Contatos Interétnicos no Vale do Araguaia: Os Iny e os Colonizadores entre os Séculos XVI e XX

Abstrak

This article investigates, based on the historiography and the Javaé narrative (Lati ijyky), the history of the contacts established between the Iny throughout the colonization of Brazilian territory, seeking to understand how the Javaé interacted with the colonizers during the territorial occupation of the central region of Brazil. A cut out was made in relation to the bandeiras that crossed “the sertões of Paraupava”, posteriorly sertões of Goiás, from the end of the 16th to the 18th century and, from then on, the history of interethnic contacts between the Javaé and the colonizers was analyzed, in a decolonial perspective, that is, from the Javaé point of view, contributing to the understanding of the isolationist posture of these people in the interior of Bananal Island in practically all the 19th century.
