Abstrak
This year, 2025, marks the celebration of two anniversaries: the centenary of the honoured International Exhibition of Decorative and Industrial Modern Arts (Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes) in Paris and six decades since one of its leading figures, Dragiša Brašovan (1887–1965), permanently departed the Serbian and Yugoslav architectural scene. On this occasion, we wanted to study the two hand-in-hand, in order to highlight aspects of the development of the Art Deco style, which was named after the aforementioned exhibition, and to emphasize the place that Brašovan’s oeuvre occupies within the framework of this stylistic phenomenon and its reception on the domestic scene.
