Družba sestara milosrdnica sv. Vinka Paulskog – povijesno naslijeđe sestrinstva u Karlovcu
Vinka Paulskog i priučeno osoblje. Svrha je ovoga rada istražiti doprinos i djelokrug rada Družbe sestara milosrdnica sv. Vinka Paulskog u Gradskoj javnoj bolnici u Karlovcu u razdoblju od 1. travnja 1888. do 12. listopada 1978. godine.

As relações sociais e as perspectivas da filosofia africana (Ubuntu) = Social relations and perspectives of African philosophy (Ubuntu) = Las relaciones sociales y las perspectivas de la filosofía africana (Ubuntu)
Fernando, Celestino Taperero
FROM NAMES TO OBJECTS—PHILOSOPHICALLY ABOUT PSYCHIATRIC CLASSIFICATIONS
Adrianna Grabizna
At each introduction of a new edition of psychiatric classifications, a vivid debate resurfaces and concerns their very validity: should classifications be based on etiology or should they be descriptive, based on observation, and not on some or other theories of etiopathogenesis? I shift the attention to the philosophical aspect of the debate. Psychiatric classifications employ (and have always employed) taxonomic methodology but in fact are not (and never were) based on biological mechanisms leading to mental disorders. Therefore I tried to catch the moment where certain observable features, recognized as symptoms, begins to be perceived as an ontologically independent entities and we start to think that nosological units must have a specific cause (e.g. a neuropathogenesis), which is simply reflected in the diagnostic picture. I tried to catch the moment, when by naming, classifying and diagnosing, we, in a sense, create objects. Then I show how from there we can slide into objectification: we can stop to see a person and start to an illness.

Approaches to blushing: context matters
Gen Eickers
This paper offers a systematic treatment of the social and cultural context of the blush. The paper looks into how different emotion theories approach blushing and does so by differentiating between basic emotion theories, which consider contextual factors but do not make them central to understanding emotional expressions, and contextual emotion theories, which make contextual factors central to understanding emotional expressions. The paper argues that blushing might be best explained by theories that make context central to understanding emotional expression.
On Diairesis, Parallel Division, and Chiasmus: Plato’s and Aristotle’s Methods of Division
Xin Liu
In this paper, I articulate three kinds of division that Plato and Aristotle acknowledge to be proper, valid methods of division, namely, diairesis (vertical division), parallel division, and chiasmus (cross-division). I attempt to explain the relationship among the three kinds of division, namely, how they transform from one to another. Starting with Plato’s division of constitution in the Statesman, I illuminate that from ostensible diairesis emerges a parallel division, and the parallel division causes a cross-division to occur. Thus, the sixfold division of constitution is not a diairesis (as it appears to be) but rather is a 3 x 2 cross-division. Inheriting the three kinds of division from Plato, Aristotle advances the form by providing a theoretical explanation to the transformation of the three kinds of division. In Topics Z6, Aristotle prescribes two conditions under which a parallel division can originate from or construct ostensible diairesis and how the parallel division further causes a cross-division to occur.
Antropogênese e filosofia indígena: o homem e o animal
Daniel Arruda Nascimento
“We Can Resolve Our Conflict” Conflict Resolution Training Program: Western Thrace Elementary School Sample
Pynar Ali Dai, Arzu Araz
Children do not know how to solve problems with their friends in a constructive manner. They may resort to violence or act passively to avoid conflict. Therefore, violence in communication between children is quite common. Conflict resolution programs are widely used in schools around the world to prevent violence. This study examines the effectiveness of the “We Can Resolve Our Conflicts” conflict resolution training program in a sample of Western Thrace Minority elementary school students. It aims to enhance student conflict resolution skills by teaching constructive ways, to increase emotional regulation, social behavior skills, and reduce conduct problems. We used a pre-test post-test control group design. Our training group consisted of 103 students and our control group consisted of 74 students. Conflict resolution skills were assessed by conflict scenarios. Emotion regulation skills were measured using Emotion Regulation Checklist. Pro-social behavior skills and conduct problems assessed using Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire. We Can Resolve Our Conflicts” program is a school-based prevention program consisting of 21 sessions with materials like caricatures, posters, and cartoons. We trained students to recognize emotions, empathy, control anger, and resolve conflicts constructively. Different techniques were employed, such as classroom discussions, role-playing, and penciland-paper activities to ensure active student participation. Control group students did not receive this training. We tested the “We Can Resolve Our Conflicts” program in a different location with similar cultural characteristics, and its effectiveness was approved. Findings showed that the training program raised students’ constructive conflict resolution skills, emotion regulation skills, and pro-social behavior skills. It reduced the level of conduct problems. The control group exhibited no changes in their conflict resolution and pro-social behavior skill scores from the pre to post-test. However, their emotion regulation and conduct problems scores changed negatively. In general, the findings of this study revealed that conflict resolution education is effective in resolving conflicts in elementary school students.
A RELIGIÃO CIVIL E O LEGISLADOR NO MODELO CONTRATUALISTA DE ROUSSEAU
Thomaz Kawauche
Talent management under conditions of digital transformation in education
Irina F. Sibgatullina, Elena E. Merzon, Arthuro Seibgll
The article discusses the social and psychological aspects of the digital environment and their impact on talent management systems. It also discusses the current shift in the labour market and offers a new perspective on self-development and mentoring. The development of the digital environment does not only have positive, but also negative consequences. Social inequality will increase, bringing forth multiple psychological problems connected with the lack of opportunity for selffulfilment and realization of one’s personal talent. In these conditions, it is the type of work that cannot be codified that will provide the best opportunity for talent preservation. The value of human capital, creativity and mindfulness is increasing. In the digital environment, lifelong education becomes essential. The introduction of state of the art digital teaching methods will require cultural and psychological transformation from both teachers and students. The digital environment will require a new approach to self-development. It is highly important for the mental well-being of a person of the digital age to have a flexible development schedule. Informal education, however, will be able to balance the general need for knowledge pertinent to digital economy with preserving individual mental well-being. The authors propose a discussion around the concept of informal education that goes beyond the realm of robotic substitution and digital footprint.
Lorenzo Bianchi
In his Bibliographia politica (Venice 1633) Naudé reviews in about one hundred pages authors and works that have dealt with politics, from the Antiquity to the first decades of the Seventeenth Century. In few enlightened pages on the ordinary and extraordinary administration of the State, Naudé elaborates his own idea of Reason of State, including the use of an extraordinary administration in the name of the public benefit. We can find a continuity between his Bibliographia politica and his Considérations politiques sur les coups d’Estat (1639). In both his political works Naudé gives to the category of wisdom, derived from Aristotle, a new practical and political value, which goes back to authors such as Machiavelli or Cardano, Lipsius or Charron. Naudé’s political wisdom uses dissimulation and any form of justice, also against common law, to act in extraordinary administration of the State or to carry out “coups d’État.”

Self-Compassion Scale: IRT Psychometric Analysis, Validation, and Factor Structure – Slovak Translation
Júlia Halamová, Martin Kanovský, Monika Pacúchová
The present study verifies the psychometric properties of the Slovak version of the Self-Compassion Scale through item response theory, factor-analysis, validity analyses and norm development. The surveyed sample consisted of 1,181 participants (34% men and 66% women) with a mean age of 30.30 years (SD = 12.40). Two general factors (Self-compassionate responding and Self-uncompassionate responding) were identified, whereas there was no support for a single general factor of the scale and six subscales. The results of the factor analysis were supported by an independent sample of 676 participants. Therefore, the use of total score for the whole scale would be inappropriate. In Slovak language the Self-Compassion Scale should be used in the form of two general subscales (Self-compassionate responding and Self-uncompassionate responding). In line with our theoretical assumptions, we obtained relatively high Spearman’s correlation coefficients between the Self-Compassion Scale and related external variables, demonstrating construct validity for the scale. To sum up, the Slovak translation of The Self-Compassion Scale is a reliable and valid instrument that measures Self-compassionate responding and Self-uncompassionate responding.
