THE SCHOOL OF IBERO-ROMANCE STUDIES: THE HISTORY OF FORMATION AND THE CURRENT STATE

Abstrak
The main subject of the article is the history and circumstances of the formation of the school of Ibero-Romance studies at the Faculty of Philology. The author takes a detailed look at the history of teaching Spanish and Portuguese at Moscow State University, as well as the contribution of the heads of the Department of Ibero-Romance Linguistics and its staff to the formation of a unique tradition of studying and teaching Spanish, Portuguese, Catalan and Galician languages, scientific and pedagogical activities of the staff of the department, their contribution to Russian Ibero-Romance studies.
