PENGARUH PROMOSI KESEHATAN MELALUI MEDIA POSTER TERHADAP TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN DAN SIKAP ANAK DALAM PENCEGAHAN DIARE PADA SISWA/I SDN 006 BATAM KOTA

ABSTRACT Background: Diarrhea is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in children worldwide, especially in Indonesia, which has the highest prevalence in Southeast Asia at 18.21%. Given the adverse effects of diarrhea on children, preventive efforts through health promotion are essential, one of which is using poster media. This study aims to determine the effect of health promotion through poster media on students' knowledge and attitudes in preventing diarrhea at SDN 006 Batam Kota. Methods: This quantitative study employed a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. The study population consisted of all students at SDN 006 Batam Kota, with a sample of 94 students selected using the Slovin formula and quota sampling technique. Data were collected through knowledge and attitude questionnaires and analyzed using parametric paired t-test or non-parametric Wilcoxon test, depending on data distribution. Results: The study results showed a significant increase in students' knowledge and attitudes after receiving health promotion through poster media. Data analysis using the Wilcoxon test revealed a p-value of 0.001 for the knowledge variable and p-value of 0.001 for the attitude variable, indicating a significant difference before and after the intervention (p < 0.05). Conclusion: Health promotion through poster media has been proven to significantly improve students' knowledge and attitudes in preventing diarrhea at SDN 006 Batam Kota. Therefore, this medium can be utilized as an effective health education method in school settings.   Keywords: the influence of poster media, knowledge, attitude, children.
