Mineralogy and Geochemistry of Anah and Euphrates Formations and Their Suitability for Portland Cement and Noora Industry at Al-Baghdadi and Haditha Areas, Western Iraq
Sufyan Alrawi, Lafta Kadhim, Abdulhameed Al-Hadaithy
The current study including geochemical and mineralogical aspects of 12 rock samples from Anah and Euphrates formations in two outcrops, The first outcrop is at Haditha city, with 12.5 meters thickness, and the second location is at Al-Baghdadi city, with 21 meters thickness. The mineralogical study by X-ray diffraction indicated that calcite is the main mineral in the rocks of Anah Formation, while calcite and dolomite exist in Euphrates Formation, where calcite is concentrated in the lower part of Euphrates Formation, while dolomite is common in the middle and upper parts of this formation, in addition to other minor minerals such as quartz and feldspar. Geochemical study was carried out by XRF to determine the major oxides(CaO, MgO, Fe2O3, Al2O3, SiO2, SO3, K2O, Na2O, MnO) and the suitability of Anah and Euphrates rocks as raw material for Portland cement and Al-Noura (lime) cement industries. According to the results it is found that Euphrates Formation in the Al-Baghdadi and Haditha outcrops is not suitable for the Portland cement, because of high percentage of MgO as a result of the high percentage of dolomitic limestone. The chemical analysis of the samples of the Anah Formation in Haditha outcrop are suitable for the Noura cement (lime) industry according to the Iraqi standard. The high content of magnesium in the Euphrates Formation at Al-Baghdadi area used as indicator that the rocks deposited in shallow marine and warm condition, and the environment was mostly isolated with warm condition. Low Sr content indicates shallow carbonate rocks. Thus, the sedimentary environment of the Anah Formation at Haditha outcrop was relatively shallower than that of the Euphrates Formation.
Middle-power internationalism in-between European ‘paradise’ and American ‘power’? Canada’s political role in an age of Trumpism and Brexit
Benjamin Zyla
Hyper forms of globalization have contributed to the diffusion and de-institutionalization of state power (Chin and Mittelman, 1997) and to growing populism, nationalism, and authoritarianism in Europe that
have questioned the liberal international order’s effectiveness, legitimacy and authority. What has come under threat is not only the order itself, but the economic prosperity, security, peace, and normative foundations that has nurtured it. In this context of a emerging world order we examine what function so-called middle powers on both sides of the Atlantic could play?
While often overseen in recent years, middle powers are important units of analysis to study because during the times of the ‘old’ order in the aftermath of WWII they had benefitted most of the stable liberal international order, and as a result they have the most to lose today in case that order changes dramatically or even disappears. In looking back at middle power’s presence at creation of the liberal international world order in the aftermath of WWII, we suggest, helps us to comprehend what function middle powers could play in this current wave of changing transatlantic orders. Especially their intraalliance bridgebuilding function is important in this regard that in the past helped to balance the interests of the major powers. Canada is discussed as a case study.

EU CITIZENSHIP AND IDENTITY
Valeriu DECIU
Is there a possibility to harmonize the EU policy concerning migration since many people feel threatened in their most prized personal security, their national and European identity? Most probably not for the moment. Is it possible to mitigate the general anxiety so that European peoples can build confidence over time concerning newcomers? Some believe it is possible. One way would be a strong political will to enforce jus soli over jus sanguini, in several stages. As a first stage, we may consider a precursory statute to citizenship, a temporary and conditional one, to whom we should gradually attach rights depending on individual merits achieved in time and which may eventually lead to obtaining the full citizenship statute. Through the agency of this statute, we can build a legitimate framework for gradual integration, based on clear norms and criteria, allowing the migrant to gain access to fundamental rights. Whether such frame protects the migrant from institutional violence or not depends on how he or she is finally perceived by the local community. Before that, we should discuss the migrant’s statute as well as the right to settle in EU, achieve rights and obligations in direct ratio with his new statute. The aim of this article is to identify how social identity is formed for the new migrants by reference to their ethnical roots and identity markers of the host nation from EU, while its purpose is to propose a way to convert this newly acquired identity into a limited and conditional citizenship.

Thrombocytopenia as a Preoperative Risk Assessment Tool in Patients With Rheumatic Heart Disease Undergoing Valve Replacement Surgery
Xue‐biao Wei, Lei Jiang, Yuan‐hui Liu
et al.
BackgroundPostoperative thrombocytopenia has been reported to be correlated with adverse events, but the prognostic value of baseline thrombocytopenia is unclear. This study was undertaken to evaluate the relationship between preoperative thrombocytopenia and adverse outcomes in patients with rheumatic heart disease who underwent valve replacement surgery. Methods and ResultsA total of 1789 patients with rheumatic heart disease undergoing valve replacement surgery were consecutively enrolled and postoperatively followed up for 1 year. Patients were stratified on the basis of presence (n=495) or absence (n=1294) of thrombocytopenia (platelet count, <150×109/L), according to hospital admission platelet counts. During the hospitalization period, 69 patients (3.9%) died. The in‐hospital all‐cause mortality rate was significantly higher in the thrombocytopenic group (6.9% versus 2.7%; P<0.001). Multivariate analyses revealed that thrombocytopenia was independently associated with in‐hospital all‐cause mortality (odds ratio, 2.21; 95% confidence interval, 1.29–3.80; P=0.004). Platelet counts could predict in‐hospital all‐cause mortality for patients both with and without previous atrial fibrillation (areas under the curve, 0.708 [P<0.001] and 0.610 [P=0.025], respectively). One‐year survival was significantly lower in patients with thrombocytopenia compared with controls (91.3% versus 96.1%; log‐rank=14.65; P<0.001). In addition, thrombocytopenia was an independent predictor for postoperative 1‐year all‐cause mortality in multivariate Cox regression analysis. ConclusionsPlatelet counts, as simple and inexpensive indexes, were reliable to be used as a preoperative risk assessment tool for patients with rheumatic heart disease undergoing valve replacement surgery.

EUROPEAN ECONOMY VS THE TRAP OF THE EUROPE 2020 STRATEGY
Romeo-Victor IONESCU
The paper deals to the analysis of Europe 2020 Strategy goals’ viability under the new global socio-economic context. These goals are analyzed using comparative analysis, regression and a cluster approach. A distinct part of the analysis is focused on forecasting procedures. The first conclusion of the paper is that the disparities between Member States are too high to allow achieving the Strategy’s goals until 2020. Moreover, these disparities will maintain or will increase in 2020. A t least two clusters can be built using the Member States’ performances. The whole analysis and its conclusions are supported by the latest official statistic data, pertinent tables and diagrams.

Anthrenus (Florilinus) loebli n. sp. (Coleoptera, Dermestidae, Anthrenini) from the Middle East
Kadej, M., Háva, J.
A new species Anthrenus (Florilinus) loebli from Israel, Lebanon and Jordania is described, illustrated and compared with the similar species classified within the subgenus Florilinus Mulsant & Rey, 1868. The new species is characterized by oval eyes, eight-segmented antenna and subtriangular, occasionally triangular, scales on the dorsum. The yellowish/light brown scales are present on the anterior and terminal part of the elytra and create three irregular, transverse bands. Antennal segment eight are at least 4.8 to 5x longer than segment 7 in male, 2.1x longer in female. The new species is most similar to A. (F.) museorum (Linnaeus, 1761); A. (H.) fuscus Olivier, 1789 and A. (F.) flavidus Solsky, 1876. An identification key to externally similar species of the genus is given. The most distinctive taxonomic characteristics concern the male genitalia and antenna (in ratio of length of segments of antennal club) and are also described.
Sustainable development of the rural economy
Sándor Magda, Róbert Magda , Sándor Marselek
This paper seeks to provide an overview of those economic social and enviromental issues which could be relevant for sustainable development of the rural economy. Rural development is of great significance for the future of both the EU and Hungary. We must reduce migration, create new jobs and focus on sustainability and the principles and goals of environmental protection and nature conservation. Rural economy is a complex and dynamic system, and agriculture should be treated as a part of it.The development of rural settlements and their infrastructure, the manifold exploitation of the agroecological potential, the rationalization of farming remain, extremely important components of rural development.

In the second half of the fifties, the Franco dictatorship was going through a period of crisis given the gravity of the socioeconomic situation that the country was facing. It is in this context that the Spanish Communist Party decided to call mobilization day against dictatorship, which he called National Reconciliation Day, for the 5th of May 1958. Although it was preceded by a period of strong social protest, the results of it were very modest. In this event influenced the isolation itself in which the Communists were inside the anti-Franco opposition, as the fear of repression. While the Franco´s regime would continue receiving the support of political institutions and social groups on which was laid down as well as their external supports, which would enable it to impose its own solutions and survive until the dictator’s death.

Use of Rat Estrus Serum for in Vitro Maturation of Bovine Oocytes
AR Rafati, A Behahaddini, S Hashemi
et al.
Introduction: Superovulation produces complications in some patients, so invitro maturation of oocytes is used to decrease or eliminate these complications and improve IVF. Moreover, IVM is used for different aspects of reproductive researches. Slaughterhouse ovaries are the main source of oocytes for IVM and IVF studies. Different media has been introduced and experimented for in vitro maturation of oocytes. Animal's serum at estrus stage contains different hormones and proteins which are essential for oocyte maturation. The aim of this study was to compare three culture media for in vitro maturation (IVM) of bovine oocytes; 1)(control)TCM-199, 2)HCG and follicular fluid (FF) and 3) antibiotic. Methods: Rat estrus serum (RSS) or fetal bovine serum (FBS) was added to control medium. Total of 1789 compact cumulus oocyte complexes (COCs) were aspirated from ovaries of slaughtered animals. Oocytes were randomly cultured in mentioned media and incubated in 38.5◦c, 5% CO2 and 95% humidity for 24 hours. The maturation of oocytes was judged according to cumulus cell expansion or randomly orcein stained oocytes and observation of polar bodies. Results: The results showed that maturation rate was significantly higher in second and third group (90.2%, 78.7%) as compared to the control group (p<0.001). There was no significant difference between second and third groups (90.2 % vs. 86.6%). Conclusion: RSS is as effective as FBS for IVM of bovine oocytes and can be used as an alternative.
