Abstrak

The present paper offers an introductory approach to the Diccionario de ideas afines y elementos de tecnología (s.a. [1899]), an example of onomasiological lexicographic method proposed by E. Benot. The dictionary is presented as a useful resource for language proficiency in general, and writing and expression, in particular. It was ment to be a dictionary for writers. The author says that the ideological structure is the most feasible, coherent and comprehensive organization of knowledge and a recommended resource for paperwork. The lexicographic method is: "given an idea, find the words to express it."
