Modern business environments demand continuous reconfiguration of cross-functional processes, yet most enterprise systems remain organized around siloed departments, rigid workflows, and hard-coded automation. Meanwhile, large language models (LLMs) demonstrate strong capabilities in interpreting natural language and synthesizing unstructured information, but they lack deterministic, auditable execution of complex business logic. We introduce Autonomous Business System (AUTOBUS), a system that integrates LLM-based AI agents, predicate-logic programming, and business-semantics-centric enterprise data into a unified neuro-symbolic architecture for executing end-to-end business initiatives. AUTOBUS models a business initiative as a network of interrelated tasks with explicit pre- and post-conditions, required data, evaluation rules, and API-level actions. Enterprise data is organized as a knowledge graph, whose entities, relationships, and constraints are translated into logic facts and foundational rules that ground reasoning and ensure semantic consistency. Core AI agents synthesize task instructions, enterprise semantics, and available tools into task-specific logic programs, which are executed by a logic engine that enforces constraints, coordinates auxiliary tools, and produces deterministic outcomes. Humans specify task instructions, define and maintain business semantics and policies, curate tools, and supervise high-impact or ambiguous decisions, ensuring accountability and adaptability. We detail the AUTOBUS architecture, the structure of AI-generated logic programs, and the human-AI collaboration model and present a case study that demonstrates accelerated time to market in a data-rich organization. A reference implementation of the case study is available at https://github.com/cecilpang/autobus-paper.

This paper presents the trajectory of the artist researcher Graziela Andrade. She based herself on the experience with her daughter to search new approaches to rehabilitation centered on the subjectivity of the disabled person. The goal is to integrate art and Somatics to deepen the understanding of the intersection between dance and disability. The methodology includes knowing, practicing and discussing the somatic technique spiral praxis in an affective research, in which the personal experience of the researcher is essential. This involves being affected by practice, moving the theory and fostering political and ethical reflexivity, with a plural, performative writing to explore and communicate these impacts. Researchers from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (Federal University of Minas Gerais), under the coordination of Graziela, investigated and shared the process with the brazilian audience through workshops, video lessons and interviews on YouTube. The considerations for this field highlight dance as a knowledge that goes beyond common sense, reflecting the history and identity of the dancer.

With the rise of generative AI, industry interest in software agents is growing. Given the stochastic nature of generative AI-based agents, their effective and safe deployment in organizations requires robust governance, which can be facilitated by agentic business process management. However, given the nascence of this new-generation agent notion, it is not clear what BPM practitioners consider to be an agent, and what benefits, risks and governance challenges they associate with agent deployments. To investigate how organizations can effectively govern AI agents, we conducted a qualitative study involving semi-structured interviews with 22 BPM practitioners from diverse industries. They anticipate that agents will enhance efficiency, improve data quality, ensure better compliance, and boost scalability through automation, while also cautioning against risks such as bias, over-reliance, cybersecurity threats, job displacement, and ambiguous decision-making. To address these challenges, the study presents six key recommendations for the responsible adoption of AI agents: define clear business goals, set legal and ethical guardrails, establish human-agent collaboration, customize agent behavior, manage risks, and ensure safe integration with fallback options. Additionally, the paper outlines actions to align traditional BPM with agentic AI, including balancing human and agent roles, redefining human involvement, adapting process structures, and introducing performance metrics. These insights provide a practical foundation for integrating AI agents into business processes while preserving oversight, flexibility, and trust.

We prove that the quantum measurement process contains the same warping mechanism that occurs in categorical perception, a phenomenon ubiquitous in human perception. This warping causes stimuli belonging to the same category to be perceived as more similar, while stimuli belonging to different categories are perceived as more different. As a result of a detailed study of the quantum measurement using the Bloch representation, we identify the natural metric for pure states, namely the Fubini Study metric, and the natural metric for density states, namely the trace class metric. The warping mechanism of categorical perception is then manifested, when the distances between pure states, playing the role of stimuli for the quantum measurement, are warped into the distances between density states, playing the role of percepts for quantum measurement. We work out the example of a two-dimensional quantum model, a qubit, with 'light' and 'dark' as the two eigenstates, and show how the typical contraction and dilation warping of human perception manifest themselves in this example of the quantum measurement model of light and dark.

Digital transformation (DX) has recently become a pressing issue for many companies as the latest digital technologies, such as artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things, can be easily utilized. However, devising new business models is not easy for compa-nies, though they can improve their operations through digital technologies. Thus, business model design support methods are needed by people who lack digital tech-nology expertise. In contrast, large language models (LLMs) represented by ChatGPT and natural language processing utilizing LLMs have been developed revolutionarily. A business model design support system that utilizes these technologies has great potential. However, research on this area is scant. Accordingly, this study proposes an LLM-based method for comparing and analyzing similar companies from different business do-mains as a first step toward business model design support utilizing LLMs. This method can support idea generation in digital business model design.

This article considers selected literary, ideological, and social contexts of the origins of Molière’s Don Juan (1665) in order to demonstrate links between particular cultural phenomena of the mid-seventeenth century and the construction of the play’s protagonist and some thematic motifs. The author reviews various hypotheses concerning the literary and cultural roots of Molière’s version of the story of Don Juan, to focus on the evocation of Spanish cultural contexts. She also emphasizes that the author managed to incorporate into the story of the legendary seducer ample commentary pertaining to factual reality. Ideas rooted in aesthetic explorations and current ideological discussions and disputes contributed to the creation of a protagonist whose experience also corresponds in many aspects to that of the present-day reader and theatergoer.

Research on the role of Large Language Models (LLMs) in business models and services is limited. Previous studies have utilized econometric models, technical showcases, and literature reviews. However, this research is pioneering in its empirical examination of the influence of LLMs at the firm level. The study introduces a detailed taxonomy that can guide further research on the criteria for successful LLM-based business model implementation and deepen understanding of LLM-driven business transformations. Existing knowledge on this subject is sparse and general. This research offers a more detailed business model design framework based on LLM-driven transformations. This taxonomy is not only beneficial for academic research but also has practical implications. It can act as a strategic tool for businesses, offering insights and best practices. Businesses can lev-erage this taxonomy to make informed decisions about LLM initiatives, ensuring that technology in-vestments align with strategic goals.

This essay is an investigation into the historical claim of a work of screendance that involves re-imagination, re-composition, or re-enactment: In what way does it access history? And how should we treat, with due seriousness, the vicarious aura of historicity these works afford? After identifying the ontological status of time as the blind spot in the debate regarding the corporeal relationship to the archive, I introduce the Deleuzian conception of time as an incessant exchange between the virtual and the actual. I present the hauntology of certain pasts as a result of the virtual-actual exchange dissipating the temporal identity of an event, which is in turn experienced as the subject's dispersion of the self. And I redefine the body as a corporeal-archival system that channels the exchange. I then analyze the nostalgic tones of the two selected films as affects formulated by cine-choreographies that express the dispersion of the self as an experience of the dissipation of the temporal identity of an event, thereby providing an analytical approach that makes it possible to interpret such screendance practices' claim to history.

This paper presents an approach to measuring business sentiment based on textual data. Business sentiment has been measured by traditional surveys, which are costly and time-consuming to conduct. To address the issues, we take advantage of daily newspaper articles and adopt a self-attention-based model to define a business sentiment index, named S-APIR, where outlier detection models are investigated to properly handle various genres of news articles. Moreover, we propose a simple approach to temporally analyzing how much any given event contributed to the predicted business sentiment index. To demonstrate the validity of the proposed approach, an extensive analysis is carried out on 12 years' worth of newspaper articles. The analysis shows that the S-APIR index is strongly and positively correlated with established survey-based index (up to correlation coefficient r=0.937) and that the outlier detection is effective especially for a general newspaper. Also, S-APIR is compared with a variety of economic indices, revealing the properties of S-APIR that it reflects the trend of the macroeconomy as well as the economic outlook and sentiment of economic agents. Moreover, to illustrate how S-APIR could benefit economists and policymakers, several events are analyzed with respect to their impacts on business sentiment over time.

Small business classification is a difficult and important task within many applications, including customer segmentation. Training on small business names introduces gender and geographic origin biases. A model for predicting one of 66 business types based only upon the business name was developed in this work (top-1 f1-score = 60.2%). Two approaches to removing the bias from this model are explored: replacing given names with a placeholder token, and augmenting the training data with gender-swapped examples. The results for these approaches is reported, and the bias in the model was reduced by hiding given names from the model. However, bias reduction was accomplished at the expense of classification performance (top-1 f1-score = 56.6%). Augmentation of the training data with gender-swapping samples proved less effective at bias reduction than the name hiding approach on the evaluated dataset.

This paper describes our work on developing a new business sentiment index using daily newspaper articles. We adopt a recurrent neural network (RNN) with Gated Recurrent Units to predict the business sentiment of a given text. An RNN is initially trained on Economy Watchers Survey and then fine-tuned on news texts for domain adaptation. Also, a one-class support vector machine is applied to filter out texts deemed irrelevant to business sentiment. Moreover, we propose a simple approach to temporally analyzing how much and when any given factor influences the predicted business sentiment. The validity and utility of the proposed approaches are empirically demonstrated through a series of experiments on Nikkei Newspaper articles published from 2013 to 2018.
