The Evolution of the South Korea–US Space Cooperation: From Missile Restrictions to Space Alliance

Abstrak

South Korea’s significant achievements in space have largely stemmed from the space cooperation between Republic of Korea (ROK) and the United States. By institutionalising their security cooperation, the two countries have cooperated closely in space policy, the space industry and military space activities, thereby strengthening and deepening the ROK–US space alliance. The ROK–US space cooperation would have a profound impact on dynamics on the Korean peninsula and on space competition across the Asia-Pacific region.
