La poesía de Nicomedes Santa Cruz es una de las que más se ha difundido en el país. Empero, son escasas las publicaciones sobre su obra vinculada al universo figurativo y estético. Por ello, el objetivo de este trabajo es indagar, desde la Retórica cultural y el análisis del discurso, en las marcas de la oralidad representadas en los poemas: “El café”, “¡Oiga usté, señor dotor!” y “Palmero sube a la palma”. Desde nuestra perspectiva, la representación metafórica que deviene de la oralidad ha posibilitado configurar en los poemas dos tipos de memoria: la cultural y la comunicativa. Una, cumple una función de almacenamiento social; la otra, realiza la función de una memoria de todos los días situada en la cotidianidad. Finalmente, observaremos cómo se configura la imaginación lingüística en función de múltiples huellas de esta vinculadas a la representación de la lengua.
This article examines the construction of political legitimacy and authority in the discourses of democratic leaders by attempting to distinguish between two often confused notions, and to identify the discursive and argumentative procedures that put them in place. It takes stock of a body of work devoted to the subject and proposes an original approach that emphasizes the centrality of argumentation in the process of legitimation and the construction of a leader’s authority. Using the example of the first speeches of the heads of state at the time of the Covid-19 crisis, it proposes an analytical framework that can account for discursive and argumentative operations and their socio-political stakes in context.
This article aims to characterize the act of asking for forgiveness about traumatic historical past events from a rhetorical and discourse analysis perspective. I discuss this act as a way of using the past in political discourse and, therefore, as a way of analyzing the discursive anchorage of memory. As a case study, I examine the request for forgiveness that former Argentinan President Néstor Kirchner made on behalf of the National State to the victims of state terrorism during the country's last military dictatorship (1976-1983). This happened on March 24, 2004, at the ESMA (Navy Mechanics School), Argentina's main clandestine detention center. I also analyze the tensions that this request for forgiveness and construction of memory generated with the first democratically elected president after the dictatorship, Raúl Alfonsín (1983-1989), and with the political party to which he belonged, the Radical Civic Union.
Friedrich Dürrenmatt esordisce come romanziere negli anni Cinquanta con due opere poliziesche, in cui la struttura del giallo tradizionale viene sottilmente modificata da incisi, divagazioni e sviamenti che infrangono la logica del genere e ci proiettano in un mondo meno solido e meno indagabile di quello del classico romanzo a enigma. È con il romanzo successivo, tuttavia, Das Versprechen (1958), che le convenzioni vengono completamente ribaltate e la razionalità dell’investigatore non guida più a una soluzione necessaria, ma precipita nel vuoto della follia e della mancanza di senso. Ancor di più, il Requiem per un romanzo giallo (sottotitolo di Das Versprechen) trova forma nel racconto Das Sterben der Pythia (1976), in cui Dürrenmatt rielabora il mito di Edipo e ne fa l’epitome per ogni (im)possibile indagine tesa a ricostruire una (la) verità in un mondo fuor di sesto.

This essay examines the efforts of the writer Marcel Pagnol and the philosopher Michel Serres to revive the nuanced Amerindian metaphor of “Mother Earth” in the Anthropocene epoch. Given that faulty anthropocentric logic and the unfounded doctrine of human exceptionalism concretize the nexus of the current era of non-sustainability, Pagnol and Serres attempt to breathe life back into this often misunderstood, multifaceted concept in an effort to (re-)envision a healthier relationship with the cosmic whole that sustains the existence of all sentient and non-sentient beings. As this study highlights, this rich Amerindian metaphor opens up into philosophical, spiritual, and scientific dimensions. Moreover, this investigation of the common threads that exist between Pagnol’s prose and Serres’s interdisciplinary, unconventional philosophy reveals the deep symbolism of the Amerindian metaphor of “Mother Earth. This ecocentric concept could represent an invaluable point of departure for articulating the radical paradigm shift in our homocentric thinking that is paramount in order to avert the impending, anthropogenic ecological crisis that threatens to destroy all abundant life on this planet. Pagnol’s prose and Serres’s philosophy promote a different way of being in the world in a human-centered universe that is increasingly defined by an environmental calamity of epic proportions.

Il saggio si propone di esplorare il volume Ex.it apparso nel 2013 che presenta tra alcune delle più significative scritture di ricerca italiana contemporanea. In particolare, s’intende analizzare il territorio della cosiddetta prosa in prosa, cercando di capirne le matrici e gli sviluppi. S’individuano al contempo alcuni principi fondamentali che possono aiutarci ad orientarci nei testi in questione, ovvero la matericità, la spazialità e la visività. Questi stessi principi mostrano il profondo dialogo che tali scritture hanno con le arti visive. The essay aims to explore the volume Ex.it appeared in 2013 that presents some of the most significant Italian contemporary research writings. In particular, we intend to analyze the territory of the so-called prose in prose, trying to understand its matrixes and developments. At the same time, we identify some fundamental principles that can help us to orient ourselves in the texts in question, that is the materiality, the spatiality and the visual. These same principles show the profound dialogue these writings have with the visual arts.

This paper presents the results of a cross-cultural discourse analysis of the chapters on Word War I in French and German history textbooks. More precisely, the study deals with textbook authors’ representations of the relationship between “the past” and the present of the teaching and learning situation. It shows that authors convey – and construct – these representations by a variety of linguistic and discursive means such as the title of their textbook, temporal markers, different types of description and of reported speech, as well as comparisons of events to other events and the positioning of the students in the tasks they are asked to accomplish. In general, French textbook authors take on a contemporary perspective, but do not always succeed in rigorously following it, whereas German authors go back and forth between the past and the present time and engage the students in doing so as well.
Este artículo presenta el hallazgo de un opúsculo con la versión latina de los progymnasmata de Aftonio realizada por Rodolfo Agrícola, que fue impreso en Barcelona en el taller de Carles Amorós en 1546 y perteneció al colegio jesuita de dicha ciudad. Este librito constituye una pieza importante para la historia del texto de Aftonio en España, porque se trata de la impresión más temprana de progymnasmata que ha sido hallada hasta ahora. Además, este hallazgo proporciona nuevas evidencias del significativo papel que jugó la Corona de Aragón en la recepción de los antiguos ejercicios retóricos. En este trabajo se ofrece un breve estudio inicial que se centra en el contenido, el contexto editorial y académico y la posible filiación del opúsculo
Dall’esame di alcuni esempi di contesti narrativi e procedimenti stilistici caratteristici di diversi autori russi contemporanei che hanno scelto di scrivere nella lingua del paese in cui sono emigrati emerge una tendenza comune nella rappresentazione della Russia natia. Pur nella diversità delle loro opere, questi scrittori rappresentano la cultura delle loro radici avvalendosi di una visione ‘caleidoscopica’ in cui i riferimenti storici, letterari, artistici vengono rivisitati attraverso ricordi, sogni e riflessioni e filtrati attraverso la lingua e la cultura della loro terra adottiva.
From the investigation of some examples of narrative contexts and stylistic processes typical of various contemporary Russian authors who have chosen to write in the language of the country where they emigrated, a common tendency emerges concerning the representation of Russia. Despite the differences of the works considered, these authors represents the culture of their roots in a ‘kaleidoscopic’ way, reconsidering the historical, literary and artistic references through memories, dreams and reflections, filtering them through the language and culture of their chosen country.

El objetivo del presente trabajo es analizaruna serie de afirmaciones con respecto al proceso creativo de las crónicas del Canciller Ayala que, aunque son compartidas por una buena parte de la crítica, merecerían ser puestas en tela de juicio o, cuando menos, estudiadas sin ideaspreconcebidas.
In questo articolo Alexandre Urussov (Aleksandr o Alexander, a seconda delle diverse traslitte- razioni) ricorda la propria partecipazione all’associazione giovanile underground SMOG in URSS nel 1965. Al tempo giovane scrittore moscovita, Alexandre Urussov prese parte ad alcune mani- festazioni organizzate da SMOG e pubblicò il racconto Il grido delle formiche lontane nella rivista samizdat Sfinsky. Il racconto è stato tradotto in varie lingue e pubblicato nel Regno Unito, in Italia, Germania, Francia, Canada e Islanda. L’autore spiega qui le dinamiche di alcuni processi culturali nell’URSS di quei tempi, le caratteristiche distintive del Samizdat letterario degli scrittori SMOG e gli atti di repressione delle autorità sovietiche contro gli scrittori dissidenti.

This essay explores the self presentation of Salvador Dali in an interview book in which the visual dimension of his self-portrait disappears, and where the interaction with the interviewer does not allow him to freely stage his own self. The project of the interviewer – to exhibit the great man by tolerating but minimizing his excentricities – clashes with the project of the interwiewee, who wants to reinforce the delirious dimension of his performance, and fully integrate the interview in his paranoia-critical work. One of Dali’s strategies consists of revealing in a comic light the rules of the genre in a series of spectacular transgressions depicting him as both a madman and a critique. Another, complementary strategy consists of an exacerbation of the stereotype of the artist as a mad genious in order to contribute to a self-image serving a project both mercantile and esthetic (paranoïa-critical). Thus through critical delirium and humor, the interviewee tries to undo his interviewer, and tranform his audience into a participant of his Metamorphosis of Narcissus and the mythification of his person.

Our research has defined severe verbal abuse as built up tension characterized by directly threatening acts (such as provocation, threats, insults), and polemical violence as argumentative discourse which mobilizes indirect discursive devices, such as implicit discourse relations and irony. Yet, neither type of discourse can be considered to be impervious to mutual influence. Based on the content of an educational DVD featuring acted out scenes of daily verbal abuse taking place in public and institutional spaces (i.e., checks, summons, fines), we will show how specific argumentative devices, which we will describe, are very efficiently used within interactions that are characterised by severe abuse, with the aim of destabilizing and taking control over somebody.
Il presente saggio si propone di analizzare alcune opere letterarie in senso lato (poesie, libri-documentario, script di film-documetario) scritte negli Stati Uniti negli anni della Grande Depressione (1929-1941) alla luce della presenza ricorrente di cataloghi, liste e inventari. Partendo da un excursus storico circa la centralità del catalogo come forma narrativa atta a rendere l’abbondanza del Nuovo Mondo nella cultura e nella letteratura dell’Ottocento (dai diari dei primi esploratori agli scritti di Thomas Jefferson, dalle geremiadi puritane agli almanacchi e ai diari rurali, dalle teorizzazioni estetiche di Ralph Waldo Emerson al «poeta catalogatore» Walt Whitman e al Walden di H. D. Thoreau), il saggio si sofferma su alcune opere-documentario degli anni Trenta del Novecento; un periodo che, segnato profondamente dalla crisi economica e testimone di una riconfigurazione della geografia reale e simbolica del territorio nazionale, punta nuovamente a cataloghi e inventari, secondo una scelta retorica funzionale alla rappresentazione del rovescio del mito di abbondanza delle origini.
