Human Resource Optimization in the Hospitality Industry Big Data Forecasting and Cross-Cultural Engagement

Ting Li, Sijiao Liu, Erin Hong et al.

The expansion of the hospitality industry in the Asia-Pacific region presents dual challenges for human resource management: optimizing labor costs while governing cross-cultural teams. Using an international hotel group as a case study, this paper investigates the coupled effects of organizational efficiency and cultural development through big data forecasting models and the Denison Culture Assessment Tool. A workforce forecasting model was constructed using historical labor hour data and productivity metrics, validated via multiple regression and ARIMA time series analysis. Results indicate that integrating an intelligent scheduling system with labor productivity models achieved $26 million in annual labor cost savings and a 15% increase in core position retention rates. Regarding cultural development, analysis integrating cultural assessments and employee surveys revealed a significant correlation between value alignment and employee satisfaction (r=0.71, p<0.01), with average employee satisfaction increasing by 12%. This research demonstrates that in cross-cultural contexts, human resource strategies combining data-driven forecasting with cultural interventions can achieve dual benefits in cost reduction and employee engagement.

A Reliable Traceability Model for Grain and Oil Quality Safety Based on Blockchain and Industrial Internet

Jiping Xu, Jiaqi Han, Zhibo Qi et al.

Gain and oil are important compounds in global food supplies, and ensuring the quality and safety of grains and oil is a critical issue in the food supply chain security. Data traceability is the key factor in quality and safety management. Currently, it is a big challenge to ensure the reliability of data and guarantee the efficient exchange of data in various highly heterogeneous systems. To address this challenge, we develop a reliable traceability model applied to the grain and oil industry. In this paper, we first analyze the characteristics of the whole chain traceability information flow, and then we propose the concept that the connector for blockchain and industrial internet is suitable for data traceability in the grain and oil industry. Based on this concept, a reliable traceability model of grain and oil quality and safety is constructed. Finally, a reliable traceability prototype system for wheat quality and safety was designed, and the system implementation of the model was validated. The overall advantage of the proposed model is that the traceability information is safe and credible, the interaction is concise and efficient, and the security and full-process traceability of cross-chain information interaction are guaranteed. This paper fills the gap in the application of research chain network in the field of grain and oil traceability. Reference to this model can also be used to implement and adjust the traceability system, which is adaptable to stakeholders in the grain and oil industry. The model and techniques in this paper not only demonstrate value in real-world applications but also inspire further research in the field.

Rural cooperatives play an important role in increasing the cultural, social and economic partnerships of the rural population and by improving the provision of services in the field of providing basic necessities and livelihoods of farmers provide the basis for improving the income and employment of farmers. In this regard, the purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of financial ratios on the profitability of 36 active rural cooperatives in Sistan and Baluchestan province in the period 2016-2019 using the GLS method. Findings show that the instantaneous ratio has a negative and significant effect on the company's profitability in the rural cooperative company, liquidity is low and the company should be managed in a recession and a sudden increase in the price of agricultural inputs and basic goods provide the conditions to receive their claims in the shortest possible time. The effect of current debt to equity ratio on profitability has been negative and significant due to the growth of short-term debt, which leads to a decrease in working capital of the company and thus reduces the company's profitability, while the ratio of total debt to equity has a positive effect. And has had a significant impact on the profitability of rural cooperatives That is, most of the company's capital is provided by shareholders and the cost of loan interest is reduced and the company's profitability increases. Finally the ratio of total asset turnover has a positive and significant effect on the profitability of rural cooperatives.

A New Hestenes-Stiefel and Fletcher-Reeves Conjugate Gradient Method with Descent Properties for Optimization Models

Saleh Nazzal Alsuliman, Sulaiman Ibrahim Mohammed, Mustafa Mamat et al.

The conjugate gradient (CG) scheme is regarded as among the efficient methods for large-scale optimization problems. Several versions of CG methods have been presented recently owing to their rapid convergence, simplicity, and their less memory requirements. In this article, we construct a new CG algorithm via the combination of the classical methods of Fletcher-Reeves (FR), and Hestenes-Stiefel (HS). The new CG method possesses the descent properties and converge globally provided the exact minimization condition is satisfied. The tests of the new CG method using MATLAB are analysed in terms of iteration number and CPU time. Numerical results have been reported which shows that the proposed CG method performs better compare to other CG methods.

fereshteh saymohammadi, Hossien Mehdizadeh, samireh saymohammadi

< p >To achieving rural development Cooperatives as a third pillar of the country''''s economy plays a vital role.  Cooperatives improve the efficiency of financial, human and natural resources and enhance economic activity.  This study presents strategies for rural development in two regions Hamadan and Bahar township of Hamadan province.  In this study, SWOT and ANP multi-criteria decision-making models were used.  Using the community elite''''s opinion, strategies were identified by the SWOT matrix and then strategic goals ranked with a multi-criteria decision-making model. Based on the results, the high number of decision-makers and the membership of co-operative managers in other communities are the most important strengths and opportunities point. The mismatch between available credit and needs and market instability (inflation and recession) are the most important strengths and weaknesses point face-off cooperatives.  According to the results of the ANP model, increased supervision and support of the cooperative sector in law, management of available resources and assignment of further activities to the cooperative sector with weight 0.195, 0.174 and 0.127 are in priority. Strategic goals should be of interest to planners and policymakers in decision-making. Overall, the co-operative sector needs more government support and law''''s rule oversight and proper management of available resources, especially labor and natural resources. It is suggested that the government act as a supervisor by delegating more activities to the members of the Cooperatives and to provide farmers with lesser bureaucracy in coordination with subsidiary organizations.

International Trade of Chilean and Tasmanian Salmon and the Governmental Human Resource Policy enabling its Expansion

Arslan Naru, Faran Shoaib

International trade policy theorists have repeatedly focused their works on actors developing or implementing policies, rather than the actual policies themselves. Dani Rodrik, Chalmers Johnson and Peter Evans are amongst those renowned international trade and industrialization scholars who dedicated most of their research to human resource development in countries that delivered miraculous economic growth. Chile may be considered one of those miraculous states, in part due to the development of its salmon fishing industry. Tasmania, another southern hemisphere salmon producing region, has also procure a State-guided sectorial development. Both face common attributes and challenges. On one hand, Chile and Tasmania salmon development is highly explained due to the existence of a bureaucratic regime highly supportive of human capital development in the new sector. On the other hand, still both face challenges to find the right balance between profitability and environmental sustenance. Chile has shown record export growth, but it has raised questions on sanitary management; while Tasmania has enforced strict environmental compliance, it has hardly earned anything from exports of Salmon.

A Cuckoo Search Algorithm Approach for Multi Objective Optimization in Reverse Logistics Network under Uncertainty Condition

Reza Ehtesham Rasi

In this study, an efficient logistics network was designed to optimize both time and cost as the most effective factors using a mathematical model (two-objective fuzzy optimization) in a reverse logistics system. This paper attempted to determine value of goods sent between return products processing centers in any time period, in such a way to minimize total cost and time of delay within supply chain. The fuzzy approach was adopted in order to consider uncertainty in reverse logistics network. The validity of model was measured through a model proposed by Azar Resin Co and then implemented and solved by GAMS software. According to previous studies and implementation of model at smaller scale, the problem revolved around designing NP-hard logistics network. Hence, exact methods cannot solve these problems on large scale, for which Cuckoo algorithm was considered. In order to validate the newly proposed algorithm, results were compared against the exact solution. The results suggested that the proposed Cuckoo algorithm was sufficiently accurate to solve the problem and achieve values similar to exact solution.

Buyer-Supplier Relationships and Power Position: Interchaning

Hebatollah Morsy

According to several studies, power and interdependence play a considerable role in understanding the buyer–supplier relationships, yet, empirical research is still limited. Also, the nature of the buyer-supplier relationship and managing them might vary based on the power position of buyers and suppliers. Few studies focused on the reason behind this interrelation and strong influence of power on the buyer-supplier relationships. Thus, the purpose of this study is to gain better understanding and try to identify how power position and buyer-supplier relationships are interrelated, and whether there are common determinants and/or characteristics behind this strong bond between the two concepts. Both transaction cost analysis theory and social exchange theory were integrated in building the argument. Regarding the methodology, qualitative exploratory research design was employed by using multiple-case study as the main research method, where three multinational Egyptian organizations were selected. Moreover, data was collected using individual in-depth interviews, and analyzed through coding and cross case analysis techniques. The results showed that there are common factors that influence both buyer-supplier relationship characteristics and power position attributes. And according, the findings helped in pointing out a new lens of discussing and investigating the bond between buyer-supplier relationships ad power in research.

Abolfazl Danaei, Esmaeil rahaei

Data envelopment analysis was used to evaluate the human resources at Department of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare, Semnan Province as the first issue to be addressed in research. Finally, based on fuzzy models another issue was the uncertainty in the world of paid staff performance evaluation. The results in this research indicated that the traditional systems of assessment in Department of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare of Semnan Province did not have enough efficiency and it did not have any effects on the increase of willingness and tendency of the staff. Therefore,  a new system of assessment which was compiled on the basis of the fuzzy data envelopment analysis was represented to substitute the traditional system. This model had some strong points such as the personnel assessment without the manager`s verdict, had the ability to perform under the circumstance of uncertainly, the probable presence of an ideal virtual unit, and the evaluation of personnel based on the qualitative objects.
