LHCb collaboration, R. Aaij, A. S. W. Abdelmotteleb et al.

This paper presents a study of the charmless three-body decays ${B^0_{(s)} \to K_{\mathrm{S}}^0 h^+ h^{\prime -}}$ (where $h^{(\prime)} = π, K$), using a sample of $pp$ collision data collected by the LHCb experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $9\mbox{\,fb}^{-1}$. The decay ${B^0_s \to K_{\mathrm{S}}^0 K^+ K^-}$ is observed for the first time, and the following ratios of branching fractions are measured: \begin{alignat*}{6} &\frac{{\cal B}(B^0 \to K^0_{\mathrm{S}} K^+ K^-)}{{\cal B}(B^0 \to K^0_{\mathrm{S}} π^+π^-)} &&= 0.578 &&\pm 0.007 &&\pm 0.017\,, &\frac{{\cal B}(B^0 \to K^0_{\mathrm{S}} K^\pmπ^\mp)}{{\cal B}(B^0 \to K^0_{\mathrm{S}} π^+π^-)} &&= 0.1363 &&\pm 0.0035 &&\pm 0.0051\,, &\frac{{\cal B}(B^0_s \to K^0_{\mathrm{S}} π^+π^-)}{{\cal B}(B^0 \to K^0_{\mathrm{S}} π^+π^-)} &&= 0.269 &&\pm 0.011 &&\pm 0.015 && \pm 0.008\,, &\frac{{\cal B}(B^0_s \to K^0_{\mathrm{S}} K^+ K^-)}{{\cal B}(B^0 \to K^0_{\mathrm{S}} π^+π^-)} &&= 0.0303 &&\pm 0.0041 &&\pm 0.0025 && \pm 0.0009\,, &\frac{{\cal B}(B^0_s \to K^0_{\mathrm{S}} K^\pmπ^\mp)}{{\cal B}(B^0 \to K^0_{\mathrm{S}} π^+π^-)} &&= 1.818 &&\pm 0.021 &&\pm 0.031 && \pm 0.056\,, \end{alignat*} where the uncertainties are statistical, systematic, and due to knowledge of the ratio of hadronisation fractions of the $B^0_s$ and $B^0$ mesons, respectively.

Advertising types cross-network effects on two sided platforms

Veronika A. Khlyupina, Svetlana V. Golovanova, Eduardo Pontual Ribeiro

Broadcast TV is a well-known example of a two-sided platform where cross network effects on the viewer and advertising sides interact. Like many platforms, it is advertiser-financed. While the literature shows that viewers dislike advertising, we explore a unique data set and distinguish between paid and non-paid (informative) ads. Cross-network effects’ estimates show that the latter carry a positive network effect on viewership. We also explore a significant change in public interest for more information in TV content in Russia in 2022 to estimate structural changes to cross-network effects. The results indicate that negative paid ads’ cross-network effects on viewership demand become stronger while positive non-paid (information) ads cross-network effects become weaker, even conditional on TV programing changes. Symmetrically, on the other side of the platform, advertisers value viewership less after the preference change.

Search for resonances decaying to photon pairs with masses between 4.9 and 19.4 GeV

LHCb collaboration, R. Aaij, A. S. W. Abdelmotteleb et al.

A search is presented for axion-like particles (ALPs) with masses between 4.9 and 19.4 GeV decaying to a pair of photons, using proton-proton collisions collected with the LHCb detector during 2018 at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.1 fb$^{-1}$. The same strategy and sample is used to search for the decays of the $B^0_s$, $B^0$ and $η_b$ mesons into photon pairs. No significant excess is found. Upper limits on the photon-pair branching fraction times the cross-section of ALP production are determined as a function of the ALP mass. Limits on the branching fractions of the beauty states are determined to be $\mathcal{B}(B^0_s\toγγ)<2.7\times10^{-5}$, $\mathcal{B}(B^0\toγγ)<0.83\times10^{-5}$, and $ σ(pp\toη_b X)\times\mathcal{B}(η_b\toγγ)<765\,\text{pb}$ at 95 % confidence level.

Measurement of the $Ω_c^0$ and $Ξ_c^0$ baryon lifetimes using hadronic $b$-baryon decays

LHCb collaboration, R. Aaij, A. S. W. Abdelmotteleb et al.

The lifetimes of the $Ω_c^0$ and $Ξ_c^0$ baryons are measured using a $pp$ collision dataset collected by the LHCb experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $9~\rm{fb^{-1}}$. The charm baryons are produced in the fully reconstructed decay chains $Ω_b^- \rightarrow Ω_c^0 (\rightarrow pK^-K^-π^+)~π^-$ and $Ξ_b^- \rightarrow Ξ_c^0 (\rightarrow pK^-K^-π^+)~π^-$. The measurement uses topologically and kinematically similar $B^- \rightarrow D^0(\rightarrow K^-K^+π^-π^+)~π^-$ decays for normalisation. The measured lifetimes are $τ_{Ω_c^0} = 276.3 \pm 19.4~\rm{(stat)} \pm 1.8~\rm{(syst)} \pm 0.7~(τ_{D^0})~\rm{fs}$, $τ_{Ξ_c^0} = 149.2 \pm ~\,2.5~\rm{(stat)} \pm 0.9~\rm{(syst)} \pm 0.4~(τ_{D^0})~\rm{fs}$, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second systematic and the third due to the uncertainty of the $D^0$ lifetime. These results are consistent with previous measurements performed by the LHCb experiment.

Measurement of $CP$ asymmetry in $B_s^0 \to D_s^{\mp} K^{\pm}$ decays

LHCb collaboration, R. Aaij, A. S. W. Abdelmotteleb et al.

A measurement of the $CP$-violating parameters in $B_s^0 \to D_s^{\mp} K^{\pm}$ decays is reported, based on the analysis of proton-proton collision data collected by the LHCb experiment corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $6\,\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ at a centre-of-mass energy of $13 \,\mathrm{TeV}$. The measured parameters are obtained with a decay-time dependent analysis yielding $C_f = 0.791 \pm 0.061 \pm 0.022$, $A_f^{ΔΓ} = -0.051 \pm 0.134 \pm 0.058$, $A_{\overline{f}}^{ΔΓ} = -0.303 \pm 0.125 \pm 0.055$, $S_f = -0.571 \pm 0.084 \pm 0.023$ and $S_{\overline{f}} = -0.503 \pm 0.084 \pm 0.025$, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. This corresponds to $CP$ violation in the interference between mixing and decay of about $8.6\,σ$. Together with the value of the Bs mixing phase $-2β_s$, these parameters are used to obtain a measurement of the CKM angle $γ$ equal to $ (74\pm12)^\circ$ modulo $180^{\circ}$, where the uncertainty contains both statistical and systematic contributions. This result is combined with the previous LHCb measurement in this channel using $3\,\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ resulting in a determination of $γ= (81^{+12}_{-11})^\circ$.

Amplitude analysis and branching fraction measurement of $B^{+}\to D^{*-}D^{+}_{s}π^{+}$ decays

LHCb collaboration, R. Aaij, A. S. W. Abdelmotteleb et al.

The decays of the $B^{+}$ meson to the final state $D^{*-}D^{+}_{s}π^{+}$ are studied in proton-proton collision data collected with the LHCb detector at centre-of-mass energies of 7, 8, and 13 TeV, corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 9 fb$^{-1}$. The ratio of branching fractions of the $B^{+}\to D^{*-}D^{+}_{s}π^{+}$ and $B^{0}\to D^{*-}D^{+}_{s}$ decays is measured to be $0.173\pm 0.006\pm 0.010$, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. Using partially reconstructed $D^{*+}_{s}\to D^{+}_{s}γ$ and $D^{+}_{s}π^{0}$ decays, the ratio of branching fractions between the $B^{+}\to D^{*-}D^{*+}_{s}π^{+}$ and $B^{+}\to D^{*-}D^{+}_{s}π^{+}$ decays is determined as $1.31\pm 0.07\pm 0.14$. An amplitude analysis of the $B^{+}\to D^{*-}D^{+}_{s}π^{+}$ decay is performed for the first time, revealing dominant contributions from known excited charm resonances decaying to the $D^{*-}π^{+}$ final state. No significant evidence of exotic contributions in the $D^{+}_{s}π^{+}$ or $D^{*-}D^{+}_{s}$ channels is found. The fit fraction of the scalar state $T_{c\bar{s} 0}^{\ast}(2900)^{++}$ observed in the $B^{+}\to D^{-}D^{+}_{s}π^{+}$ decay is determined to be less than 2.3% at a 90% confidence level.

Study of charmonium production via the decay to $p\bar{p}$ at $\sqrt{s} = 13 TeV$

LHCb collaboration, R. Aaij, A. S. W. Abdelmotteleb et al.

Charmonium production cross-section in proton-proton collisions is measured at the centre-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s}=13\,TeV$ using decays to $p\bar{p}$ final state. The study is performed using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $2.2\,{fb}^{-1}$ collected in 2018 with the $LHCb$ detector. The production cross-section of the $η_c$ meson is measured in a rapidity range of $2.0 < y < 4.0$ and in a transverse momentum range of $5.0 < p_{T} < 20.0\,{GeV/\it{c}}$, which is extended compared with previous $LHCb$ analyses. The differential cross-section is measured in bins of $p_{T}$ and, for the first time, of $y$. Upper limits, at 90% and 95% confidence levels, on the $η_c(2S)$ and $h_c(1P)$ prompt production cross-sections are determined for the first time.

Methods for Predicting the Costs of Maintaining Nuclear Heritage Facilities in а Safe State

D. F. Iliasov, A. Y. Ivanov, E. O. Kuznetsova

The relevance of the conducted research is determined by the need to control and forecast the costs of enterprises to maintain shutdown nuclear energy facilities in a save condition in order to solve budget planning problems. In the near future, an increase in operating expenses is expected due to an increase in the number of such facilities. To solve the problem econometric forecasting methods are used.Purpose of the research. This study is aimed to develop a methodology for estimating the costs of maintaining nuclear and radiation hazardous facilities in a safe condition and the safe storage of radioactive waste, considering the specifics of accounting at nuclear industry enterprises and forecasting such costs, taking into account plans for shutting down and decommissioning of facilities and removing accumulated radioactive waste from storage facilities in the future.Materials and methods. In the research there was developed the methodology of isolation from the overall structure costs, associated with maintaining shutdown facilities and storage facilities for radioactive waste of nuclear industry enterprises. A cumulative estimation of such costs has been carried out for facilities whose operation for the intended purpose has currently been discontinued. Based on obtained retrospective data, a correlation-regression model with structural changes was developed to predict the costs of maintaining nuclear energy facilities in a safe condition which are expected to be shut down in the future. The developed model allows considering the specifics of facilities, their level of radiation hazard and overall characteristics, the average level of wages at enterprises and the cost of resources.Results. Based on the plans for the shutdown and decommissioning of nuclear energy facilities and the disposal of radioactive waste from storage facilities, the costs of maintaining such facilities in a safe condition with a planning horizon up to 2050 have been forecasted. The results of calculations show that the costs for nuclear energy facilities (except for nuclear power plant units) will increase to 10 billion rubles per year by 2035 (in 2022 prices) and will significantly decrease after 2035 - up to 7.5 billion rubles per year. The reduction will be due to the transfer to a nuclear and radiation safe state of large facilities of radiochemical plants, as well as the conservation of sites for the placement of industrial uranium-graphite reactors. The costs of maintaining the storage facilities of accumulated radioactive waste in a safe condition will be reduced annually (almost linearly) as they are transferred to the disposal of the removed radioactive waste and the conservation of special radioactive waste facilities. By 2035, costs will be reduced from the current level of 5 billion rubles to 4.3 billion rubles per year.Conclusion. The results of the study confirm the high importance of the implementation of the Federal Target Program “Ensuring Nuclear and Radiation Safety for 2016-2020 and for the period up to 2035”, under which it is planned to decommission about 75 stopped nuclear and radiation hazardous facilities and transfer about 155 thousand cubic meters of radioactive waste to disposal.

Measurement of prompt $D^+$ and $D^+_{s}$ production in $p\mathrm{Pb}$ collisions at $\sqrt {s_{\mathrm{NN}}}=5.02\,$TeV

LHCb collaboration, R. Aaij, A. S. W. Abdelmotteleb et al.

The production of prompt $D^+$ and $D^+_{s}$ mesons is studied in proton-lead collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of $\sqrt {s_{\mathrm{NN}}}=5.02\,$TeV. The data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $(1.58\pm0.02)\mathrm{nb}^{-1}$ is collected by the LHCb experiment at the LHC. The differential production cross-sections are measured using $D^+$ and $D^+_{s}$ candidates with transverse momentum in the range of $0<p_{\mathrm{T}} <14\,\mathrm{GeV}/c$ and rapidities in the ranges of $1.5<y^*<4.0$ and $-5.0<y^*<-2.5$ in the nucleon-nucleon centre-of-mass system. For both particles, the nuclear modification factor and the forward-backward production ratio are determined. These results are compared with theoretical models that include initial-state nuclear effects. In addition, measurements of the cross-section ratios between $D^+$, $D^+_{s}$ and $D^0$ mesons are presented, providing a baseline for studying the charm hadronization in lead-lead collisions at LHC energies.

On the Development of the Scientific Base of Quantum Technologies

A. I. Terekhov

The purpose of the article is to study the development of research in the field of quantum technologies, based on a bibliometric analysis of publications indexed in databases from the Web of Science Core Collection from 1990 to 2020. The global output of publications, the productivity of individual countries and organizations, indicators of international scientific cooperation are considered. The characteristic features of world studies in the field are revealed: a high concentration in the group of leaders, a noticeable participation of corporations and military scientific structures, and growing international cooperation. Considerable attention is paid to the positions of Russia, which towards the end of the period returned to the top ten countries in terms of productivity. The Russian Academy of Sciences is the sixth among the world scientific organizations in the production of publications on quantum technologies for the entire period; Russian scientists actively cooperate with foreign scientists, including those from leading Western countries. The internal landscape is characterized by a significant predominance of the “Center”, where the country’s leading research institutes and universities are located, and the still small research contribution of the Russian commercial sector.

Measurement of lepton universality parameters in $B^+\to K^+\ell^+\ell^-$ and $B^0\to K^{*0}\ell^+\ell^-$ decays

LHCb collaboration, R. Aaij, A. S. W. Abdelmotteleb et al.

A simultaneous analysis of the $B^+\to K^+\ell^+\ell^-$ and $B^0\to K^{*0}\ell^+\ell^-$ decays is performed to test muon-electron universality in two ranges of the square of the dilepton invariant mass, $q^2$. The measurement uses a sample of beauty meson decays produced in proton-proton collisions collected with the LHCb detector between 2011 and 2018, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $9$ $\text{fb}^{-1}$. A sequence of multivariate selections and strict particle identification requirements produce a higher signal purity and a better statistical sensitivity per unit luminosity than previous LHCb lepton universality tests using the same decay modes. Residual backgrounds due to misidentified hadronic decays are studied using data and included in the fit model. Each of the four lepton universality measurements reported is either the first in the given $q^2$ interval or supersedes previous LHCb measurements. The results are compatible with the predictions of the Standard Model.

MANAGEMENT OF INVESTMENT PROJECTS AS AN IMPORTANT COMPONENT OF ENTERPRISE MANAGEMENT IN THE GLOBAL SPACE

A. V. Nikitina, O. Shersheniuk, I. Kyrchata et al.

The article analyzes the concepts to determine the essence of the investment project. The theoretical and methodical approach to the definition of an investment project, which will provide the possibility for a clear identification of the essential features, ensure an effective interaction with internal and external dynamic environment is offered. The most common classification features of investment projects are singled out. The main features of the definition of the functions of investment management as a management system and a special area of enterprise management are determined. It was emphasized that for the steady positive development of industrial enterprises in a competitive and rapidly changing environment, effective management of investment activity of enterprises is a necessary condition for functioning. In addition, it is proved that in the context of the limited financial and other types of resources, the use of an integrated approach to investing is one more major area for improving the efficiency of management of investment processes at the macro level, and an integrated investment design is a system-integrated process of management of a set of investment projects that are subordinated to a single strategic plan focused on the successful implementation of the enterprise investment program. The necessity of further, more profound research of investment management in conditions of uncertainty and risk is substantiated. The next stage of the research should be the construction of a system for making investment decisions in conditions of uncertainty and risk.
