Abstrak

This article deals with the experience of creating the figure of editor of gender in the Argentinian media. This figure emerged on the scene in June 2019 with the appointment of Mariana Iglesias as editor of Clarín, one of Argentina’s most important commercial newspapers with a nationwide circulation. Today there are ten female editors of media outlets of various kinds in Argentina. They receive the support of a society with a strong awareness of the rights of women and groups of sexual diversity, but they still face multiple challenges and resistance from certain quarters.
