La construction du sujet politique dans l’Empire russe des années 1870
Abstrak
In the Russian Empire of the last third of the 19th century, as a result of the flourishing activity of the social movement known as “revolutionary populism”, a large corpus of autobiographical sources and memoirs written by its former members was created. Many of the diaries and letters seized in the course of the political cases have found their way into the archival collections of physical evidence. These personal writings – of which Apollinarija Jušina’s diary is a significant example – allow the reconstruction of one’s political trajectory, from first protests to the involvement in the collective action. They thus offer a vivid insight into how a person constructs him/herself as a political subject and the role of the diary itself in the process of assimilating values and ideological references.
