In this work, we present some significant points of Paul Ricoeur's thinking on the character of the serpent in the Adamic myth. Ricoeur studies this myth in depth, subjecting it to a process of demythologization that allows for a proper understanding of the symbol, in which the serpent stands out as an ambivalent character. Despite its identification as the «Other», the serpent maintains substantial affinities with man, such as its intelligence and nakedness, but it also maintains notable differences, such as its «cunning for evil» compared to human innocence. This evil is exposed by Ricoeur in successive degrees of exteriorization, leading to the analysis of the traditional identification of the serpent with the figures of the devil-demon-Satan. Throughout the theme, as Ricoeur proposes, there remains a residue of uncertainty, a remnant impossible to demythologize, which ultimately leads us to continue asking ourselves what or who the serpent really is.

Intergenerational justice represents a crucial theme in the on-going debate in ethics, politics and law. In what follows, I would like to show that a determined phenomenological perspective drawing from the motive of alterity can shed new light on such a topic. Importantly, my concern will be to display how this approach can provide a thorough justificatory underpinning for a responsibility towards future generations, while denouncing the main shortcomings that mainstream approaches reveal when dealing with this issue.

Neste artigo, procura-se enquadrar na perspetiva da retórica e da argumentação a problemática do chamado “negacionismo” da COVID-19, entendendo-se por um tal conceito não tanto ou simplesmente a rejeição da identificação médica dessa doença, mas, fundamentalmente, quer a negação da sua gravidade e a da sua amplitude pandémica como matéria de saúde pública, quer a negação das medidas adotadas para a combater, de maneira geral, pelas autoridades competentes. As posições defendidas sobre o assunto por uma autoridade médica especializada, mas rotulada e estigmatizada como “negacionista” (Fernando Nobre, médico, ex-Professor catedrático convidado da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de Lisboa e doutor honoris causa pela mesma Universidade), servem de caso em estudo.

O artigo debate as disputas classificatórias contemporâneas em torno de figuras como Trump, Bolsonaro, Le Pen e afins. Sem pretender esgotar essa discussão demasiado ampla, faz-se aqui um balanço bibliográfico possível, apresentando e interrelacionando algumas interpretações. Começa introduzindo, de forma muito sintética e a partir do “Dicionário de conceitos políticos”, parte da bibliografia que define fascismo e populismo e pensa suas relações. Garantido esse entendimento básico, periodiza-se brevemente a extrema-direita no pós-guerra, apresentando suas tipologias e a atualidade do conceito de fascismo.Então, são apresentadas algumas interpretações que mobilizam um ou outro desses conceitos para definir lideranças e partidos contemporâneos como (neo)fascistas, pós-fascistas ou (neo)populistas. Constata-se que, não há consenso quanto ao uso dos conceitos nem para os casos clássicos nem para os atuais.

The aim of the study was to determine the role of foreign citizens registered in Moscow region, in the maintenance of the epidemic process of measles, rubella and mumps based on the basis of their susceptibility to these infections and compare with the control group (residents of the Russia Central Federal District - donors of blood). Materials and methods. Examination included 909 samples of blood sera obtained from migrant workers and 939 blood donors (residents of the Central Federal district of Russia) which were tested for the presence of antibodies (IgG) to measles, rubella and mumps with the help of enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Results. Average relative density of seronegative persons among the surveyed migrants and donors to rubella virus ranged from 6.6 to 9.8%, the measles virus - 13.5 and 16.5%, respectively, statistically significant distinctions in groups were not established. The proportion of seronegative persons to mumps virus twice and more exceeded the standard documentation level among migrants and donors (32.5 and 47.5% respectively). Conclusion. There was a significant excess of the permissible level of seronegative persons to the measles, rubella and mumps viruses among migrant workers and blood donors, which creates preconditions for maintenance of epidemic process and dictates the necessity of carrying out the corrective vaccination (or revaccination) of non-immune persons

Me proponho traçar, em linhas gerais, um recorte mínimo da coletânea Merleau-Ponty and the art of perception, publicada pela Suny Press, em 2016, sob a organização de Duane H. Davis e William S. Hamrick. A obra traz para a primeira cena de debate, a figura de Merleau-Ponty, ao retratar alguns de seus temas mais capilares tendo como fio condutor as noções de “percepção” e “arte”.   [I propose to outline, in general, a minimal profile of the compilation Merleau-Ponty and the art of perception, published by Suny Press, in 2016, edited by Duane H. Davis and William S. Hamrick. The work brings to the first scene of debate the figure of Merleau-Ponty portraying some of its most capillary themes having the notions of “perception” and “art” as a guide.]

O objetivo deste artigo é expor a concepção sartreana de Ser, ou seja, tentaremos demonstrar como o filósofo francês opera a divisão do Ser em duas regiões: a consciência (chamada por ele de Ser-Para-si) e o Ser-Em-si. Para isso partiremos, principalmente, das considerações feitas na introdução da obra O Ser e o Nada, onde Sartre, a partir da descrição de fenômeno, chega a concepção da consciência. Será preciso, em seguida, esclarecer as estruturas da consciência para que, por fim, possamos mostrar como a própria consciência exige a existência de um outro tipo de Ser que não é si mesmo: o Ser-Em-si.

This method involves the use of mathematics to show scientific discoveries to the eyes of each one, as well as philosophers and astronomy specialists. The strategy of sight offers, through highly accurate drawings and images, the statement of things literally never seen before, enhancing and extending man's view for the first time in a possibly infinite space, certainly much larger than the enclosed area of ​​the Aristotelian- Ptolemaic system. The truth, in fact, can be seen, not only deduced by abstract logic. The beginning of Einstein's theory of relativity is therefore the extraordinary ability to imagine how the world can be made, namely the strategy of sight from which sprang a hypothesis produced by abductive method rather than inductive method. In hypothetical reasoning or abduction the scientist leads to the conclusion that there is a fact completely different from any other observed, a fact unprecedented, whose strength and whose power of conviction are able to make natural and understandable a dark and impenetrable puzzle of data.

Звертаючись до класичної філософії, автор досліджує генезу і структуру натуральної ови, полемізує з сучасними теоріями мовознавства і визначає умови, яких повинна дотримуватись мова. щоб бути інструментом пізнання реального світу. Такими є неавтономність і відкритість мови як системи знаків, збереження в системі інтегральності семантичної, синтаксичної і прагматичної структур, її залежність від пізнавального акту і предмету пізнання. Теорії мови, які не відповідають вищенаведенним умовам, деформують пізнання і власне мову, що в остаточності призводить до цілковитого відриву мови від реального світу

Self-consciousness is the source or set of information about our own present mental states. My self-knowledge is the set of all my information about myself, not only about my present mental states, but also my past mental states, my personality, my body or even my unconsciousness. Many philosophers thought that self-consciousness data are certain knowledge (Brentano, Husserl, Ingarden) but many contemporary philosophers claim that the first-person knowledge does not exist (Wittgenstein, Ryle, Dennett). Davidson refutes both behaviorism and subjectivity myth and takes some moderate position: first-person knowledge is dependent on third-person knowledge but third-person knowledge is dependent on first-person knowledge. There are some problems to reduce consciousness to physical states and to know about it. So, first-person knowledge is not certain and autonomous but it does exist and play important role. The two interdependent kinds of knowledge are two pillars of human knowledge. According to Davidson there is also some third pillar and it is the second-person knowledge.
