOR FUNCTIONAL FOOD PRODUCTS IN HUNGARY: THE ROLE OF HEALTH CONSCIOUSNESS, NUTRITIONAL KNOWLEDGE AND ATTITUDES

Abrar Ghaith

Background: The potential health advantages of functional food products have increased their appeal. Their reception and implementation are greatly influenced by consumer attitudes and purchasing intentions. The Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) is used in this study to examine how attitudes toward and intentions to buy functional food products in Hungary are influenced by health consciousness (HC) and nutritional knowledge (KN). Methods: From March to May 2023, 396 adult Hungarian volunteers took part in an online survey. The poll measured respondents' intentions to buy functional food products as well as their health consciousness, nutritional knowledge, attitudes, and subjective norms (SN). Through pilot research, the questionnaire's reliability and validity were determined. Multiple regression analyses, one-sample t-tests, and Cronbach's alpha were all included in the statistical analysis. Results: The majority of participants were female, working students. In support of hypotheses H1 and H2, health consciousness significantly influenced attitudes and purchase intentions. H3 and H4 are supported by the findings that nutritional knowledge strongly influenced attitudes and purchase intentions. Both perceived behavioral control and subjective standards had a beneficial impact on purchase intentions supporting H5 and H6. Conclusion: This study provides important insights into Hungarian consumers' preferences for functional food items. It highlights the beneficial effects of health awareness, information, attitudes, arbitrary standards, and perceived behavioral control on buying intentions. It was discovered that attitudes play an important role in mediating the link between nutritional knowledge, health consciousness, and purchase intentions. It was discovered that attitudes play an important role in mediating the link between nutritional knowledge, health consciousness, and purchasing intentions. The dynamic functional food market's marketers and legislators should take these findings seriously. The subtleties of these attitudes and their implications for promotional tactics can be explored in greater detail in future research. Promoting healthier food options and informing policy and marketing decisions require an understanding of consumer perceptions and behaviors.

Nuevos palacios

Tatiana Rimbaud

Community Self-Organisation in Neighbourhood Parks in Perumnas Mojosongo, Surakarta

Muhammad Nur Fajri, Wisnu Pradoto

This research examines the involvement of the community in creating and managing neighbourhood parks in Perumnas Mojosongo residential area, Surakarta, Indonesia, with the risk of transgression. The neighbourhood parks were undeveloped until residents intervened in these government land without legal permission. This research aims to explore the motives for intervening in these sites and the processes that drive the success of self-organised actions by local residents. It expands on previous studies by examining a different setting: spaces intended for public facilities in a planned residential area. The research began with a quantitative strand to select two sites that function properly as neighbourhood parks as the cases. The selection phase analysed the characteristics of the neighbourhood parks using frequency statistics by assessing the sites' condition from participant observation and official documents. Then, a multiple case study utilised semi-structured interviews to retrieve experiences from 16 key informants, residents with first-hand experiences regarding both parks’ development. The research concludes that residents' proximity to government-owned land motivates them to initiate park development, even on a small scale, when the government neglects the land. However, the legitimacy of their actions is only quasi-legitimate, as they lack formal permission from the government to utilise the land. Instead, their actions are supported by verbal permission, the perception of dispute resolution as a permit, or even the assumption of government funding as a form of approval. Social recognition from neighbourhood associations becomes a determinant of the safety of their actions.

Ransomware: a comprehensive study of the exponentially increasing cybersecurity threat

Attila Máté Kovács

Ransomware threats and incidents have exponentially increased causing both financial and reputational losses to organizations of all sizes and sectors. Ransomware attacks became the talk of the news when the world was hit by COVID 19 pandemic and people shifted to remote work in large numbers (Brynjolfsson et al., 2020, p. 13-14). Cybercriminals and threat groups are using various types of social engineering techniques such as email phishing, smishing, spear phishing attacks to spread ransomware infections in systems and networks. To protect organizations, users, and IT infrastructures it is important to understand how ransomware works, and how various threat actors use it to exfiltrate confidential data and information. Hence a critical approach toward ransomware infection and its mitigation by using different techniques is discussed and analyzed in this research paper concerning other scholarly articles and papers.

Social Responsibility of Business to Internal Stakeholders During the Pandemic

Evgeny Ya. Vittenberg

The article is devoted to the analysis of the social responsibility of Russian business to internal stakeholders in the force majeure paradigm of the coronavirus pandemic. The article shows how the domestic business was socially responsible in preserving its enterprises and jobs, in maintaining the level of remuneration of employees. In addition, the article analyzes the level of social responsibility of business (SOB) and in a number of new areas that emerged during the pandemic, namely: responsibility for ensuring epidemiological safety in the workplace, for vaccination of employees, for the organization of remote workplaces, for the application of new managerial solutions in online working conditions, for maintaining a favorable working environment. climate change in the absence of the possibility of employees working face-to-face, etc. Noting that business as a whole has shown and is showing social responsibility to internal stakeholders during the pandemic, the author notes that in some aspects it is clearly insufficient. Thus, the efforts of business to retain highly qualified personnel, maintain the level of remuneration, to bridge the wage gap between managers and employees, to agitate employees for vaccination, etc. were insufficient.

Redimensionando a contribuição de Roberto Simonsen à controvérsia do planejamento (1944-1945)

Luiz Felipe Bruzzi Curi, Alexandre Mendes Cunha

Challenges and potentials in using alternative landscape futures during climate change: A literature review and survey study

Amin Rastandeh

This study focuses on the feasibility of applying alternative futures and scenario analysis in landscape planning during climate change to provide a wider perspective and deeper understanding of this approach for better use and more effective application in the future. The study consists of a literature review and an analysis of recent applied projects carried out worldwide. In addition, an electronic survey was conducted from March to September 2014 to examine viewpoints on the use and application of this approach with reference to climate-change impacts. The survey participants were a group of highly experienced researchers from eighteen countries involved in at least one applied project since 2000 relating to this topic. After analysis of more than forty applied projects, the survey results were incorporated into the analysis to create a comprehensive picture regarding the potentials and limitations of alternative futures and scenario analysis in landscape planning with particular attention to climate change. The findings show that this method is one of the most effective decision-making approaches for adopting landscape policies where landscapes change rapidly under the pressure of urbanisation and climate change. Nevertheless, there is a gap between the advances offered by the approach in various dimensions and the complexity of patterns, uncertainties and upheavals in landscapes due to climate-change impacts in the urbanising world. The research indicates that the approach opens up a great opportunity for decision-makers to expand their perspective and adopt appropriate landscape policies before reaching a point of no return from the sustainability point of view. Meanwhile, there are challenges and barriers in the application of alternative futures and scenario analysis for envisioning the landscapes influenced by climate change and urbanisation that should be pushed back. Although informative, this research raises new questions about this approach and its applications in the future, providing a basis for further research.

Relationship between the qualification and labour market situation of disabled workers in Hungary

Nóra Nagymáté

My PhD research focuses on special rehabilitation firms (they are specialised to employ disabled people) and their employees. Two questionnaires for the above mentioned firms and their employees were created in order to gather information on their activities as well as to explore the relationship between the firms and their employees. Altogether 1030 employees and 109 employers filled in the questionnaires. The current study shows the results of this survey. It can be stated that this paper shows the risk of finding a workplace after a certain time period. According to the latest trends I analyse the labour market situation of people living with disabilities with survival analysis. The survival analysis is able to manage partial information, as well. After summarizing all claims of participants we can make an impression in this area and demonstrate the problems for the labour market generally. I use the Log-rank, Breslow and Tahane-Ware probe.

The Missing Organizational Dimension in Urban Sociology

Michael McQuarrie, Nicole P. Marwell

Our article takes issue with the treatment of organizations in much urban sociology. We argue that both Marxian political economists and Chicagoan ethnographers and quantitative analysts treat organizations as derivative rather than productive of urban social relations. This problem is not epistemological or methodological. Instead, it is rooted in the objects of analysis that urban sociologists choose. Drawing on key elements of structuration theory, we attempt to lay the groundwork for improving the treatment of organizations in urban sociology by flagging some of the key insights in the sociology of organizations. We do not view this intellectual borrowing as a one–way street, and we emphasize that urbanists have a contribution to make to sociological thinking about organizations. Correcting these problems is essential if we are to understand the link between contemporary institutional transformations and urban neighborhoods.
