Effect of 6-benzyladenine application time on apple thinning of cv. 'Golden Delicious' and cv. 'Idared'

Barbara AMBROŽIČ TURK, Matej STOPAR

Apple thinning of cv. 'Golden Delicious' and cv. 'Idared' was studied after the application of 6-benzyladenine (BA) 100 mgl-1 and 50 mgl-1 respectively, applied at different time of blooming period and over a wider range of fruitlet diameter. When BA 100 mgl-1 was applied on cv. 'Golden Delicious', significant reduction in final fruit number per tree was observed if applied at the end of blooming period or when fruitlet diameters were 6 mm, 15 mm or 20 mm, but thinning was not significant if applied at full bloom or at 10 mm or 25 mm fruitlet diameter. The share of bigger fruits of cv. 'Golden Delicious' (> 65mm) was increased at all BA application time treatments, but significantly only in the treatment of hand thinned trees. Regarding the BA applications carried out on cv. 'Idared', significant thinning response was noticed in the case of BA sprayed at the end of bloom and at 10 mm of fruit diameter. The mean fruit weight of cv. 'Idared' apples was increased significantly only if BA was applied at 10 mm fruitlet diameter. Although the thinning results were inconsistent for two studied cultivars it was demonstrated from the trial that BA could be active as a thinner if applied over a wider phenological interval, at the end of blooming period up to 20 mm fruitlet diameter.

Forecasting Broiler Sales on CV. Berkah Bersama

Abdul Muta Ali, Ismaiyah Ismaiyah

The purpose of this study was to find out forecasting broiler chicken sales at CV. Berkah Bersama with using the trend moment method in May to July 2021. Previously the method was tested by its accuracy using the Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) calculation method. The data used in the form of sales data in the perioe January to April 2021. The result of the calculation of the accuracy of the trend moment method are 3% which indicate that the method is feasibleor can be used to predict the sale of broiler chicken on CV. Berkah Bersama. The result of calculation of forecasting chicken sales in the period May, June and July are equal to 60,957.90 Kg, 62,739.79 Kg dan 64,521.68 Kg. Keywords : Sales forecasting, Trend Moment Method, MAPE

Some Important Chemical and Aroma Characteristics of Some New Pepper Cultivars (Capsicum annuum L cv A30706 F1, Capsicum annuum L cv Kılçık F1, Capsicum annuum L cv Bitter F1)

Tolga Sarıyer, Mehmet Ali Gündoğdu, Arda Akçal et al.

Obtaining agricultural products with better quality is closely related to the development of new cultivars. New cultivars are increasing gradually internationally as a result of the breeding programs. Capsicum annuum L. ‘A30706 F1’, Capsicum annuum L. ‘Kılçık F1’, Capsicum annuum L. ‘Bitter F1’ pepper cultivars are newly developed registered pepper cultivars in Turkey. A30706 F1 is a bitter and black coloured long pepper also called purple coloured, Kılçık F1 is a sweet long thin pepper and Bitter F1 is a hot long thin pepper. Among the cultivars while the highest amount of ascorbic acid (216.35 mg/100g) was determined in A30706 F1, the highest amount of phenolic compounds (63.69 mg GAE/100g) was determined in the Bitter F1 cultivar. Hexanal was found as major aroma component in A30706 F1 and Kılçık F1 pepper cultivars, which creates a sensory perception as fresh, cut grass. Hexanal and E-2-tetradecenal were found as major aroma components in Bitter F1 cultivar. E-2-tetradecenal creates a sensory perception as fatty, waxy, cheesy.
